I am too.

It is not disappointing. It is disheartening.

Isn't that basically the same thing in this case? I know the words mean two different things but that overlaps here, right?

I don't understand the notion that female qunari have to look classically feminine and beautiful, when before the qunari female was shown for the first time all I really found on the BSN was a want for the qunari female to defy the concept of 'female eye-candy' within videogames. First no one seemed to want that, and now the qunari look too alien or beast-like?

No, it is not the same thing. Disappointing would be "Oh well, I can't make them how I want." Disheartening is "I don't know what to do now." Completely different in terms of severity.

Different people want different things. I've always wanted what I wanted and was afraid something like this would happen. Alas it exceeded my expectations for how bad I would get the short end of the stick...again.

Easily is a huge stretch considering how the defaults are set up. I won't say it isn't impossible to get that facial structure(though knowing my luck it atually is impossible) but it definitely isn't easy.

And the fact that there are no good hairstyles for it ruins the attempt anyway.

did you watch the stream yesterday though? the character creator is pretty powerful this time around far more than any other bioware game, and when i look at those presets i see so much potential, with some tweaking im pretty sure its possible. I made my elven warden, who im using as an avatar, with the dao toolset, from the ugly base fem elf preset. DAI character creator is more robust than the one in the dragon age toolset.I sympathize with you regarding the hairstyles, i knew people were going to be unhappy about that as soon as they showed the hair options for the fem qun, and its understandable

I know people consider the female Qunari as the "default" or most popular sex for the Qunari, but after these videos, I am more interested in the male qunari and my interest in female dwarfs increased.

Um, yes they have.

Rasaan_Library_Edition.png

This is official art accepted by Bioware, and her face matches what is considered 'classically fem/beautiful'.

It's a cc. We can make the face as pretty as we want. That should not be an issue. People who are complaining about the facial looks of the female qunari are missing the point here. The major issues is the limit to hair in game every other race has something functional. It a limit to customization that people take their time in do so are crippled to.

Personally, I have no issues with the face. For female qunari they are very standard for humans. With the cc I can work with that. It 's the hair that's going left field.

Yeah the face can be molded. Especially thanks to the new drag and pull feature BW has going on.

Can't drag and pull that hair tho =/

That particular hairstyle just covers the horn craters - they are still there.

I can't accept being limited to ONE hairstyle to feel like my qunari doesn't have any horns.

You might as well play as an elf that fell into a mud pool. A qunari's trademark is its horns. It's synonymous.

I was hoping that choosing to go hornless would have some unique reactivity, since being a hornless qunari is significant according to the lore.

I fnd the horns all a little weird. I want to see horns like the Arishok had in DA2, one big set, a couple of smaller spikes underneath.  These one s like like they stuck antlers on her head.

This is exactly what I thought! I was hoping for more Arishok-esque options, as well as just horns that felt like they were really a part of that characters skull and not just tacked on- the male qunari's horns look like they're really grown out on the skull. The females' felt like you could snap them off. =/

That said, there are cool options. But.... not at all what I was hoping for.

Indeed. Like I always said, the total lack of quality in terms of hair compared to every other race is killing me. Just killing me. Texture-bad, model-bad, volume-bad, style-bad but I could've dealt. If they were going to stick to three plus bald, they could've made em better. Plus, comparing the quality of the hair to the quality of the horns right beside it really puts the hair to shame.

If that were true Darth, why would they even offer hornless as an option, or not choose to retcon Sten back to being horned? All tranquil were pushed back to branding...

Honestly, with how bad the hair looks in terms of quality though, I have no idea why hornless is an option at all. They look silly compared to other races, like they varnished a clay helmet or something.

True, but we've know that since the E3 demo. That being said, male qunari have this weird skin-not-darkening to the point of contact with horns, so it makes them look a bit silly side by side. Both genders just need work when it comes to point of eruption and hair, as I'm sure hair is the same on both sides (though I suppose males could be worse, the only male Qunari we've seen have been bald in DAI).

I'd like to point out that desiring the option to make a "conventionally attractive" female Qunari shouldn't be shamed any more than desiring more representation in the character creator for unconventional beauty.

Me, personally? I wanted an undercut mohawk on a hornless qunari who would be a tough mercenary warrior with a wisecracking sense of humor. But we don't even get a decent-looking non-femme hairstyle like that!

Having no horns is just as significant in qunari culture, so telling someone who wants a hornless option that they might as well play an elf, is not a fair statement. So no, horns are not the trademark of qunari, id say its their height, especially considering the fact that, thats what separated Sten from everyone in DAO

I'd settle for medium length hair at this point.

It's really just about wanting a look that suits the character we want to play, isn't it?  It's hardly asking for the moon or screaming a tantrum for impossible options.

The horns removed down to the skull kind of disturbs me. It must have been like cutting your nails to close the skin times a thousand. And let it be known that my toes are itching just thinking about that.

they probably used the barber surgeon's anesthetic (some strong alcohol to drink or Mallet to the head) then they chopped the horns off, but considering it;s the qunari i;m guessing the former

I was just hyped on the horns that I couldn't fathom the idea playing a qunari hornless, regardless of what the lore details. My comment wasn't meant to impose nor dictate how people will construct their qunari within CC. Different strokes for different folks.
