Okay well I am sad then, bit of a set back for me since this qunari was going to be hornless and have dreads but since neither are really an option now. Maybe I can find something to cover up those sploctches maybe darken the skin or something. Might be weird wanting a truly hornless option for qunari but it was an option I was really looking forward to. I love what else I've seen so far and of course I have no idea how hard it might be to put any of this stuff in but I can't help but be dissapointed in the qunari hair and 'hornless' option.

Actually, they did show several that were truely hornless.

That one is not even hornless, that is one of the ones with their horns cut.

Edit: Nevermind, mistook that one for one of the stubby horn options.

With all due respect, That shows how little you know on the matter then.

If they didn't delay with would have ended up with a game that crashes every five minutes, like Fallout New Vegas....Or most Bethesda games in general.

Really, if it wasn't important they wouldn't have delayed it. They didn't delay it for kicks and giggles.

They said the reason they delayed it was so they could fix bugs quicker since what would take them a month pre-release would take a year post-release via patches. They never said the game wasn't functional.

They have shown every female Qunari hair/horn style. None are truly hornless.

Right, because when a game has glitch that causes the game to crash they always gives up the heads up. C'mon.

And are you saying fixing bugs isn't important?

If there are truly hornless options I would love to see them since this is really the first time I'm hearing about it to be honest, and a truly hornless option would really make me happy since I'm going for a more scholary look to my qunari and think that it would fit better without horns.

There are several hornless options. That they are not to your liking is a different matter. Besides, having patches where the horns would have gown makes a certain amount of sense.

Yes, yes they do. Several companies have said reasons games/DLC/etc were delayed was because the game/DLC/etc wasn't working. They have no reason to lie about it.

And no, I never said fixing bugs wasn't important. I was just saying what Bioware said.

Please post them then. You clearly have proof is you are so resolute on it.

Patches where horns would be =/= Hornless

You're not weird at all! I had my heart set on playing a true hornless Qunari like Sten - one born without horns. :)

I was hoping that there would be some unique reactivity to my lack of horns.

Unfortunately, there is only one hairstyle that covers the scalp where the horns would be, and with all the other hairstyles the "hornless" option looks more like the horns were cut off and then filed all the way down to the scalp.

Oh if you know of different styles released, could you please show us? I love seeing the screenshots, since I can never seem to find them on my own.

The question is what would Sten look like now. If he would have "patches" or whatever, then I guess that's as hornless as it gets.

His hair would probably be covering them

Well, covering some of them. He has cornrows so you'd see them in between the rows.

The patches on the scalp texture for hornless qunari wouldn't be a problem if there were more than one hair option that covered them.

After seeing the 'hornless' option for the qunari all I can think about when I see them now is that scene from the TV show Reaper where the demon couple are filing down their horns with power sanders to better fit in with humans or something like that. While humors for me it doesn't scream no nonsense either so a mix bag to be sure. I'm still strongly hoping for a hair DLC or patch or anything down the road for qunari.

Just as a heads up, Mike rarely responds to me when I tweet him.  I wouldn't read much into a lack of response.

In fact I can only recall one time when Mike responded to me directly, and it was a retweet of something I said to him so it could be argued he didn't actually respond to me.

lol... i guess i should feel lucky. i actually got a response some time ago:

@Mike_Laidlaw hey, mike! after playing SaintsRowIV i was hoping we might get some indepth customization on DAI like that. any possibilities?

Mike Laidlaw ‏@Mike_Laidlaw  21 Sep 2013

@_______ We’ll do our best, but SR is one of the best character creators in the industry, and only deals with “human” sizes.

@Mike_Laidlaw thanks! great to see you're trying! :) yes it is, but just more flexibility in facial structure is the least we're asking. :)

end result was showcasing the character creation a year later... not sure if i had some part in spurring that on or it was already in the works, but it's cool to see they pay attention from time to time. that's what i like about bioware. good or bad, they care what their fans think.

Yes, the character creator (especially for face creation) is incredible. My human and elf Inquisitors are going to be gorgeous!

I'm very pleased with the character creator overall, and grateful to BioWare for making it happen.

...that doesn't mean that I cannot be disappointed in certain aspects of the character creator, such as the Qunari hairstyle selection.

...nor does lobbying for change mean that I hate BioWare and don't appreciate what they've made.

If I can make Eavan (my human rogue) into a replica of her: portrait-of-redheaded-woman.jpg

I'm sure you can!

While I'm in awe of the amount of detail in the CC, I'm not sure how deep I personally will dive.

I'm not sure I trust my skill at face-making to do anything more than minor tweaks to one of the presets.

I love face messing. Besides, I can always re-set if my skills fail me, haha.

I find that making a good looking face that isn't based heavily on a preset generally requires a fair amount of knowledge about facial ratios, the kind of thing that only artists tend to know.

I generally pick a real person to model it from, and use reference pictures.

I think I have facial instincts... I'm no artist and my PCs rarely look like the presets (although my first ever playthrough I accidently created Anora's twin) but they always look really nice. :)

And... I'm humble-bragging. Just ignore me over here. :P
