Please rethink qunari hairs.. or lack of them!

Most games get patches after their release anyways, or some DLC with more options. They saw us being disappointed, I bet they're considering doing something about the hair after the release. Nagging them the whole time on twitter and whining about it, or telling them you cancel your preorder, though? That's insolent, disrespectful and egoistical.

 

There are so many positive things in the CC, but I see most just want to focus on the negative things. //sighhh

 

I think you are assuming a lot about people who are asking for qunari options. Twitter "movement" was to show devs that there are many people who wish more options and twitter is best place to reach devs. We got their attention and message from Cameron Lee so now we know that our issue is recognized. There barely is any threats and insults flying around. People are mostly disapointed and are asking for more options as patch or DLC and thinking what options would be nice for qunaris. We want to give this thread up so it doesn't get forgotten after release. That doesn't mean any of us is bombing devs with angry tweets or messages. :rolleyes:

 

The feedback here is mostly negative (though many have said they like CC otherwise and like horns) since the thread is about lack of options (+ quality of current one's). I think we have right to give this feedback in feedback section even if it's negative.

 

It's kinda sad how we get attacked by fellow DA fans cause we aren't happy with four hair options. In tumblr, on here. People saying how it's wrong to complain at all and say we should be happy of other things. Maybe those people should mind their own business and not try to say what other should prioritize and like in their games. Maybe they should stop insulting us.

I think it's so rude to make a whole twitter movement out of this issue.
You can think what you like. Meanwhile, our goal is to get a patch or DLC to rectify the issue. We can't do that by sitting around with our thumbs up our butts. Was it rude of ME fans to pressure BioWare to fix the ME3 ending? I only started playing the game and I can honestly say that I'm grateful for whatever pressure they put on the devs, knowing I will not have the same poor experience as they did...

Either you're disappointed or the issue doesn't really bug you that much. If it bothered you enough, you'd feel the need to speak up. (Clarification: You don't *have* to speak up, but you would feel the need to. Hence, you'd understand where we're coming from.......)

 

The devs did not exclude so many options, just because they didn't care or didn't have any ideas, though. From all the races the qunari had been added last, have they not?
To my knowledge, the qunari were added one and a half months after the elf and dwarf races were announced at E3 in 2013. All three races were announced within the same quarter. 

 

They did not include them from the start, because of lack of time. Lack. Of . Time.
They did not include all races aside from human because of lack of time. They delayed the game for an extra year. Then they delayed the game another month. 

 

They won't get more time from our whining and constant bitching about every single issue that did not live up to our expectation. They're not machines that spit out 3d modelled hair that is working with no clipping-issues, they're people who try to get a game released until the deadline.
The goal of this thread is to request a patch or DLC, post-release. Meaning - at some point in 2015. If there are people insisting we get changes now, they are misguided, wrong, and have the same level of reading comprehension regarding this thread as you do.

It's super easy to draw hair, now go and do that in 3d and with no clipping. They don't lack creativity for gods sake, they lack time.
The hair designed for elves and dwarves and humans is superb. Assumably, those do not have clipping issues. Elves, dwarves, and humans do not have horns and neither do hornless qunari. Qunari with horns could stay relegated to the incredibly short styles, but those styles could stand some texturing. Also, I explained the time argument. I'm getting tired of repeating myself. 
 

 

I am glad they included the qunari at all. If someone won't play a qunari just because of the hairstyles, well, that is their bad. Personally, I find that reason to be ridicilous, you can play awesome-looking bald characters as well.
That is your opinion. That is not a fact. It is irrelevant.
 

 

BioWare has been working really close to their fanbase and they have been listening to us. Most of the companies don't even do that, so why are people so entitled and goddamn rude right now? The devs are human beings, so show some empathy for once.
Maybe ME fans should have showed some empathy for the ME3 ending. Or maybe not. The patch fixed things and the company is all the better for it. They'll sell more copies and collect more satisfied customers. This isn't a romantic relationship - this is a business relationship. BioWare has every right to respond with, "No. We are not going to work on a patch or DLC in 2015. Deal with the qunari hair that you are given, forever." But that is bad business and it will alienate their customers. In spite of that, it is within their rights. BioWare is not expected to cottle our feelings, just as we are not expected to cottle theirs. But we are the ones with the money. And our concerns and suggestions aren't outlandish.

