Please rethink qunari hairs.. or lack of them!

It is a shame there are only short hairstyles available, but I imagine there was some kind of issue when the hair and the horn are in the same place. It's a shame, but the hair options are locked.Sorry, but I have to disagree with your opinion. Hair is a crucial aesthetic for the design of any character. The horns are crucial to the qunari anatomy, though you have the option of a hornless qunari.
I noticed the arishok's hair right away. I thought he looked a bit like a rockstar with some pro-wrestler glam thrown into the mix.
BioWare could have done better with the qunari hair options, seriously. That character creator is sophisticated enough to let you adjust the size of an adam's apple.
Also: Even the qunari tarot card has long hair....

@milkymoonshine: Fair enough - so, then please explain to me why the Qunari should have resources devoted to horns, facial tattoos as an interchangable accessory (when nobody else presumably gets unique helms) AND hair?
I don't want the game delayed another month for hair extensions personally - there's only so much time they can give to every race.
I apologize if my perspective offends - but I think people should just be happy with what they have instead of always focusing only on what they don't. Like - you know, as of a year ago qunari not even being available.

Feh I'll probably still make a female one eventually.

Hornless Qunari should have had the same number of hairstyles available to the other races...
Because that's not an option, we should certainly be able to mix horn style with hair styles...
Because that's not an option, DA:I's first DLC should be a character creator supplement to fix that. I would seriously pay $10 for more hairstyles for Qunari/LONGER hair for both genders/better hair texture (it honestly looks the same as DA:2)
I mean, you added an entire slider for LIP SHINE but only gave female Qunari like four ugly, short hairstyles??? Dumb.
And the broken nose thing is cool but I would have sacrificed that for more hair styles in a heartbeat.
That's just my humble opinion

Well, this is a good a place as any to share my dreams before I bury them. So. Qunari.
1. A checkbox. Hornless ?
2. A slider for horns, that would be greyed out had you checked the previous box
3. Hairstyles. Bald, one Buzzcut, Short (cropped), Medium up (bun), Medium down (cornrows) and one Long style
Horn decor 'helm' for those who left the box unchecked, regular helms for those who did.
That had been my dream.
By the way, the fact that all the horn decor are coverings kinda bugs me. I wanted, like, rings.
It sucks because it's limited (like Zabrak in SWTOR, no one likes their blocks), and the models are so skin-like and textureless, they look like bad toupees. Ugh.
But who cares right? I'm just 'whining'. I bet if humans were so painfully limited, the forums would break from complaints.

Hair and horns do not mix, people. At least not in video games at this point.
The clipping issues were likely a nightmare and garishly awful looking. This decision was most likely due to this technical difficulty.

That's why I'm campaigning for DLC.

Why wasn't there a clipping issue for the Arishok's hair?
Edit: not trying to argue - I'm genuinely curious.

My initial outrage, if you want to call it that, has been vented into various threads by this point. I find the lack of variation utterly baffling and disappointing, but Mike Laidlaw has said that it's locked, so there's not much to be done.
I don't want to raise my hopes too high about the ability of modders to brave the Frostbite engine and plug this gap, but I hope it's possible.
Yep.
I'm just at the "screw this I'm going human til mods fix this." mode.

It's odd because there are female Qunari with longer hair, Rasaan from Those Who Speak is an example. I'm personally not too bothered by it because my primary Qunari Inquisitor was going to have short hair and mods will be created by the time I make a second Qunari (if I do) so I'm not mad, though I can understand why a lot of people are.

As for clipping it's called having the hair go BACK. And ponytails and buns that aren't the poorly done ones we got.

If you look at the Arishok, his hair is nowhere near his horns. It is slicked back and his hairline begins behind them.
Look at the human hair styles in the the CC vid. They have pieces of hair that start at the forehead line right where the horns sprout.

My opinion is that he was devoted resources appropriate to an extremely important NOV, and that the code used wasn't transferable to Frostbite. Maybe? Why wasn't there a clipping issue for the Arishok's hair?

So about the concept art/false advertising point. It's unfair, concept art happens before they start designing this stuff in game. A whole bunch of decisions are made on how certain characters and aspects of the game will look and on various options available to the player for various different reasons, these decisions generally come after the concept art. This is why some of the characters and companions look nothing like a lot of their concept art.
I never expected to get what we saw in the concept art, I am disappointed because it was even worse than I thought it would be but Bioware never mislead us about the Qunari or made promises about hair options.

Shame they added like 10 different variations of "one horn shorter/broken off" instead of ONE feminine/longish hair style... How many people are honestly going to use the asymmetric horn look? ?

How can anyone complain about the CC? The little video showed already showed it being better than probably both CCs from the first 2 games combined. Not only that but if you're on PC since it uses sliders you'll likely be able to double and maybe even triple your options in those sliders simply by a short mod. An example would be that the face hair sliders do not support every type of variation you can have but with a small mod you could add them since the engine already supports it for you. Probably even take features from other race options and try those too. It's going to be awesome. The CC is almost MMOish. Surpassed my expectations.

Why can't we have hair like the female Qunari's original concept art? She clearly has long hair that's pulled back into a ponytail of sorts, with a couple free wisps hanging down in front of her face... It was a gorgeous style that they should have included.

Not me. I know some will, but a lot of us wanted pretty qunari ladies. :/

I might now, because I'm going to have to revise my character to fit with the new short hairstyles. She's going to have be much more of a brawler than I was intending...

I like the horn variations they gave us, and the hornless option is really cool. I'm cool with what we got, you can always have more I guess, but I like what was shown.
