Please rethink qunari hairs.. or lack of them!

Well, since this is the feedback and suggestion portion of the forums and the devs said the hair options are locked in, can we "FEEDBACK/SUGGEST" a DLC option for better hairstyles? Maybe that was their plan all along to make extra money. Give the fans some poopy hair and then release DLC with better styles. I jest as I type that. (Man I really hope that wasn't their angle.)

So anyway....

Would it be possible for Bioware to release an "upgrade hair options" DLC for say 1.99?

It would be cool if they released extra options along with a mirror like the one in DA2 that lets you change your appearance. I would buy that DLC. I used it a lot in DA2 to change my hair and to make my Hawke look older in the final act.

Imagine it in DA:I.  You could have your character slowly gain a collection of scars or have a qunari start with horns and then lose them in a battle or something.

you ignored the first part of my thing. It included that we did not even see the the hornless options... do those not count as hairstyles?

Mike says we saw all the styles.

Let me find the tweet.

Kallen originally posted it.

User

@Mike_Laidlaw @Cameron__Lee were those the only hair options for qunari that we saw? or are there more?

@User That’s them.

Edit: Weird looks like it was removed? I can't find it.

Anyway there were about 2 options left in the hornless category. Seeing as we saw the same four (or was it five) hairstyles repeated for all the horned options...

Here's the rest from the twitter thread

User

1/2 Could you offer some reassurance that casual combat will remain easy? Scared seeing @Cameron__Lee die so fast on normal.

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw

It’ll be lots easier than that.

User

Narrative difficulty (god-mode?) sounds nice. :)

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw

Easy is easy. You still have to play.

User

are hair options locked in? Bc the lack of medium/long hair for Qunari ladies is really disappointing

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw

Locked. Sorry to disappoint.

User

what are the super shiny bits on adaars horns

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw

Metal cladding

so yeah what we saw is what we're getting. Yay.

just because its a shooter does not mean it isn't an rpg. it has pretty much all the elements of an rpg, except with guns. Now stop trying to argue.

Except the people who made the game did not call it an RPG but a FPS. It can have RPG elements, but it is recognized as a FPS.

Same as while Mass Effect has Shooter elements, it isn't a Shooter.

I would pay through my ass for better hair options, and I'm poor as heck.

Well I hope there's DLC that lets us have longer hair for a qunari. Honestly I was hoping for hair like Lagertha's "battle hair" from Vikings.

Just imagine this on your lady qunari.

also if you're only gonna have 4 hair options, you could at least make them available to each horn type s:

There should be the option to mix and match the hair and horns imo. You should be allowed to have the hair you want with the type of horns that you want.

Haha that is how things like da2 happen. If anything people should be raging and bitching and all that, until something is done.

Because if there's one thing that Bioware fans have singularly proved, it's that they don't ****** quite enough.

Also this. wtf. It's not even like the hair could clip with any of the horns as short as it was. What was the point in slamming them on one slider.

Someone with a twitter (I don't have one) should tweet to Mike, asking about a DLC option. Even suggest that we pay extra for it (which is admittedly unfair but still...)

Let us know if he responds?

yes! I love a lot about Dragon's Dogma CC. Especially the option to alter body types and wasn't there even an option to assign a type of "attitude" to your character's walk etc? Very cool.

There's a lot of great hair in that game (especially with the add ons in Dark Arisen) but I think my FAVVVVORITE CC hair is Guild Wars 2- SO much variety. Cutesy hair, short hair, long hair, anime(??) hair, locs, cornrows, pirate lass hair, wavy, soft, accessorized, braids of all kinds, go go dancer hair??? lol...

and the LONG HAIR?? THE MOVEMENT?? I mean ugh just cascading and swishy. I just.... <3___<3

350px-Norn_female_hair_styles.png350px-Human_female_hair_styles.png

anyways, on one hand I feel bad for complaining, because there is much I did like about the CC for DA:I but it's frustrating when time after time BioWare fans have spoken up about the company's clear struggle with a variety of fashionable hairstyles and then we get this?? And we can't even specify which hair and which horn combo we want when there is a slider for adam's apple or eyelash style?? I just. I mean this game has been what 3 years in the making?? I realize Qunari race might have been added towards the end of things, but either way, there's not really a good enough reason for this to be so limiting considering the rest of the intensely detailed customization. It's definitely a let down. It also scares me about what is to come for the other female races in the hair department... Trying to not get my hopes too high. :/

As for Destiny's CC?? Not that great imo. Some really fun hair styles yes but not that many tbh and a narrow amount of customization options. Hopefully Bungie will expand on that eventually....

anyways we love you BioWare and hold you to such high standards, sorry if we are hard on you, but at the same time, it's because (imo) you are the best. So you gotta WORK ON THIS darnit. I wanted to make a Qunari inquisitor with cascasdingly long hair!!

At the least BioWare needs to allow the player to select which hair and which horns they want- AT THE VERY LEAST. That should be a given. I mean it's truly bizarre that it's not an option. Idk

they are. watch the video. he says something like all the hairstyles are available for all the horns. my guess is you have to go into the detailed section to change it.

::crossing fingers::: I'll pay a few extra dollars at this point. Though for integrity-sake I find that a bit low on any company's part. Though I don't think they masterminded it and are trying to extort us. I hope. And their developers deserve every penny for the time they might sink into expanding the hair options for DLC. Plus if you see the options and you don't like them - you don't have to pay for them. So that's a good thing.

The rest of the hair looks alright

Males and female share most hairstyles and there were plenty that could've worked for a female qunari.

But alas.

I haven't watched the stream but is the hair style the female qunari mage had in the demo an option? I really liked that one :P

Well, what we've established is that it's too bad I can't get Dragon's Dogma on my laptop. How about we move back to Inquisition?

Yes. It's such an amazing hairstyle. I don't understand what the issue was aside from the horns wrapping around it. But even with the horns, I don't see how it'd have been an issue.... :/

I think the one she's wearing is the 'bun/two cornrow' style hairstyle actually now that I look again..

I'm kind of disappointed, too.  I don't think I'm ever going to cancel my preorder, but I wasn't exactly impressed by the options for the female Qunari in terms of hair...or the horn options.  Then again, I kind of did get my hopes up concerning how many options we would have...and besides the underwhelming hair/horn choices, the character creator definitely looks great.  I'm just hoping that I'll find a male hairstyle that looks halfways decent for my male Qunari Inquisitor.

Do I think there could have been more variety?  Maybe.  Depends on how much work it would actually take to bring it up to our exacting standards, and not look half-assed.  I definitely don't want to wait another 2-3 months (blind estimate) for them to model and test new hair pieces.

Can I live with it?  Yeah, I think so.
