Normally I wouldn't pay for DLC thats aesthetics only but if it meant more hair options for qunari I would buy a hair pack DLC for them for some more choices, I'm really looking forward to playing qunari but the very limited hair has put a slight damper on that excitement. And not finding any of the hair options at all pleasing to the eye I really am hoping to hear word on if there is going to be a patch or DLC down the road since I can't stick a helmet on them.
Please rethink qunari hairs.. or lack of them!

That's really too bad. Even bald I find the qunari quite striking and beautiful. I think my qunari Acantha will still be my first playthrough.

Before all this they would've been my 2nd or 3rd choice. But now, I don't think I'll ever play one(unless more hair comes later). I mean, I'll probably start one up to see if I can stand any of the styles in game. But I really doubt I'll be able to. Either way, it won't be about which hairstyle I like most but rather which one I hate the least.

how difficult do you think it is to add new hair styles into a game? it takes time sure but its not difficult by any stretch of the imagination
Are you serious? No, it's not as simple as you think.

Don't be ridiculous, fixing bugs and glitches is far more important than hair. What, you would honestly prefer the game be so buggy it would be unplayable if it meant more hair? Please. He could have been a little less....short in his responses. Then again, I have no room to speak because I was equally tactless in one of my tweets. But I do find it curious they decided to delay the game to fix bugs and not the gigantic glaring flaw that is the qunari hair selections.

I don't think 4 hairstyle options would be such big problem if they were up-to par of rest of the CC and hairstyles that other races have and if those hairstyles would be closer to what qunaris have had in previous games, concept art and comics. None of current hairstyles seems fitting to qunari in my opinion since they are so far from everything we have seen qunari having as hairstyles before.

Good for you if you like it but how about people who want long hair? All hair options is short hair. I want long hair

Honestly, I find the 4 hairs thing just baffling. I mean I have never played a game that had less then 5 hair options for any of their race/genders. At least not that I can remember.

I haven't played game where you do your own character with only 4 options either. I guess that's why they are in horn slider and not into hair slider so current options are just something that comes with horns instead of being hairstyles. It really looks like they decided to cut from qunari's hair a lot. It's just so unfortunate.

I dunno. I'mma gonna wait til I've got the game in my hands to lay my final verdict. The build they were showing off isn't the build I'm going to see. And things always look different from being recorded there to me playing my game in my home. So. We'll see if I can't make the hair styles work.

You're never going to get hair *that* long no matter what - hair physics would mean it would clip into the body like crazy, unless it was static, in which case it would look horrible as well so they wouldn't make it. Player-made mods will probably cater towards it though.
I'm all for long hair, or at least longer and more hair options then currently exist, but to those that are talking about it as if it should be easy to just add in: unless you've seriously tried your hand at 3D modelling, rigging, and all that goes with getting it to work just so in-game, you need to stop blowing it off as if it's something quick and simple (it's really not, and I speak from experience - it's time consuming and sometimes frustrating as hell).

I do hear you, however...
This is the compliant. I don't think the folks behind the hashtag movement would care quite as much about the poor textures and lack of qunari hair styles (especially for the females) if they could just craft a spiffy helm to cover it up. They can't, so that's why they are pretty frustrated about this.
Oh sorry for that. In that case I can understand the commotion a little. Still it would be a lot of work, if they would need to edit each and every helmet to allow horns to stick out.

That point is a little moot as Qunari won't be getting helmets - and no one is asking for them either. It's also straying a little off topic.

Personally I consider what humans have here as long hair: (x)
I'd love our qunaris have as long hair as the humans have.

I know, and that's what I'd love, too! However I would safely bet that that hair is not a purely static mesh and would indeed have its own unique physics ('movement') in relation to movement of the head and environment. That would require quite a bit of remodelling so that it actually frames the horns and looks of decent quality on Qunari as well as animates in such a way that doesn't clip the horns (so it would be changed from the other races in that, too). All I'm saying is that it's very easy to underestimate how much time and effort goes into making something like this if you've not tried your hand at it before. Rigging is a pain in the butt - not hard, just pretty tedious and time consuming, so rather then those people saying 'I don't see what's so difficult about it', it may be better for them to reserve judgement in that aspect until they have experience and context to judge by.
Anyway, just my opinion. ![]()
Oh and also, agree with what has been said about the iffy textures of the existing Qunari hairs - not up to par with the quality of the other race hairs. Do other races have those particular hairstyles and textures too (like the mini 'hawk), or is it strictly Qunari?

I'm trying to take this seriously, really I am, but it is far too strange for me to think this defines whether or not you play a certain race AFTER you decide you want to.
Another perspective if you'll allow, if it hasn't been mentioned in the past 79 pages. I'm a glass is half-full guy, rather than seeing the Qunari hair options as less than other races, I see it as more customisation we've have in previous games. Seriously, the Qunari are a new race to be playing as. They already did a great deal of work with the different horns and inventing vitaar in lieu of headgear for Qunari, all for a game I seem to remember them saying would only have a human protagonist in the beginning. The fact they have done this much is impressive enough so I forgive them for falling short on one small aspect in an expansive list of customisation. All I can ask is they do even better in future titles.

What's so strange about wanting to create a Qunari character whose look actually appeals to you, especially considering you have to stare at it for hours as they run around and close-up in cut-scenes? Especially when in previous games Qunari had been shown with long hair, etc, and set a standard of that race that most who wanted to play Qunari came to see as the most obvious option coming in to this game, at the very least. How is it wrong to have such an expectation when not only previous games but numerous concept arts (AND race selection cards prior to the cc in the video demo) led us to believe that it would be true for Inquisition too?
Race selection shot from video demo here - note female qunari card on the right:
It's a cop-out to try to justify the hair situation by saying 'at least you get to play a Qunari - you never could before, so just be happy with what you've got', when the Qunari are just as valid an option as any other race in this game and so should have the same considerations attached to them (particularly as Bioware knew, and freely acknowledged that the female Qunari inquisitor had the most hype attached to her in the community).
Yes, horns are important, and I'm sure everyone is appreciative of that variety, but *hair* is such a defining feature of a character's look (and I'd venture to say has an even greater significance to female players playing female characters and who get no real hair variety from this, much less appealing feminine hair like the other races do); furthermore, spending a lot of time on one aspect and making it look fantastic (horns),and then putting it right next to an aspect that is nowhere near of the same quality as horns or what the other races get (the hair) just devalues the entire look. And if you're going to bring up the whole 'there was only going to be humans' argument, then you could just as easily point out the fact that they spent a lot of time on hair for elves and dwarves, and plenty of time on a bunch of different horn styles whose quantity you could argue was less necessary in number then hairstyles were, so why should Qunari miss out in that regard?
Anyway, I say that as a calm argument (tone can be hard to tell in writing, at times), just to make that clear.
Just because it doesn't bother you, or make sense to your mind, does not make the points we're putting forward here any less valid or true.

We haven't still seen all the hairstyles that other race have. I have seen post that included many of hairstyles male humans have but I can't find it now. There is some of styles though in video mode 4:00-> 4:20:
I think some of them look bettr than some but the hair quality seems to be better than what qunaris have.

Not too true, I met my brother's (ex?)girlfriend and still didn't get it. Though I do think you make a point, there is no one I want to impress and I otherwise couldn't give a damn, so I don't care for my own appearance all that much.
Thanks for bumping the thread and contributing to the post count, people who don't support the cause!
I'll point out that while I'm not against "the cause" and consider it a valid criticism, I think at this stage asking for more in Inquisition is futile. The game is a few weeks away from shipping so the priority will be making sure that what is there works. "Better luck next time."
