If the qunari were originally designed with bovine jaws, hooves, tons of bodily hair, giant cud-chewing lips, swinging neck flaps, and udders in lieu of simian breasts - then you can argue that a hairstyle is not definitive. (Hell, you could argue that a hairstyle on that sort of creature would look grade A stupid.)

The sad truth is that I really dont think they have time to make any real changes to the CC. We can hope at the very least we will get texture fixes for hair [and beards] across all races before it goes to Cert

In my opinion I think they need to separate the hair and horns into their own sliders. The selection of Horns are great, and detailed I love them.
The Selection of Hair however is horribly lack luster, and is in desperate need of expansion.
Rather these changes to the CC in regards to the Qunari are do-able in the month and a half we have remaining until launch day is not something I know. I'm not a Dev, I'm not a Bioware artist or Coder. I would like to think it is. And I hope for a Day 1 patch, or even a patch that week, that month fixing the issues with Hair and Beards for all Races, but most definitely for the Qunari.
And to the wonderful people at Bioware, please, by all means, educate us on the process. Talk to us. Open dialogue can make for wonderful things. And there are some amazingly talented people here who already did CONCEPT ART for Qunari hair that would work with Horns.
Looking at those, one could be forgiven for seeing quite a bit more than just a passing resemblance between the two. It could also just be the same preset, but we do not know that as of yet.
Not a bad thing in and of itself if uniformity were the rule for the grey giants as a "trait", mind you, but still.
I deliberately used models that had a lot inn common to make my point. Some features are more defining than others, it's the same thing that makes the hair such a big deal. The thing is though, hair is not the only feature that does this. Those two have a lot in common but they do not look the same and I would argue that they do not look uniform.

I would still say hair is more definitive unless the horns are like Iron Bull's or the Arishok's horns. The horns are still quite definitive though.

My core argument is that it comes in a package and that neither one is more or less definitive. We are given the option to not have horns. We are given the option to not have hair. That way the people who find one more definitive over the other can just swing whichever way they please. It boils down to opinion, after all. However, the horns were given far more attention than the hair. We have a lot of horn options and only 4 hairstyles that are each similar and of low quality (especially compared to the other hairstyles for other races). Those who prefer hair get the short end of the stick.
Furthermore, we have all these cool horn options, but they are *locked* onto specific hairstyles. This does a disservice to the horn options because it cuts those choices down by even more if you are willing to settle for less than par hair and celebrate your favorite horns.
See, I'm sorry, but I think everything I'm saying is quite logical. People have different tastes. The qunari's appearance is a packaged deal with options inside. But those options are limited as hell, even when you have other options just staring you in the face.

Also - the fact that the hairstyles are locked into specific hornstyles will make the qunari look more uniformed. All qunari with hairstyle "A" will have a 1 in 6 chance of having the same horns.
Then factor in popular choices in hair and horns and suddenly the majority of players are going for the same look.
I would just say that there are too few hairstyles and they're all ugly. I don't see the need to justify the argument any further than that. Saying I can't tell qunari apart without better hairstyles would be disingenuous, because I obviously can.

I'm sorry you came in on my additions at a point where it seemed that my major, and most forthright concern were not the lack of quality and quantity to the hairs provided. Still some of the mods I posted are definetly lower on the list if you check the regular list with adult mods included... Iirc I think there are some mods that change the sex scenes that are pretty high up.
Yeah, checked it just now. More Hairstyles is nr.3 on the regular most endorsed list.
It's nr.2 on the non-adult list.

Well, it boils down to opinions. Logic is cool and everything, but opinions are also crucial. Opinions conduct the behavior of people - if whether or not they will endorse something, etc. Sometimes logic can backfire on itself, validating something that we are inherently uncomfortable with/deep down know we don't want.
Some people are of the opinion that the hairstyles each look uniformed. Some people disagree with that opinion but they still think the hairstyles are ugly. Totally fine. At the end of the day, we're all sailing around on the same boat.

Yes. And the lack of options.
Example: So far, from my observation, a lot of people have said they like/will settle for the mohawk. That narrows down their horn options to 6. And within those horn options there are two broken horn choices, and one bald choice with those giant necrotic spots.
So that narrows down the "full horn" choices to 3 options. It just gets narrower and narrower...
I'd be really interested to hear from anybody who wasn't going for the mohawk, tbh. I know I'm going for it as none of the other three options appeal to me at all, and I get the impression that my experience is a rather common one.
Is there anybody willingly going for bald/mudbun/cornrows, assuming the bun isn't getting a decent texture upgrade before launch?

I think the other "popular" one that people tolerate is the mudcap/bun thing. But the lack of texture still upsets the few I've seen who are settling for it in order to get the horns they want. Unfair.

If I were to make a Qunari - though right now I REALLY don't want to, I've been put well off - I would make a bald one with horns. It's the only palatable choice for me.
Elissiaro has come up with a tone of wonderful hair concepts for Qunari and I decided to put together my favorite ones
Seriously, they could put these ones in the game and I'd be happy.
