I'd pay for it, mostly in an attempt to convince BioWare that in future efforts need to go to the CC. Sure, I'd love a story-based DLC, but money does talk.

You know this thinking can backfire horribly. Like removing things from the CC before launch and selling them post release...

I can't play the game looking bad so qunari hair takes all priority on DLC's for me at the moment.

I can't take this seriously. I understand it. But I disagree completely.

I dunno, man. BioWare always releases appearance packs with armour, weapons, clothing, and accessories. They did it in ME and DA. So....my train of thought is this: the devs insisted the hairstyles were locked in. Would the suggestion of a patch even be considered after saying that? Maybe. Hell, hopefully. But DLC will most definitely happen over the next few years. You'll get your campaigns as usual, and there will most likely be - as usual - appearance packs. They can include hairstyles in the latter.

Would I prefer a free, expedited patch? Of course. But I'm weighing all options, trying to look at which ones are more likely to occur.

I'd rather appearance packs, as you call them, be included in patches. Armor packs and weapon packs can be included in the story driven DLCs as loot drops and exploration rewards.

MP most likely had it's on resources because MP will bring in money via packs. MP payed for itself pretty much.

Now on the single player side...they decided to animate 2 extra romances for a very limited amount of players when they couldn't bother fixing a races hair to it being acceptable is where I am more confused because all that is SP money.

SP budget is also gets divided for all we know the extra 2 romances were from leftovers in the romance budget

I tweeted Mike Laidlaw question that would patch or dlc be possible for qunari hairs ^^ Idk if the tweet will be lost among all other tweets he surely gets but it's a try.

Perhaps more folks on this thread with Twitter should send tweets.

I would like to point out that I hate the fact that the only real way to "communicate" with them is through twitter. It's not private and it limits how much you can type. What a pain.

And they couldn't knock that over to the CC? I hardly doubt the budget is so rigid they never move resources from one place to another as needed.

I'd assume paying someone for the time they spent making it? Or do devs get paid differently?

I actually agree with this, I never liked the idea of armor and weapons being sold as packs. I'd rather they be tied in with story DLC

  I wasn't talking about the hair in that post

Truly, I don't care where it comes from. I just want the end result: a solution. So either/or is fine with me.

As for your concerns about cutting things from CC only to turn around later and sell them separately - that's a valid concern, considering EA's track record. In the case of qunari hair, I don't think it was intended as extortion. But I am rather paranoid about if whether or not there will be something lacking in the game play that totally goes that route. It'd have to be something that everyone cares about, which is concerning and a bit scary................ :/

Probably not, but like I said earlier I highly doubt the budget has anything to do with the lack of hair options and the low textures on the qunari hair

That seems more like a technical issue or time

What technical issue could explain qunari low texture hair compared to everyone else's decently to well textured hair?

I'm just gonna throw it out there. Time constraints.

It feels rushed to me.

I linked this thread in a tweet to Mike Laidlaw. Not really sure who else to tweet - Mike is kind of at the top of the food chain.

True that could be the issue. Especially since the horns in comparison are well done suggesting they did take time and effort with those then just slapped the hair together.

The question becomes why didn't they have better time management and focus less on the horns were that many horn variations with that few hair variations necessary. Oh well.

Which is why I'm willing to pay for extra time via DLC that gives more hair options.

Or a patch scheduled for later is fine too. It'd be free, at least. And it'd be better customer service to offer that.

Except... it's feature-locked now, or at least the CC is. Existing features can be polished, but nothing new can be added.

I'll be happy if they improve the texture of the existing four hairstyles for Qunari, but I still want more.

My guess is they weren't expecting people to care about the hair. Seems like the horns are overly fetishized when it comes to qunari. I don't mean fetishized sexually, per say, but people put those horns on a pretty big pedestal. I understand why since they're a unique racial feature, but at the same time their white hair was unique and beautiful too. Aside from Flemeth, you rarely saw white hair. And she (eventually) had horns too.

I don't know about anyone else but to me it was the combination of the white hair, grey skin, and horns that won me over aesthetically. The qunari come in a package - they're not just a walking/talking set of horns. That's dumb.

Weird. pretty horns with a "uh..." hairstyle does nothing for me :x The hair ruins the look XD I'd been good with ram horns, back horns, and some broken horn variations.

Same it was the combination that was so striking.

I probably wouldn't mind the baldness so much on a male qunari but I didn't want to play as them XD

Hopefully they manage to polish the bun

If they just give that some volume and make it look less like caked mud it'll work long enough for wait for hair dlc :P

It's only my view of the situation ^^ DLC's are usually something I don't buy right from the back, they are pretty expensive on PSN as well and you need to buy stupid playstation cards (20 euros or 50 euros) to buy them.. I'm getting side-tracked but DLC's are pretty annoying to buy and expensive on PSN so I play them usually after finishing main game couple of times. That said qunari hairstyle DLC would be something I'd buy as soon as it's available.

I'd be happy if the hornless option had access to most of the other hairstyles.

I'd, of course, be happiest if we could have more styles and pick which horns we want.

Honestly, in my opinion, if you compare the hair textures of the other races to the skin textures, there is no comparison.  Even though the hair is nicer texture wise than Qunari hair, and has more variants, it doesn't hold up to the skin textures.  What does hold up, however, are the horns.  Which are immaculately textured and blend perfectly into the skin.

I'd rather have badass horns of all different shapes and sizes that look fantastic than fewer horns for some hair that won't be up to snuff either way.

Romance content is writers and cinematics director people, probably not the same folks who design the CC options IMO.

What does that mean exactly 'feature-locked'?
