Hey, I'm with you on that. I'm just saying that Bioware's not investing enough in their CC. That's the problem. Not that doing hair is easy, but that doing hair on top of what they're doing is costly and they're clearly unwilling to invest in it.

That's not really true, they said they was gonna look into adding more hair options. As for the textures of the current hair we still have until the game to see if Bioware can clean that up

I'm still under the assumption that the qunari hair issue was due to a lack of time to fully add them

I disagree with you completely. The actual face is incredibly important to me, and I absolutely loathe games that have any kind of dialogue that does not feature substantially on the face of the PC that I crafted.

How I look is fundamental to who I am. My current hairstyle is something I can change. If I let my hair grow out, I could have that disgusting mohawk or bun that the qunari males have. What I can't do is change the shape of my nose, or the height of my cheekbones, etc.

I'll agree with you that I find facial customization very important. However, the way you wear your hair is also fundamental to who you are, for the very reason that it can be changed. It's a reflection of your personality. Someone who has a mohawk comes across very differently than someone who wears a braid or shoulder length hair.

Being stuck between a punk-rocker look or a stern librarian look with nothing in-between makes it harder to RP other archetypes. Even if the face doesn't change, the hair can really set the tone of your character.

I have to agree with Ares about it being a lack of time. 2015 is a full year's worth of time, and I'm happy to give it to them just to see better hair options. I don't mind waiting.

I feel like we are repeating all these arguments XD

Hair is not important! -> For some people it is and CC overall is important, hair is foundation of it.

It's rude to complain! -> This is feedback section.

Hair is hard! -> They did hair for other races, why it suddenly is hard for qunari?

Qunari's are warriors, hair is not important for them -> What about concept art? Doesn't make sense lorewise.

Concept art isn't what's going to be in the game -> Qunari had long hair previous games, comics etc.

Horns are much more important -> For some players yes but not everyone, some qunaris are hornless.

You had too high exceptations -> We just want as good/long/variable hair as other races have.

ACTUALLY.......... you are right. And I was thinking the other day that it'd be sweet if you, with the help of others in this thread, could outline the "attacking statements" and pair them with our repetitive explanations/retorts and maybe add it to the OP? That way when someone comes in here and issues the same old attack, we can link them to the OP and tell them to read our responses there. lol!

Well some of these are already in the OP XD I wonder if people don't read the OP before they comment though ^^

Naw, it's rehashing old arguments which is how such threads grow and gain the numbers they need to say, see this matters.

When the people who care are willing to rehash these arguments over and over again in defense of what they desire, it merely shows how important it is to them.   As long as we're arguing we're making a statement, without it, thread dies and the appearance of things just blowing over occurs.

Oh hohohoho! Your wonderment is likely correct!

Sidenote: It's even worse when you read controversial news articles and then look at the comments. I can't believe how many idiots didn't even READ the article! They're just replying to the headline!

Persuasive argument. I agree. (Your cunning must be high? lol)

DD on the other hand has very limited options for creating faces, which Bioware focuses on a lot more.

The two-dimensional slider on a grid is neat but I don't think I will ever use that to fine tune face shape.

I will be perfectly satisfied with the slider that changes the head shape (much like what is offered in Dragon's Dogma)

On the other hand, I am completely UNsatisfied with the hair options offered.

I still think the reason why qunari hasn't have better and more hair options was lack of time and resources + prioritising to other aspects of the game. I don't find other arguments really valid here.

Bioware's hair problems come from Bioware's CC and focus on cinematics. The only other games out there that are RPGs either use custom NPC models or don't really feature cutscenes substantially (this would be skyrim).

Creating workable custom hair is hard when you have to do everything else in the CC, and Bioware apparently puts low priority on hair.

None of this is to excuse them, they should be investing more resources in good hair, but just to explain why comparing them to other games isn't quite right.

I almost wish that when BioWare starts working on the CC that the first thing to be worked on and completed is the hair.

If there are time restraints and hair is so difficult, start working on hair first and fix your priorities to get it done.

You're right in that regard, and I didn't mean to actually apply anything to the crimes against good taste that we have with the qunari here. The hair is ugly, it's limited, and we need more options. I don't contest that, and Bioware needs to step it up.

I just meant that in the abstract, I'm OK with 4-5 "good" hair options, whereas the face is much more important to me. But in this regard I have the advantage of liking short hair, so basically anything reasonable and short is OK with me.

The hair is only hard because BioWare seems obsessed with making them out of wood. Down with wooden hair!

think about it like this, let's assume the 160 hour (I think thats what they said) of content in the game is something you can willing change around and keep interesting for multiple playthroughs by altering World States. My personal opinion that's potentially 5 extensively different world states based on previous decisions.

So at least 5 world states of sizable differences, x 160 means you could potentially have 800 hours of various playthroughs. That's a lot of hours, divide them up right and you could be playing for weeks (assuming you play for 5 hours a day or less) thats like 160 days worth of playtime... more than enough time for bioware to crank out DLC and some patches for hair. :)

That particular style probably wouldn't be to hard, and would be easier to animate than say long straight shoulder length hair. This particular style is neck length and wouldn't hang down touching or clipping with anything. They could animate a few patches on the side and back to account for wind movement when running or standing in windy areas, lol ironically you could look at a few of the Dragon Ball Z Bodukai games and see exactly what I mean.

Indeed. I mean... I could totally see that hair being an issue for a horned qunari, but definitely not hornless. I'd love to give that style to an elf, though.

This is a sentiment I've read before from other posters that I don't understand.  I may leave a game for years, but I always come back to it eventually.  I've never gotten so sick of a game that I could never play it again.  I still play my SNES and old CD-ROM games when I can.  I'm getting ready to replay The 7th Guest here very shortly, as an example, which came out in 1993.

Sorry for the side tangent, but this is something that has always puzzled me.

It's not really never as much as it is not for a while. Especially when there's newer and shinier games to take my attention.

omg I used to play the 7th guest all the time! Lol and I'd get scared. In my defense I was only 12.

I was 14.  It isn't really as scary as memory would serve, and in some ways has aged very poorly (the clunky interface and the form of movement come to mind.)  However, the voice acting is still topnotch, the puzzles are still nicely difficult (and yes, the microscope puzzle AI is still a cheating bastard,) it's quite creepy and I think the story itself is timeless.  I know it's up on Steam right now for $5.99 (US).

Perfect for Halloween.
