I got an idea for a hairdo involving the horns... And I felt like drawing it, aaand since I already had that template, I figured I might as well do a whole second set. 

Maybe 3 this time that are too long to be workable in game without major clipping probably. I dunno I don't make games, or mods.

The top right hair is a regular braid, only with the horn instead of one strand of hair. I... Kinda actually braided my own hair like that to a broom to see if it would work... So, y'know, that hair would totally work.

Mostly the latter.... since devs said those are the final hairstyles. D:

The modded hairstyles people are creating in this thread look better than even the male human hairstyles we got a brief glimpse of. I know BioWare sucks at hair, but come on! I'd seriously be willing to give them several more months to work on this if they could just produce something I'd expect to see in a game made within the last five years...

I wonder how many people who were going to play Qunari (I was so excited about it) will skip it now? I wonder if that'll make BioWare think people just don't like Qunari and putting them in was a mistake.

After this debacle I'm even more determined to play as a qunari. It will be a  qunari gentleman first, though. I hope the beards look decent at least. I'm going to shelf my qunari lady for a while, hoping that some modders will succeed in implementing some gorgeous ideas, like Elissiaro has here.

It was not very fortunate idea to introduce a new race like this. Humans are rather conservative creatures who love familiar things. As in hair. As in good-looking hair, which has great role in human culture.

I don't think anybody here is asking for anime hairstyles, but having at least a couple of decent options is not much to ask, is it? I could live without Adam's apple and 500 shades of lipstick.

It's not a dealbreaker, but again, an unfortunate decision which kills some enthusiasm for the new race.

I want to make clear that I don't have issue with horns, those are great and I like how different your horns can be. However the hairstyles are simply underwhelming and too similar to each other. I know that it's very close to actual game release but if BW gets inspired about feedback they might at least release DLC. I'd pay couple euros for qunari hair options.

 

I'd totally buy a hair DLC in a heartbeat!

I think it's more like we have seen so much conceptart / offical released art of qunari with braided, long hair that we kinda expected that style to be translated to the CC (within it's limitations of course, I for one never expected long flowing hair)
If the devs had always been showcasing the qunari as a race  with shaved  /really closely cropped hairstyles, complete baldness or something like that, I wouldn't complain at all. Buuut they didn't. And now people are just confused and disappointed that they can't create qunari quite the way they expected.

Seriously, it's like the hair in DA2, ME3 and DA:I were made a decade ago and ported into the more modern games.

 

I know we have no chance of getting anything better and that those are final, it's super depressing. I keep going through this cycle of thinking "well maybe I can find an awesome hat or helmet or hood to cover that awful blob hair" and then I remember no head wear for Qunari at all  with the new engine that is super resistant to modders, even buying a gaming PC and hoping for fan mods is a slim chance.

I honestly thought horns and hair were separate sliders.  It's a little disappointing but I still look forward to playing a male qunari warrior (Which I have not seen yet!)

I'm just...  I'm so saddened and disappointed I don't know what to say...  I feel so let down and defeated.  I feel like...  like I'm completely incapable of expressing my own characters in any game, ever...

 

If anything is close, it's always someone elses character...  when it comes to the player... it feels... we're always screwed...

 

The frustration is reminiscent of the same struggle I deal with trying to be myself in the real world, and it feels like games never get any better with this...

 

I only ever get to see characters that are not my own reach the ideals I hope to reach in game with my character but am always unable to...

 

Is like real life, I'm a woman, but being born in a male body, my entire life is a struggle to simply be recognized as a woman, let alone look anything like I want to be.

 

Then I go to game, in a game world, where pictures in lore, npcs in games, ect all can look so magnificent and so beautiful.  Some even get to wear dresses, and more feminized outfits.  But like real life, in my struggle to be the woman I am on the inside on the outside as well,  my characters are always stuck with a similar struggle always falling way short.

 

Is getting to the point where all the excuses just aren't enough.  I've dealt with the excuses with games too long, and the frustration is forcing the parallel of my struggle and the character's struggle to become too pervasive for me.  This may very well be my last dragon age game.  I love the world, I love everything about the game, but this feeling, this frustration is getting to be too much.

 

For me this is not a minor deal, this is not just hair, or just a dress, or just... so many things...  It causes me actual emotional trauma and frustration.  I'm so tired of the excuses, if it really is hard, I think it's time some real effort is put into finding a way to make it easier or overcome it.  How advanced do we need to become before such things are finally included?

 

I dunno, I just...  I'm so depressed and feeling so defeated right now...  too many bad things revealed lately, is actually effecting my real life emotional health...  I'm beginning to think I may take my escapes way too seriously, but sometimes they're all I have to escape a horrible life.

 

With my games starting to feel the same as my real life struggles I'm losing all ability to escape.  It's just been too long, with all the same excuses, I'm tired of waiting, and struggling to accept my characters limitations in game, same as my own in real life.  I can't wait and compromise forever.

 

I know this isn't much, coming from someone in another part of the world, but my inbox is always open if you need someone to vent to or escape with.

For Dragon Age fans, sure. For newcomers who never even saw qunari, it will be: "Eww... better stick with humans!" It irks me because qunari have great potential to be awesome for the new players. Oh, well.

I know what I'm going to do - I'm just going to create a dark skinned elf with white hair and striking eyes. I'm going to give her a qunari name, and she will be beautiful and she will also be able to romance Solas.

well, I am hoping the males look good, I can roll with short hair or a Mohawk but I want to see how those horns turn out on them.  I am pretty excited about this, weird I usually care more about gameplay.
