People should care more about the game being bug and glitch free. I never expected the Qunari to have glamorous hair. They are not human. They are not elf. They are not dwarf.

That plus most of the qunari we've saw had nothing against medium/long hair suggests that yeah they don't have a hair length requirement. As long as it's doesn't keep you from doing your job it shouldn't be an issue.

I expected basic good looking pulled back hair for Qunari. Something that the horns clearly wouldn't interfere with.
I did not expect that cornroll bun abomination.

As for the styles. You can have practical and out of the way without...that.
I doubt Tal-Vashoth culture is radically different. They may not follow the Qun, but somethings are bound to remain.
true but because the Qun is very strict on things that pertain to who and what a person is, it makes sense that if there are rules regarding personal appearance that the Tal-Vashoth would break away from it as a way to show their defiance to the Qun.

I really wanted to design a male qunari with shoulder length hair, whether it was hanging loose or tied back.
I'm pretty certain since there is no shoulder length for the females, then any chance of having that for the males has gone up like a fart in church.

Bald

Bald with a little bit of a comb over
Cornrows
And finally, Bald.

When Qunari developed Qun-ball, helmets were developed. It was only a matter of time.
I don't think I'm going to complain about this, even though I would enjoy more options.
Originally DA:I had a human protagonist. I remember it being the case. It was expanded so we could have four races instead of one, more than in DA:O. In my opinion just being able to be a qunari at all is good enough. We got more than that though because the qunari that are possible to make right now as it is look awesome. So I can only thank Bioware for putting that option in the game and enjoy it.

Qunari can still wear helmets, the PC and I guess Iron Bull too can't wearing them because it would've taken too much time making helmets to go around their horns
Maybe they'll make a Black Emporium type thing sometime after launch that will have more hairstyle options, since I'm still certain Bioware did intend for the qunari to have more hair options
Otherwise you'd think Mike Laidlaw or someone would be like "don't worry guys! Pretty hair is on the way!" instead of shoving a Twix bar in his mouth and mumbling about how those four ugly things are the only hair "styles" we get.

Both of those were plot related and were clearly different from earlier games. The brands were told but not shown and the horns were something they wanted to do but couldn't. Seeing longer hair isn't something that needs to be explained. People (and qunari) have varying hair lengths.
Because they had more than one horn type and decided it'd be easier to make a lore based reason that Qunari wore warpaint instead of bothering with several different helmet types.

I guess =/ I hope it wasn't something ridiculous like they wasted most of their qunari design resources on the horns then went "oh...let's just throw some hair together the horns'll be enough."
