I wonder how many hairstyles are actually used by players.  I know I always go shave head, buzzcut, mohawk, or something ceasar-y for men.  If I make a female character it is usually buzzcut, mohawk or ponytail.  Not a fan of longhair on men, don't want a huge amount of craziness on the gals.  

 

I know that in most games I play i only end up using a handful of styles no matter how many characters I make. It's not just about ones I like and don't like either some styles I just don't feel comfortable using. That said I see other people using the ones I don't use so I dunno if people necessarily all use the same ones. I almost never make a pc with really short hair like a buzzcut or a bald pc but I don't mind those styles on other characters.

Honestly, I think that the most likely thing to happen is what we have already seen is what'll be in game. As for males, it'll be even worse I believe. Maybe a buzzcut, cornrows and bald.

 

I seriously hope not since this would ruin whole concept of my treehugger male qunari ^^; I want at least him to have that mudbun, I can't settle with shorter hair.

Depends on how good hairstyles look compared to each other and depends on players, not everyone likes same styles. In ME1 for example I have only 2 fem!shep hairstyles I can tolerate which is pretty annoying cause I have 3 fem!shep characters and two of them has same hair cause the other options just are awful (they are still better than what fem!qunari has OTL).

 

With DAO and DA2 I had lot larger pool to choose since there was more good hairstyles. I even have to debate with myself which hairstyle I use in the CC. That's not going to happen with DAI, like some people mentioned it will be like going through carbage bin to find something not too rotten instead of having hard time to chose when the hairstyles are so good. It's harsh metaphor but sadly truth of my situations when I'm going to do qunari with that CC.

I really hope a hair DLC gets released at some point--to me it just seems like it doesn't make any sense to include a brand new race if a very important part of their customization was going to be so severely limited. Especially in a Bioware game, where character customization is a cornerstone that everyone knows them for.

Just lurking the forums, I found this and was outraged. I didn't even realize that they showed all of the hairstyles in the demo, I assumed there was another slider they just didn't go into. Just when Bioware gives good long hair to humans, this happens. I'm so glad that there's 68 pages of support for this. The Qunari deserve better!

Luckily BW only accepts muffins and others cookie cakey things only from bakeries as far as I know. I doubt bakeries would be willing to make those ^^

Those horns look amazing! Yet I do see the point of the thread I was hoping for longer hair styles and if the hair style is linked to the horn style that creates a huge problem with customizing considering I would want to pick any horn style and link it with long hair. I think BW was going for the warrior look but not everyone wants that.  Looking at the links provided since I can't just cut the ones I like and repost them

1st image left is a witcher style and I like this one

 

2nd row left I like the bangs here they're cute but the hair needs to be long and down so you can't see the ears

 

4th row right love the mohaw + dreds combo very unique and allows for a warrior look

 

5th row right Long and a great use with the bangs however as a stand alone look the only thing I'd add to this is several strands of long hair in front of the ears so the ears will act as a part.

1st row left - dreds are always nice and the ear is parting some of the hair like I mentioned would work well prior

 

1st row right - Absolutly love this one! So creative to have the hair actually winding around the horns! I would however really want a toggle option with this one so optionA is bun style like shown but option B combines the 5th row long hair style from link 1 I'd really use the long hair with winding hair option

 

3rd row left - I'd also like this with a toggle option as I love the braids wrapping the horns too! So option A would be like shown and option B would again be long hair straight out comboed with the wrapping braids on the horns

4th row left - this is a perfect style just like it is! Its a beautiful layered look thats just so right for a midievil rpg I would love this to be a two tone option so you can see little highlights the player could choose each tone.

 

I don't know if they can even add in new styles this late in the game but they should definitely look at those options and make DLC for their usage especially if its like a 15 - 20 hair do lot for a low price.

If a Twitter campaign is intended to communicate the concern to BioWare, then I have to say they already know.

 

If a Twitter campaign is intended to exert pressure to 'force' BioWare to add such hair at the earliest opportunity

then asking nicely on a Q&A is much more likely to be successful.

 

BioWare are in the midst of pre-certification crunch.

At best such a campaign communicates enthusiasm at a time when nothing can be done about it yet.

At worst it can come across as a community tantrum or bullying.

I think the goal is to make Bioware aware of the issue, how serious it is and how many are having the issue with qunari hair. So they know that it's important for many players to improve and expand qunari hairstyles. Also some response from them would be nice.

Totally agree that Qunari got the short end of the stick with that hair. Brrr.

Also, if you're going to have horn stubs at all at least make them a little more noticeable (3D) rather then being dark bruises on the scalp - I cannot think of a single horned creature in the world that has had their horns cut flat to the scalp without at least some protrusion. This way it would look (somewhat) better bald, and still not interfere with what should be fuller hair if the player chooses the "no horns" options.

 

At the very least, arrange more hairs in a buyable DLC - I'm sure that since the hair options won't be there in the main game, people will still be willing to shell out a little for an add-on as the next best thing, as long as it's an option (I know I would, and hopefully very soon after release).

 

But in the meantime, I'll be playing all the other Inquisitors first and coming back to Qunari when some hair mods or DLC is a available - in all good conscience I cannot leave my Keep looking utterly dismal.

Um No offense...but this post makes me sad. Doesn't anybody care about the actual story and lore?

 

There is more to this game than hair.    

 

Would you honestly want them to sacrifice something storywise just for the sake of hair?  Its reeks of entitlement. 

 

And yes I do understand it sucks but you can't get everything  you want in this world.  The fact remains this forum counts for a small percentage of gamers.  

 

Making demands is not going to get what you want.   And game design is not as easy as you think.

 

Another thing some of you don't seem to realize  is that these games are cross-platform.

 

While PS4 and Xbone can handle certain things, PS3 and XBox360 cannot.

 

They have to make the game with EVERY console in mind.   

 

And finally what a concept artist makes and what is actually doable in game are often quite different. 

 

The game is close to release. All you can hope for is a DLC and hopefully it won't compromise anything else they have planned.
