... some people who played as pro templar act as if pro mages are naive and some even thinking Meredith or Alrik had the right idea (atleast, I think I can recall it from some time ago). They sympathise with those they support, and takes on aspects.
I guess, in a ironic way, we elvhen supporters do the same. We have a secluded group, which (it feels like atleast) is a tight knit group, who spend our time talking about the awesomeness that are the elves. Does sound a bit familiar, yes? :-)
Or, I am just assuming alot...tis atleast a theory
It makes sense for people who like certain parts of fiction to gather to talk about it than others (like people who like mages more than Templars), and for people who like certain parts of the fiction to dislike, look down on, or feel indifferent to others (like elf fans being less fond of human nobles and vice-versa).
The problem is excessive negativity, aggression, and harrassment. We didn't make a secluded elven group because we wanted to segregrate ourselves from non-elf fans, we were kind of driven here because it's not safe to talk about elves in the general forums, because of excessive trolling, derailing, and Dalish/elven bashing.
I can understand fans of humans and Templars and whatnot liking elves less because the two are diametrically opposed in terms of physical build, in-game cultures and values, roleplay fantasy type (*cough*sociallyprivilegedpowerversustrueunderdogs*cough*), etc. I just don't understand for the need for players who like one aspect of the game to go out of their way to seek out and harass fans of another aspect of the game even though they aren't stalking or trolling them.
