They should add a full needs bar like in the sims to be realistic. Your inquisitor shouldn't be able to dance on to the next battle, and they shouldn't be able to quest without going to the bathroom at least 4 times and eating twice, possibly falling over from exhaustion and sleeping in the middle of a darkspawn filled cave. It will require you to plan your battles and puzzle doing around how much your inquisitor needs to eat, sleep, or pee, peeing himself in the middle of combat would have dire consequences. He could die of embarrassment or at the very least be distracted enough for the enemy to kill him. It would also hurt the Inquisition's reputation making conquest harder when everyone calls their leader pee-pants.

And if you pee yourself in the snow, your pants should freeze on you and require cutting off, causing you to lose the whole armor set. You should also have a negative charisma modifier in the desert if you are wearing heavy armor, because you are sweating profusely and stink.

I get that they didn't clarify if the focus group heal spell they talked about is still in the game?

If you don't want to go back to camp too often , you will have to pay attention to different game mechanics.

There's ways to take almost no damages in fights .Barriers , Crowd Control , Good DPS etc...

So now even on easy , crafting , taking good perks , having basics knowledge of the different class etc ...is rewarding.

For example , you have a dragon with heavy fire damage , it's a bit hard but you can kill it with your whole party alive without too much sweat. You could craft an armor with fire resistance , but let's face it ,it's not really worth it.Everyone's fine at the end , the fire resistance would only make the fight slightly easier.

If you have no healing , and no regen ...that armor you crafted means less damage taken = you don't have to go back to camp limping.

Now I'll be honest , I'm not 100% happy , my first playthrough I'm mostly interested in the story  and party based combat isn't my thing.

I'm waiting to play the game ,It could be a drag or it could be fun.

I really hate the idea of having to craft a certain kind of armor for every major boss fight.  That sounds really tedious and not fun at all.  I accepted the fact that you had to in the past prepare yourself for a few major fights with certain important skills and resistances, but if we need a different suit of armor for every different elemental dragon that will get old super fast.

I don't think forcing someone to play your game a certain way, just to sell a new crafting mechanic  is a good idea.  I had full intention to use the crafting to some level anyway, so nerfing everything else in the game is over board. Whatever, I guess I have no other choice but to "limp back to camp" after any serious battle.  I mean if the devs have that much trouble with scrub randoms-I am not filled with confidence.  (Cameron was using all those buffs and shielding things, and he still got his butt handed to him)

while it could be he sucks, making games leaves you little time to play them. or was distracted by talkng. maybe the character builds were slapped together really quickly so they weren't working as well as they should.

Erm ... when did he say "you have to craft a new set of armour for every boss in the game"? He said you could craft a set of armour with fire resistance if you wanted a little extra help but you'd probably be fine without it.

I get that some people are fearful of change but you are not helping yourself or convincing others of your argument by twisting suggestions and amplifying the drama.

We don't know how frequently we will find and unlock new base camps while exploring. We don't know how often heal potions may drop. We don't know how long barrier cooldowns are. We don't know how long it takes to build guard. We don't really know anything about the difficulty levels othet than one dev wiped while he was not really paying attention.

In short there is a shed load of things we don't know which may mitigate much of the panic in this thread.

you think this is panic... you must be new, this is still reasonable. you want panic you should see the star trek online forum after cryptic does anything.

May I suggest trying out normal difficulty first and then downscale to "Scrub Casual" if it's too hard.

This is not about spam healing, difficult or Multiplayer issue. This is about Mage. And Mage who can not leran Healing Spell is not a MAGE!!! (can't learn / decide not to learn is very different thing)

I never have problem with anythihg in Dragon Age Inquistition before. This is the first one and it's worst thing for me.

Ps. Don't worry Bioware, I still buy your DAI. And I definitely play as a Mage like before. even a Broken One.

There might be a group heal spell that requires focus.

Yes I believe this is the case. There is also a group revive at the top of the 'Spirit' tree.

Oh for heaven sake, this is getting silly.

"A Mage that can't heal is not a Mage". I guess that Merrill and Morrigan who I never specced into healing are not mages? I can bring down a storm of fire, summon the dead, freeze my enemies, suck their life force, make my friends fight faster, protect them with invisible barriers, make their blows hit harder and strike fear and confusion into their targets with a wave of my staff, but because I can't rub a bruise better I am "not a mage" and the class is "broken".

/facepalm

Jings crivens no. I used to frequent the Champions online forums and vowed I would never set foot in another MMO forum ever, ever again. I used to come away from there angry, depressed and feeling like I'd been run over by a giant slug. Shudder.

In case this hasn't been answered yet, yes.

Does that mean that we can revive them or they wake up after the fight is over?

Well when it comes down to it if no one can get past the first few levels due to dying from lack of healing, then people won't play the game. And I am pretty sure the forums will explode in anger and the game will get bad reviews and word of mouth.

That being said, I would assume that that they would have some sort of beta testing for the game and if it's that big of an issue they will address it before release. (I would hope)

I sometimes wonder if I'm the only one that has seen the gameplay videos where the Inq and party were absolutely tearing through opponents barely taking a scratch.

As my sig should testify, I'm very aware people have different skill levels and firmly believe they should be supported, but if anyone is thinking that BioWare has turned this game into Dark Souls I think they are being overly pessimistic.

At a fundamental level you are now required to cast a spell proactively rather than reactively. The rest is mechanic changes  - and BioWare changes mechanics in every game they have done in recent years, Mass Effect and Dragon Age included.
