I'll point out that while I'm not against "the cause" and consider it a valid criticism, I think at this stage asking for more in Inquisition is futile. The game is a few weeks away from shipping so the priority will be making sure that what is there works. "Better luck next time."

I addressed this point a page or two back in the thread. Nobody expects anything to be done before release. Indeed, Cameron Lee has stated that isn't going to happen.

If they could patch in a few hairstyles months after release, or maybe package them into the first DLC that's made for DA:I, that'd be enough. I'll just put of playing my Qunari character for a while.

Most people in this thread are very aware that nothing can be done before release about the issue, except maybe some simple texture fixes maybe. The rest of us are hoping/pushing for a post-release patch or a CC expansion DLC.

Don't be ridiculous, fixing bugs and glitches is far more important than hair. What, you would honestly prefer the game be so buggy it would be unplayable if it meant more hair? Please.

I seriously doubt the bugs they were fixing after the game was delayed were gamebreaking.

Not too true, I met my brother's (ex?)girlfriend and still didn't get it. Though I do think you make a point, there is no one I want to impress and I otherwise couldn't give a damn, so I don't care for my own appearance all that much.

Which is why I specifically said -- in regards to the first thing you said here -- that *many* men care about it, not most men (but hey, I've known a number of men who rivaled any woman with how much time they spent prettying themselves in front of a mirror). I didn't say anything about you yourself being on that list, and wouldn't have expected you to be - again, if you were you wouldn't be asking why the hair is big deal. ;)

As other people have already pointed out, Cameron Lee clarified that there is no possibility for more hairs to be added in the main release, and since then we've only been talking about adding more Qunari hairs in relation to a possible DLC or patch at some point after the release; in fact, some people were even mentioning a paid DLC option before his post about the main game. The point is, we're not demanding anything and we're trying to be as reasonable and respectful with our hopes for this to come to fruition as we can.

Hell, it may not happen at all, and if it doesn't then we may be lucky to have player-made mods to fall back on when they're made, but as long as we can show an ongoing and strong community interest in this, and remain amiable in our communications, then nobody can fault us for our agenda or method. :)

Chron' you're pushing on a subject we cannot verify, and that is becoming totally off topic for this thread.

Asking for more hair options isn't even necessarily about wanting to look "pretty" either. It's about the ability to make a character that you like, which means there needs to be variety. At the moment 2 of the hairs are very similar (bun and cornrows) and two are very niche (bald and mohawk).

If I want to make a no-nonsense Qunari warrior who isn't butch, for example, I would like some kind of ponytail or something. That's the kind of option I would have expected to be a given in a high budget game about choice and personalised characters.

I guess the cornrows are sort of OK? I can't decide which of three hairs I dislike least.

It changes the entire look of a character.

These are the two most important points about the choices of hairstyles available for a game protagonist.  One might just as well ask why it matters if the CC is able to deliver as many different eye or skin colours as it does.  After all, everyone should be happy with pale and green or blue eyed, right?  Why should it matter if you don't get to have brown eyes or be darked skinned?  It's only eyes!  Only skin!  What's important about them?

Everything relating to being able to customise the look for the character you want to play, that's what.

Here's an update on the opinion poll: 311 folks have responded. Seems like the majority of respondents do not like any of the styles.

Doesn't surprise me at all. What surprises me is that Bioware's dev team looked at the pathetic Qunari hair options and thought that would satisfy anyone with a shred of self-respect in their appearance. :P Seriously, though, you'd think Bioware would poll test their hair options with a focus group to gauge the general reaction... It would have saved them the headache of (hopefully) releasing a patch or future DLC to fix their lack of foresight...

Some peeps you can never satisfy.

I like all of them and just excited in general to play a new race they took their time to put in and model, and learn more about the qunari, that one of my top 3 reasons of getting this game.

I think it is to get a clear idea of who thinks what. It's a quick infographic instead of needing to read the entire thread. Besides, we know that BioWare uses telemetry, so this is trying to give them data in a way they are used to.

It's a good thing people are providing feedback this early, DA2s infamous cave shows that bioware is willing to listen. With this vocal criticism, it's likely they'll improve on customization in general in the future, perhaps early in the form of an expansion or patches for inquisition. :)

I'm a big nerd and I love numbers. I dunno. I was mainly curious to see the numbers.

I had to find the perfect photo that captured the facial expression I make everytime someone comes into this thread, bragging about how happy they are with the hair.

Edit: Also I'm a hard person to disappoint or be dissatisfied. It takes some amount of effort. I'd say the quality of the qunari hair is a legitimate thing to express dissatisfaction over. I guess I dislike being maligned with the demographic that will complain over every tiny iota of a video game. And as if the people brow-beating us for voicing complaints about the hair have never complained about anything in a game ever. Yeah right

I'm generally easy to please as well. The only other time I felt this motivated to make a fuss about something was during the whole ME3 ending fiasco.

Even if we assume that the actual resolution is just a pre-release bug (like the absolutely horrid scruff options, which look like textures that didn't load completely), the actual styles of hair are (IMO) pretty bad.

Apparently my qunari will have a mohawk.

Yeah that was a big one. I just started ME3 a week ago so I never experienced it, and I guess never will since there was a patch that fixed it, from what I've gathered. (Haven't beaten it yet.)

The only big stink I made aside from the qunari hair, was in regard to DA2 and the reused environments/maps.

Seems like there are going to be a lot of screenshots of qunari with mohawks. Which means there will be a lot of hawked qunair with 1 of the three full horn choices, since the other three include hornless and broken horns. Talk about diversity!  <_<

Edit: I kind of want to stop calling the hornless option "hornless" and instead call it "blotches."
