Don't forget it is a demo though, the texture we saw could either be from an older build or not fully polished yet (obviously lol :P)

It's been confirmed it's from a pre-certification build. Practically an inch away from gold, I believe.

Yeah, but I really expect nothing more, I've yet to see a bioware game where beards didn't look like they were glued on and Hair look liked plastic.

It's not a gamebreaker, but it's kind of annoying.

Well they do have more than Black or white, so that's that.

I spoke before I read more of the topic.

So they can definitely polish the hair or fix it with a patch

Yea the beards still need more work :P

Though I could see them getting the hair a bit

Well that's just lovely =/

Maybe they can make the bun an actual bun before release and not a mud helmet.

No worries, sorry if that came off as rude. I didn't mean it that way

That's what I am hoping but it looked like that in the E3 demo and it still looks like that now. Most of the others hairstyles we have seen from previous builds have been at least somewhat improved in more recent images and demos.

All the companion hair seems to have improved a little. Cole's used to look like sand and now it looks like actual hair. I though Dorian's and Sera's also improved from the E3 demo. So at least they touched up the companions.

And Solas' head is shinier.  :P

The fact that the bun has the worst texture (and they are all pretty terrible) is even more disappointing. I would have been fine with that one but it looks like it's made of plasticine. <_<

The bun actually looks good.. from the back. From the top it looks like corncrows and from the side flat.

Yeah most of the companions had pretty dreadful looking hair the first time we saw them but now they all look fine. Companion hair would naturally get more attention though as their it is custom made.

Sera is a good example of the improvement.

The bun doesn't even look as good as Sera's original hair though.

My guess is that the dev team is probably getting ready to address the players either on the main site or on the forums.  It would be easier on them than answering everyone's tweets.  I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't say something next week, although I wouldn't be surprised if they stayed quiet either.

Yep, I do hope that they are going to address the concerns of us sooner or later, but I'm not exactly counting on it either. But hey, at least we tried to make them aware that people are kinda unsatisfied with the choices they made for the qunari in CC

For better and for worse, I think they've gotten the gist that we're dissatisfied with the look and/or lack of options when it comes to the lady qunari hair.

I'm not sure what they could say, at this point there isn't really anything they can do since the game will probably go gold within the next few weeks.

I just want to know whether or not those screenshots were making the hair textures look muddy, or if that's what they actually look like in game.  I know it goes gold very shortly, but that is something that perhaps they could do some clean up on either before they hit gold, or just after launch.  That's what I'm hoping they say.  I don't expect anything else.

That's fair enough, I'm still hoping the weird textures were just due to the color. But that's probably wishful thinking.

I can imagine it now: some Bioware PR rep standing at a podium in the Bioware press room (AKA the writer's room but they moved the desks and stuff to the back) speaking to the community.

"Hello, and welcome to our press conference today. Before I speak I'd like to thank those willing to arrive in person to this conference [cut to cheering group of seven overly devoted Dragon Age fans] along with those viewing at home via our Twitch stream. You are the players, we share a common goal in wanting to see story driven games reach their furthest potential. I'm hear today to address the forthcoming release of Dragon Age: Inquisition, specifically concerns with the character creator or "Face Melter" as it's taken to being called. First let me say that in the development of Dragon Age: Inquisition we have made great efforts toward giving the players the experience they want within the Dragon Age world including the inclusion of multiple player races. In that regard we are aware of the reaction players have had to the selection of qunari available. At this point late in development, as we move closer to certifications, we are not able to put new content such as hair into the game. Dragon Age: Inquisition will be one of the most epic RPG's Bioware has released and we look forward to you getting it in your hands."

[As some Bioware PR Rep moves to exit the cheering group of seven overly devoted Dragon Age fans call out]

"Sir, what about future DLC possibilites for more hair choices?"

"Sir, does Bioware have comment on the Sims 4 team's announcement that they'll include pools in a content update? Is their any possibilities that you will be doing the same with qunari hair?"

"What about complaints over the general beard quality in the character creator?"

[Enter Assistant PR Rep onto the podium]

"Thank you for joining us. We will not be taking questions at this time. Dragon Age: Inquisitions is set to be released November 18. We hope you enjoy the game."

... So anyway that's what happens when I stay up too late and get creative. Please don't misinterpret this as anything close to an actual Bioware press release.

They start going through Qunari hair colours at approx 23:12. I think there's soft/light blondes in there but your mileage may vary.

Well, I give Mike and Cameron credit where credit is due. They are open and honest about the Qunari getting less options than Humans or Elves. Granted it was about hair color, but still.

Dragon Age cc is realistic. Best cc is saints row you have all options and no limitations, can have blue skin chiss master race. Hair colour and skin colour lack of options is not a problem, if race in game can have only skin/hair like this. Of course there will always be people who cry Qunari skin is not white/black. I was always 99% sure qunari skin is only shades of grey, I was wrong they have bronze to. But lack of options in hair styles and all styles locked with horns and there is no mix between horns and hair, this is disappointing. And not only Qunari. We don't have long hair at all.

I think this is about the size of it.
I read some 'pre-order cancelled' threats in this thread and to be honest if I had not been on the train I would have laughed out loud - a lot...
There's plenty of online information about why hair is difficult. Games with more gorgeous hair have limited protagonists and/or less cinematics with multiple characters.

IF people are nice about it you might get some extra options if/when a face melter is introduced.

The chances of it being introduced now are pretty close to zero.
I can imagine a few complaints if the game is delayed 4 weeks to add more Qunari hair !

I think pre-order cancelled is mostly joke.. some might even cancel it but I doubt it's only over qunari hair and if they chose to do so they can, they are customers after all.

I get that there is limitations but I'd be happy if the qunari had hair that was in same level as hair that other races have. Their tattoos have been replaced with facepaint and helmets with horns.. why they need to lose hair on top of that? I don't except devs to make longer or more detailed hair to qunaris but some shoulder-lenght, braided and faux-hairstyles would be amazing.

Personally I wouldn't mind delay for qunari hair, hair is important business and I want my characters to look good. It's big part of the game for me.

@Sofajockey Most of us are in no way asking for a delay of release. We would rather have a post-release patch, or a CC expansion DLC for a few bucks. Delaying release over hair isn't a wise move for the company, considering how many people don't prioritise Qunari, and it's also unreasonable of us to ask for it for the same reason.

Patches and DLC are the most viable solutions for what a wide majority of Qunari fans consider a problem.
