Wouldn't lyrium overexposure require direct fluid contact though?

I mean; i get the idea but just not how to implement it...maybe the german approach?

Irradiated mercury was planned to be a catalyst for nuclear detonation, perhaps charged lyrium could detonate and spread it's "particles" over an area and poison those within it?

Mmm; perhaps that avenue would work.

But lyrium is expensive, i'm not sure even the Chantry would spring for just having it explode even at Tevinter.

can lyrium even be charged like that? Thedas doesnt have a strong grip on psyhics

Not at all, direct contact with the physical substance leads to rather unfortunate side-effects for everyone, but especially mages.

I was thinking of having it released as a gas. Inhalation of Lyrium dust is a big no-no even for Dwarves.

Lyrium can explode; its used Dwarven explosives.

So obviously it can be enriched to the point were it and other active components can effectively be explosive.

Gas; makes sense.

Direct inhalation and skin contact.

More vectors for it to spread over; increases lethality over all.

But how to get it that way...maybe configure along the lines of those annoying smoke grenades, have lyrium sand or dust be carried along with it.

But the issue with that is, how to propel the fragments over an area and just not have them disperse over the point of detonation.

Remember this is going to be carried in a rocket; one that is likely going to be configured to explode on a fuse system when its in flight.

Mmm.

I think i have an idea.

Secondary explosives to propel the lyrium.

I was planning for such a thing to help disperse the Qumak but it would presumably work for this as well.

Well, if we're already at the point of launching a rocket into Tevinter I wouldn't worry much about the specifics behind the delivery of the gas >_>

Sounds feasable.

What if you use a ballista mixed with a propellant to launch it

Well come one Baconer!

I actually want someone in the story to sit down and explain this ****.

I'm just reconverting a Qunari explosive substance into something they likely never thought it possible to use for.

I was actually going to use a very primitive european method; involving having the projectile straightened across a wooden beam and fired directly upwards on an arc towards the general direction of the target.

Directed fire though would, at least in your proposed method require one hell of a Ballista.

Like a massive one, this isn't going to be a large rocket but it is going to be a rocket.

Its all theoretical anyway; the entire premise of the rocket attack relies on captured Qunari technology and methodology.

Mass production of Gatlock is a given but there are other issues as well.

Well now that you mention it; That is how forces of the Exalted March  enter the Archon's Palace.

Several members of Senate dosort of erm...sell out the Imperium once the capital's walls are breached to survive the invasion.

The Archon is slain and the terms of surrender are received by a self appointed successor.

Who promptly moves to a villa in Antiva <.<

Where are you getting that much lyrium?

Or that many surface Dwarves willing to work with it in the form of one giant explosive?

You'll blow up your precious Orlais before you scratch Tevinter.

It actually isn't going to be a "giant explosive" the explosives are components to disperse the lyrium, and they are gatlock.

So in truth you wouldn't need very much lyrium at all, just enough to be spread over a area of a few hundred meters.

Oh and Tranquil mages thank you very much will be handling the final preparations of the device.

biggest problem would be templars breaking into the armoury to get their fix.

how sad would it be to launch a bunch of bombs only for them to do nothing due to the divine junkie army sniffing the catalyst.

Another fevered dream of a southern sycophant. Dumat laughs at the bumbling plans of the misbegotten. The imperium has nothing to fear from anything. Minrathous has seen every enemy it has ever faced crushed and broken. None have and ever will enter the eternal city as long as Tevinters man in, it will never fall. Dumat laughs again, laughs from his golden realm.

The idea that any southerner would even stand a chance is...comical at best. Clearly that maker drivel that the chantry spews in Val Royeaux has fevered their minds. Hah!

Why would they do that when they are being provided lyrium?

I mean clearly they need weekly if not daily dosages of the material sure, but if that was provided wouldn't that actually be a more evident problem?

I mean the Templar order tends to be more disciplined, that said again you wouldn't need much.

Probably less then what is used to enter the fade waking by mages all across Thedas daily.

Considering that lyrium smugglers build a tunnel in DA2 to get the fix to the templars its rather big business and the whole concept of disciplined templars is one of the funniest jokes i ever heard from you.

You need physical and mental discipline to use their talents and to be a warrior period.

.-.

So yeah.

The neutral option for the mage templar conflict is just busting out a tonne of lyrium.

Least til the Lyrium ran out...
