For someone who hates all things Tevinter, you spend alot of time in and around Tevinters.
Honestly I am sick of boot licking, chantry lobotomized southern barbarians lurking in here, cant we just have them executed be done with it...I put it to a vote.
Ooc ( why are people i here posting anti Tevinter fanfics and taking up pages with nothing at all related to supporting Tevinter, go make an anti Tevinter thread be you so inclined)

1:what can i say we know how to party.

2: yes they have commited crimes before mages so they must be punished

3: it keeps the thread going when no one is here RP so we dont fall to page 2

During the high Imperial period, the gallic and italic type helmets offered supreme protection combined with superb visibility. They were far superior to Gladiatorial helmets which were big, clunky, heavy and lacking any modicum of visibility. Sure a gladiators great helm could take punishment, but the gladiator couldnt see nor move his head properly.

this video shows re-enactments without the hollywood stuff, as you can see not all are the big lumbering helmets but even the big ones aren't so impractial when you see them in "combat" never suited for a battlefield but there protection is a key reason why knights adopted key elements from these designs.

also as you can see they wore bugger all armour the helms doubled as a way of knowing who was supposed to be whom.

Oh Im not arguing their lack of usefulness. They are perfect for what they were designed, smale scale personal close combat and taking alot of blows. Gladiator while a personal favorite, is not even remotely accurate. All one has to do is watch the opening battle...too much for me to nitpick here, that alone could fill a thread :P

The byzantine era saw the empire change from a Latin and traditional Roman culture to a heavily eastern influence and adoption of a Greek based culture. Early on the Byzantine Roman empire thrived on rich trade routes and brief periods of expansion before a long and slow decline. The empire was overrun by christian knights from the west during one of the crusades. Said knights later formed their own nation briefly from captured byzantine lands. The expansion of Islam greatly cut into what remaining territory the empire held in the east. The byzantines, as their economy began to shrink and territories disappeared found themselves warring against the muslims in the east and eventually the turks, who conquered the city Constantinople in 1453 and officially ending the Byzantine state. Internecine power squabbles didn't help things either, but that exists in all cultures.

That's it in a nutshell, obviously there is alot more detail, thats the cliffnotes ;)

Making and maintaining an anti tevinter thread would clearly be too much work apparently lol. Complaining and derailing this thread is easier.

It's normal that they're curbstombed by Bull. In term of Strenght he's likely the strongest character in the Inquisition, Since he's bigger and bulkier then the average qunari.
Facing mages might be different.

It seems Magisters are total ****s when they are defeated?

Honestly if that's the best of all the Imperium I'm not impressed.

It's not the best, rest assured, far from best.

Maybe there will be a giant control rod like the golem control rod. That would be pretty cool.

edit:

@raging_monkey You are right. I just hated being called a "shemlen" or "Bas" and sometimes "Nug-lover". Can't hate everyone because a few had animosity against me just because I'm a mage. Are all mages equal in Tevinter or is it a power struggle amongst mages?

*gives you apprentice robes and takes you to the circle quarters* Its a bit of both.

While magi reign you must earn your place through skill. Slave or foreigner* points to myself* if you have merit and skill you will rise. Equality is a noble ideal but it comes with a price

That looks like it would open up from a slight breeze; not to mention what a well forged sword would do to it...

Yeah Mages should wear **** like that.

Barriers. Maric wouldn't have been able to kill Severin without Katriel's paralytic powder. Who needs armor when you can summon a telekinetic force field?
