Personally I always wondered why we couldn't have a style like this one, for example. It could be largely static (with perhaps the exception of a few small wisps, if they wanted to try it; I don't think anyone would care if they didn't though), could easily be made not to clip the armor, AND is suitably feminine. Plus it's a style that could suit any female, not just qunari. One of many~

*Snip*

See, at least something like that, I could work with. My preference is for a ponytail or bun (since braids are almost always out of the question, and I've fully come to terms with that), but I wouldn't mind something like this in a pinch. I was honestly expecting a selection similar to what we got in the Mass Effect series - that is, a range of mostly short or pulled back hairstyles, and I didn't think that was unreasonable given that we've seen those implemented before. They're static and uncomplicated (aesthetically), but they do still give some impression of volume and length.

The tightly-pulled back mini-bun is the only one that remotely comes near my usual go-to, but that weird bald patch in the middle and the implied shortness/thinness of the hair (plus the textures) really throw me off.

I doubt they will release it free of charge. Since when has Bioware ever done such a thing?

Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut. A 2 GB SP DLC that was free.

Yeah but that was in response to massive outcry. We're a ways from that.

This is Cameron Lee's response from earlier in the thread:

Hey guys,

We've heard you, and It's awesome that you're so passionate about your future Inquisitors. We'll be shipping with the horn and hair options we have now. We may look into this post release but no guarantees.

Cam

That's probably more a response to people holding up pictures and shouting, "Look at this! How difficult could it be!" than a response to the issue as a whole.

I don't think it's official cause David Gaider is charge of writing deparment but probaply doesn't work much with animation and CC one. I think what we got from Cameron Lee is closer to official in this case.

It doesn't necessarily mean "**** you" in a nice tone you know. It might be more like "Sorry but too late to change now, we could fix it later but can't say yes for sure because that's not how it works". Probably the latter

Well the Cameron Lee's comment could be just nice PR talk or then they will really look onto issue after release. It can be either way ^^

it's also "awesome" that he feels "awesome" about we concern about the very character we play

Nobody ever said that, though. Those images were created by loyal fans who were merely demonstrating some examples of the hairstyles they had HOPED would included in the game/trying to give the devs inspiration to create some really cool female qunari hairstyles in a future DLC.

No one here ever said "if I can draw hair on top of a screenshot, Bioware should easily be able to re-produce that EXACT style in the game!"

Gaider was insulting us by insinuating such nonesense.

Yeah, I interpreted Cameron Lee's statement as being a bit sarcastic and dismissive. Honestly, while I appreciated that he took the time to respond, I was a bit annoyed by what he said. Or rather, what he didn't say: to date, none of the devs have even come CLOSE to actually addressing our concerns.

I don't understand why they can't just answer a couple simple questions regarding some of the baffling decisions they made (like why a hornless qunari can't use some of the hairstyles of the other races, for example...)

When fans asked why they removed healing spells and the allocation of attributes at level up, someone from Bioware typed up a long, detailed reponse.

We got a perfunctory, patronizing pat on the head.

Well, the fans are saying the same thing to Bioware so on a human level I can see the reaction. Unfortunately they're in the PR business as well.

He said they'd consider adding new hairstyles in "an expansion", which, to a lot of people here, would be disappointing compared to patching the game to improve the texture of the existing hairstyles/allowing us to pair any existing style with any horn OR releasing a Black Emporium-esque DLC.

An expansion would mean a longer wait and, if I understand correctly, wouldn't retroactively add more hairstyles to Inquisition... That means we'd have to play through 100+ hours as a female Qunari with ugly hair and then import her into an expansion, like Awakening, where we could FINALLY change her hairstyle.

I could be wrong, though, and hope I am!

He can't have meant an expansion ala DAA because they also said that's just not happening full stop.

Oh really? I honestly hadn't heard that... I guess he just misspoke during the Twitch stream cause he definitely said "expansion", but, to be honest, I'd rather just wait for a full blown sequel.

Yea I have read that one too but the twitter response seemed to be for qunari hair in particular taking accord timing and how it talked about drawing over screenshot.

I'll never play a Qunari at this rate :(

I've already given up all hope of playing my beloved female Qunari mage :'(

I resignedly switched my first playthrough to a male Qunari mage, but the fact that we haven't seen ANY hair for male Qunari is kind of worrisome...
