we can always use hair mods...pc players at least
Except maybe not, because apparently the engine is almost impossible to mod.

It feels like false advertisement, really. All concept art and previous games and other media has given us an idea of how qunaris look like. Then we get these mediocre options. Seriously? None of the horns would interfere with the shape of the hair if no hair falls over the face. And having each hairstyle paired with a set of horns is a horrible idea. Who came up with that? Also, there are so little options that most qunaris will end up looking very similar. It seems like a big deal when you compare the vastness of the rest of the character creator's options to this. I didn't think anything could curve my enthusiasm about playing the game but this has.
Were qunaris added as an afterthought?
Bye bye my pretty Adaar, Selim.

Meh, each to their own, I guess. I think they look fine, and the horns are the real draw here for me tbh.
Of which, I think some of the options look really, really sweet.
Honestly the horns make me feel worse. Such lovely horns...then I get to the hair and go =/
Kind of like seeing cheap jewelery in a obviously expensive and beautiful case.
I'd been fine if we had just one option for long hair (like the qunari lady concept art. That horn style with that long braid I'd been happy with).
But agreed. Many of the horn options are completely lovely.

How does it feel like false advertisement when concept art is never a full indication of what's gonna be in-game
Can't they use the hair templates from the other races to add unto the qunari?

They could but they would have to rework the hair for it to work on the qunari head
Were qunaris added as an afterthought?
Uh.....yes. Along with elves and dwarves. They weren't originally going to be playable and they changed their minds when they got extra development time. So, yes, in some respects, qunari PCs were an after thought.

I love BioWare. I love their games. I love it all - don't get me wrong.
But what is the deal with this game company and their apprehension toward decent hair? I've played so many lesser games (BioWare is top quality gaming in my opinion) with awesome hairstyle options.
lol, I swear they need to hire some hair professionals to come in and coach people on what looks good.

For real? Look at ALL of the examples for all characters before they settled on the final design. They didn't change that much. And you are ignoring the previous depictions of the qunari across multiple games, comics, books and official art. Besides, this is the character you get to change, to customize and they don't even give you the option to make it look like the way their own lore says it should look. It boggles the mind.

The loveliness of the human options makes the qunari bleh hair look so much worse.

lol for real. You get to scrape the bottom of the barrel for a decent hairdo apparently.

More so than the other races I meant.

Um maybe Bioware did intend for longer hair but couldn't do it
It's not like Bioware tried to bait and switch people with the qunari
Except maybe not, because apparently the engine is almost impossible to mod.
Keyword here. Also im pretty sure the engines modding capability is nowhere near almost impossible. Its just very difficult, and luckily textures and meshes are the most easiest mods to implement into a game.

Yep.
I mean even if the only long style was the concept hair and horns was that some impossibility?
Just one long style.
Just. One.

I don't think they tried that. But man you'd think aesthetics would play a way bigger role during character creation. Hair is a crucial aesthetic when it comes to designing a person.

Seems that way. They didn't really show hairstyles for male qunaris. But I'm expecting them to be totally bald at all times. Bah.
Seconding this motion, if at all possible at this late juncture. I intend to play my Adaar with a buzzcut, but if someone else wants to have glorious locks flying as they demolish their foes, they should get to have that too.
They could but they would have to rework the hair for it to work on the qunari head
Wasn't there some longish swept back hairstyles on any of the other races that they could use for the qunari? It should leave room for the horns to protrude

^^^ Even the hair in Silent Rogue's avatar would be awesome. It's not even that long from what I'm seeing.

How do you know they didn't try it, they've been working on the CC and the Inquisitors when those concept arts came out

:Sigh:
No.
You misunderstood what I was saying.
I don't think they tried the bait and switch.
