So you'll be a Tal-Vashoth elf.
What? A Tal-Vashoth is anyone who's rebelling against the qun right? So you shouldn't have to be a qunari, you just have to have been a Qunari at one point in life.

Seeing the concepts of the hair we could've had is depressing. I also wonder what styles the males will get.
Explains why we havent seen any hair on them, i just dont get how the qunari have been portrayed with elegant hair styles since the beginning of the series yet are given next to nothing in hair style variety, then to top it off, the player is forced to look at it the entire time since we cant wear helmets which is just salt to the wound
This isn't going to effect the excitement over my femqunari playthrough but the given hairdo's are indeed quite underwhelming. I'm just hoping we can still mix and match hair/horns since they are on the same slider...
That fan-made hair design with the braids wrapping around the horns... *drools*
Looking at these pictures makes me sad but they are beautiful designs.
Those horns were given lot more love though
There was variation and good texture. When comparing qunari hairstyles to human one's for exaple, human one's have better and more variable styles and also the texture and overall quality is better.
I think the time forthe qunari hair should been taken anywhere else and put to that hair. Less horn options, less make-up, maybe take something away from other races since they have lot more stuff than qunari (more hairstyles and also tattoos, and helms!). I think the hair shouldnt be breaking point when chosing what race to play.
Don't screw with my Elves!*shakes fist*

If anything the concept arts shows that Bioware did want to add those hair styles for the qunari, but things happen

Thats the thing, what happened? WHat in development could restrict them so much? I can easily find multiple hair styles for the other races that could be applied to the qunari even considering the horns, but what in development caused the lack of options?

Wait... I still haven't had the time to watch the damn video yet.... qunari can't have tattoos?
Qunari can't have permanent face tattoos, but there will be a variety of tattoos you can equip instead of a helmet.
I cannot possibly fathom abandoning an interesting gameplay and story opportunity like playing a Qunari because you can't get the hair you want. That's completely ridiculous.
Is it really any worse then people refusing to play an Elf because they're Dalish or people refusing to play a Human because they have Chantry connections?

Nah the helmet slot counts as a tattoo instead.

Maybe there long hair issue caused more problems with qunari due to their horns, the horn variations could've took up more time for hairstyles, or just not enough time to add more hairstyles
There are many factors that could be a reason behind it, that's why we need more dev input on this
I also wanna point out this blog post by Gaider

(...) game development is a shell game — you are always giving up one thing in order to get something else. You kill your darlings so that the others might live, and if you’re not the sort of person who can mercilessly pick which of your beloved children are your favorite then you will not survive in game design.
It does make it mildly insulting when someone comes along later and suggest that the darlings you killed didn’t have to be killed at all, like they know better — Frank down the street didn’t kill his darlings, right? (And you’re thinking, “hey… didn’t Frank used to have fourteen children and now mysteriously only has seven? Or did I go insane during the last crunch?”) But you’ll have to forgive them, because there’s no reason why they would know the truth… and, I suspect, every gamer deep down suspects the only reason a given feature doesn’t make into a game is because the game dev hates them and hates freedom.

Hmmm. I wasn't considering having any face tattoos on my qunari, but... that's odd. And I'm not entirely sold on the face paint as a concept, either, unless you get to choose the design and/or colour. Being stuck with some weird design in a freaky colour would be annoying.

I think the face paint works the same as armor, which you can probably craft your own or hide it if you don't like them

You can toggle it as not showing just like with any helmet when using the "hide the helm" option.
Id say it'd only be fair if we could customize it since we cant wear a helmet.

That does make sense.

Allan - why were the bald/hornless options given ugly blotches in place of horns? They're hideous and superfluous. Sten never had blotches.
Please remove them, BioWare. Or make them optional. Best to simply remove them if making them optional is more difficult.
Removing them couldn't possibly be difficult. They look disturbing at best, and like a goofy, partial reverse mohawk at worst if you squint..
Yuck.
I really want to make a hornless guy, but that simply will not happen with the mandatory, gross, necrotic craters.
My theory would be they chose horns over hair. Which is obviously a mistake, because people are used to hair and they expect a decent amount. Whereas horned races are barely in any games. Really, they could've easily gotten away with very few horn options and the usual hair #s. All that said, I still don't see why the other races' hair couldn't have been copy pasted to the qunari.
Or at the very least, a 50/50 split, personally i wouldve been fine with just a small horn option and this horn option
I'm going to go with the hornless female qunari then.. make her hair white, and skin ashen grey, maybe yellow eyes with red outer iris.. That will have to do.
If Qunari were never meant to have tattoos, then why couldn't of hair and horns be spit from their slider.
They were probably put together in the slider to prevent issues
Maybe the hair looks better white?
=/
I know I'm grasping for straws at this point but what the hell.
Also do you even get the studded full upward horns with the bun?

Even then they would have to have altered them and probably put them into a different slider. I think it was just about time and resources, a lot of special attention already went to the Qunari.
Tbh I do like most of the horn options and I wouldn't want to see many of them go. Maybe they didn't need several different kinds of broken and sawn-off looking horns. I personally think they should have given them the extra attention because the result would have been a lot better with just a few of the human hairstyles being altered and added.
