Regardless of the topic, a sample size of 300 just isn't statistically significant.
I guess no one should ever use a focus group then.
They're not machines that spit out 3d modelled hair that is working with no clipping-issues, they're people who try to get a game released until the deadline.
It's super easy to draw hair, now go and do that in 3d and with no clipping. They don't lack creativity for gods sake, they lack time.
I am glad they included the qunari at all. If someone won't play a qunari just because of the hairstyles, well, that is their bad. Personally, I find that reason to be ridicilous, you can play awesome-looking bald characters as well.
If you actually take the time to look at those 3d drawings, you'd see that 90% are short or pulled back and would need little to no movement animations and would not clip. Even a shaved head instead of waxed bald would be a hundred times more appealing to me and require no modeling or animation, and would not clip with anything. Just a texture applied to the head.
It's not just the ugly and unfashionable style choice that's the problem. (though they could have made stylish or cool hair of the same length and coverage as the existing ugly hair) My main problem is the lack of volume, depth, or texture in the existing hairstyles that originally gave me the impression that they were imported from a 10 year old game until I realized 10 year old games made an effort in the texture department. I'll post this again, BioWare's KotOR 2004 and DA:I 2014

Look at the texture and modeling of the Qunari hair and then look at the texture and modeling of the other race's hair. The other races hair looks like a lot of work went in, it looks great. The Qunari hair looks like someone accidentally used resources from Morrowind.
