The qunari already have limited (and unique!) skin tones because lore. While we've only seen white-haired qunari thus far, I'm glad they expanded the hair color options. It's still limited, so presumably it still fits into the lore.

A rough photoshop on my part (I am not an artist. Be kind.) but this would have been my ideal femqunari. I would have changed her skin color to something darker, though. I really wanted earplating or some kind of wrapping jewelry for the ear (hence the dragon earring). I was in love with the idea of ram's horns until I saw the hair options. The ram's horns look coolest (to me) nestled against a badass hawk. See, this hawk is much bigger than the one in the CC. And it's more than a hawk, it has braiding etc. The ram's horns paired with the styles they're anchored to remind me too much of Princess Leia from the side. 
 
I dunno. This rough design is overall perfect to me. Wished I could have somehow recreated it in CC.

I, too, wanted a cool-looking mohawk design. Shaved on the sides, maybe, and the hawk is a braid (because I wanted a braid motif for all my Inquisitors)

To clarify, I would never create a qunari inquisitor with blonde, red, or brown hair.  

 

But I would never advocate restricting those colors from other players.

 

Well except I might go blonde (that accursed tease tarot card and it's long flowing blond hair).

 

But white and black is pretty much my go to.

 

 

No issue really, we are are pretty much agreeing.   My first post was taking issue with people *not* buying the game over hair. Just seemed like a serious overreaction.

 

Customizing their characters is serious business to some people. Hardly a majority but *shrug*

It wouldn't be arbitrary. All the qunari we have seen so far in game and in concept art and comics have had white hair, except that one da2 concept with a black haired qunari. 

 

That doesn't mean qunari couldn't have other hair colours but it seems like the vast majority of them have white hair. White, black and grey would have made perfect sense as the only hair options. I'm not saying they were wrong to add more options or that people should be restricted, just that if they were it would be understandable considering previous games and previous designs for the qunari.

Not really the same thing but yes and that's why I am here. 

 

Not that I expected a perfect reflection of the concept art with long flowing white hair but it would be nice to at least be able to get close to that. 

 

It does make me wonder how many qunari npc's there will be in the game and what they will look like. The one's in Da2 had hair but it was quite short.

True, but the Arishok's went down to his shoulders, which is fairly long for DA.

Mostly just because they were still being worked on.  It would have done no one any favours to show incomplete long hair only for it to not be in the game at all for release.

 

I can understand that people are going to be disappointed because they were hoping for something different or more, but as you say concept art is concept art and that's the starting point for coming up with a vision, but there's still a full process of putting it into the game.  Hopefully with systems in place we can do more going forward.

I haven't seen any notices of colour being restricted in the CC. Please link me if I've missed something.

I thought I saw blonde when they were going through colors on the stream. I could be wrong though.

They start going through Qunari hair colours at approx 23:12. I think there's soft/light blondes in there but your mileage may vary.