This is what we've been saying all along, therefore we agree. Henceforth, the entire first portion of your argument is aimless.

No one is nagging the devs on twitter. What you're saying implies harassment. Are you capable of providing proof of a developer reacting on twitter because he or she is being harassed? There is a hashtag and the devs are free to ignore it. As for canceling the preorder - apparently one person said that as a joke, and he/she did not say they were canceling the preorder to boycott the game. He/She said they were canceling the preorder to buy it elsewhere for cheaper. A fan with zero complaints about the game is capable of doing this exact thing in order to save money.

Negative thing*. There's no plural. The negative thing is the qunari hair. And we're focused on it within this thread plus that twitter hashtag. We are not invading other threads. 
The CC is awesome. I'm excited to make a human and an elf; there are so many options. I am not excited to make a qunari. I am disappointed by the lack of options. This is not wild behavior whatsoever. In fact, it makes sense.

Although it'll probably be PC specs, devs said awesome PC news is coming out this week.  Hope it's a toolset (or at least an ETA of one) for mods; probably not, but one can hope! :D

What a hope! It would assuage so many of my worries if they offered a toolset, man! Then we could mod away and this issue wouldn't be so predominant.

It's always only PC though. Poor console players are stuck on what BW gives us :unsure:

I'm trying to think good sides of CC so I can become more happy with it and characters I'm trying to create. I like how we can have unnatural eye colors. I wanted one of my qunaris have yellow eyes and other skye blue so that can happen. Also I like the idea of having white eyelashes. Maybe freckles for qunaris are option too. Unluckily it seems like no eyebrowns isn't option, that's one other thing I would have liked one of my qunaris to have.

I'm really happy about the unnatural eye colors too!

 

When I played DA2, I used a mod that let me edit default Hawke, but the only change I made was to give each of my three Hawkes an exotic eye color.

So, I'm really happy that if/when I get to recreate my Hawkes in Inquisition, I'll be able to give them the eye colors I modded in. :)

Maybe because people can't give hundreds and hundreds of dollars to a gaming PC.

I'm really happy about the unnatural eye colors too!

 

When I played DA2, I used a mod that let me edit default Hawke, but the only change I made was to give each of my three Hawkes an exotic eye color.

So, I'm really happy that if/when I get to recreate my Hawkes in Inquisition, I'll be able to give them the eye colors I modded in. :)

 

It was such bummer you couldn't edit default Hawke. She had best hairstyle and face-model to start with ^^; I don't use defaults ever cause I want to do my own so it bothered me that I couldn't use that hairstyle and also face-paint thing on the nose.

 

I can't wait to see to remodel my Hawkes on the DAI though. I can give my blood mage red eyes yay, he had orange one's in DA2 since they were closest :)

Oh this I understand...but you can get a pretty good gaming rig for just a little more than a new xbone or ps4. The one i am about to build is only going to run a about $900 and then I can upgrade as  I go when i can afford the $.

Oh this I understand...but you can get a pretty good gaming rig for just a little more than a new xbone or ps4. The one i am about to build is only going to run a about $900 and then I can upgrade as  I go when i can afford the $.

 

Well gaming computer that's any good is about 800 euros here, PS4 is 400 euros. I'm not getting either though, my PS3 will be enough for me :) Not mods though.

i wanna do something similar, but i want the outer irish to be red so red lining over a yellow inner iris. Should look very intimidating to non Qunari.

I will always play on a console. I enjoy my console much more than a PC. The reasons as to why are irrelevant since it would just start a console vs. PC debate which is, in my opinion, one of the most absurd arguments ever to vomit itself into existence.

Pretty, looks like colour of honey to me ^^

 

With CC we can make pretty nice eyes I believe since there inner and outer-ring things so you can pick complimentary colors.

 

I think I will mostly play around with colors of eyes of my qunaris and then have white hair and pale grey skin. I hope the facepaint has option similar looking to Kirkwall qunaris, I'd like that mushy red that colors everything it touches XD

I'm going to end-up playing on my laptop as if were a console by hooking it up to my big-screen tv with hdmi and plugging in my usb wired controller.

 

Best of both worlds, lol.

Without the current hair problem I would really not have anything to complain about CC. It's better than excepted in most parts :)
