That is so pretty.

Too bad we can't have anything nearly as good.  :crying:

Now, while I do think it is indeed a pretty drawing, it just looks like a human with horns stuck on. There's nothing "Qunari" about it. It might as well be a person in a fancy dress costume. The results of the CC are, from what we've seen, certainly less attractive but hell, isn't that sensible? We're human, our tastes will logically tend more towards humans. By making qunari women less attractive, they're emphasising that they're not human. It gives a much more believable, immersive feel that if all the non-humans are just recoloured humans with horns or long ears.

I know that but  i could not play as Female Qunari for 25 plus hours i like to play each race and class and gender once

Missing my point. You can make the face as feminine as you want. Saying you can't play a female qunari because the prests models look masculine is base less because you can change what they look like.

There is a lot "Qunari" about it. The eyes and skin are unnatural colors for humans, the hair is rare for humans who aren't older, and then there is the horns. Other than that, well the Qunari is a humanoid creature so there are going to be similarities.

And the fact is it is a CC for our protagonist. There should be options available for a variety of wants. Want to have them look completely alien? Fine. Want them to look similar to humans? Fine. Both are supported in lore, and thus the CC needs to reflect that. Otherwise what is the point in having a CC at all instead of having a set character?

It's not always that simple there are limitations that get in the way whether it's the game engine, animation, or time and resources

In this particular case:

Game engine can handle it.

Animations can handle it.

Time they had plenty of.

Resources they had access to.

So none of those work.

(...) game development is a shell game — you are always giving up one thing in order to get something else. You kill your darlings so that the others might live, and if you’re not the sort of person who can mercilessly pick which of your beloved children are your favorite then you will not survive in game design.

It does make it mildly insulting when someone comes along later and suggest that the darlings you killed didn’t have to be killed at all, like they know better — Frank down the street didn’t kill his darlings, right? (And you’re thinking, “hey… didn’t Frank used to have fourteen children and now mysteriously only has seven? Or did I go insane during the last crunch?”) But you’ll have to forgive them, because there’s no reason why they would know the truth… and, I suspect, every gamer deep down suspects the only reason a given feature doesn’t make into a game is because the game dev hates them and hates freedom.

You don't delay a game for six weeks if you have plenty of time.

The lack of hair options is further proof that support for at least cosmetic mods are needed.

I am quite pleased with this image.  A qunari with undeniably black features.  He looks great.

Whoops this thread is about femQunari.  But still, he looks awesome so I'm keeping this here.

where did you get this?

Well quite frankly I don't care what Gaider's opinions are anymore. Haven't for a while.  <_<

The 6 week delay was for bug squashing, so different department.

I'm sorry you feel that way.

But it's not so much his opinion as him explaining how development of a game works in general, and specifically resource-  and time-management.

Look, at the end of the day, the options for qunari hair/horn combinations may be disappointing. I'd have loved to see some longer hairstyles in there as well. But the fact of the matter is that there aren't any more options, and the best thing to do would be to accept this. I'm not saying you should stop voicing your disappointment though, as constructive criticism can always help.

At best, we can hope that Bioware patch more hair-styles in post launch for the Qunari but it probably won't be their priority. Those hairstyles all look awfully horrible, I must agree on that.

I like the horns. Personally I was hoping to have these kind of hairs:

Spoiler

I was also hoping for some smaller horns like these, but all the options are these huge curved things and the only smaller ones are the broken and sawed off horns.

I wanted to play a qunari who was born without horns and I was really excited that "hornless" qunari had been confirmed for the CC!

Until I saw what BioWare meant by "hornless":

To me, this looks like the horns were completely removed, not that they were born without them. I'm extremely disappointed.

The only hairstyle/horn combo that remotely appeals to me at all is this one:

Spoiler

Before the CC reveal I was looking forward to playing as a female Qunari and I was going to bench my human and elf Inquisitors to do the female Qunari first. But now? I will be doing human first and hoping there are mods or DLC with more/improved hairstyle options for Qunari by the time I get around to my third playthrough.

i dont understand people who moan about the qunari females not looking classically fem/beautiful when they have never even been touted as such, by wanting to play a qunari in the first place youd think it was something people would accept as a given. All that being said, the character creation tool is very robust, and you can easily make them more fem, the chin can be made thinner, eyes larger, there are even options for thicker and longer lashes, make the brow bone thinner, cheeks slightly fuller, raise the eyebrows slightly, bring the eyes down slighly lower on the face, bring the end of the nose closer to the top lip, add some blush and voila, more feminine!

That's not the 'hornless' option.
I'll see if I can find a picture of the hornless Qunari for you.

Um, yes they have.

This is official art accepted by Bioware, and her face matches what is considered 'classically fem/beautiful'.

you can easily achieve that look, if you know what you are doing, sans the hair of course.

That particular hairstyle just covers the horn craters - they are still there.

I can't accept being limited to ONE hairstyle to feel like my qunari doesn't have any horns.

Easily is a huge stretch considering how the defaults are set up. I won't say it isn't impossible to get that facial structure(though knowing my luck it atually is impossible) but it definitely isn't easy.

And the fact that there are no good hairstyles for it ruins the attempt anyway.

I am generally quite impressed with CC, and that includes female qunari (which is incidentally the first Inquisitor I plan to play). I just know that I am gonna spend far too much time making F!Adaar & other Inquisitors, what with horns, eye colors etc.

Only complains I truly have is already mentioned lack of hairstyles for qunari (though horn choices are absolutely cool) and hair texture in general (which wouldn't be so bad if everything else wouldn't be so awesome looking, so otherwise okayish thing is standing out too much).
