We know far too little about how Rivain functions to judge how well Seer's practice works for them. That's another reason why want to see it first hand. But it can't be catastrophically bad if Rivain hasn't burned down entirely by now.

But Rivain is the only nation in Thedas where sizable religious minorities coexist with in the same country. Andrastians, Qunari, and pantheists all have to share power in different parts of Rivain. Plus there is persistent interaction with pirates and possibly Dalish as well that outstrip anywhere else in Thedas as well. It's interesting because it's the most different of all the nations we know well so far.

An insurrection can be called a "minute" issue by the state and it can still be barreling towards a full blown change in governance.

This is akin to :"The Imperium still exists so their methods must work", and they tend to leave out Tranquility, the circle and the rite of annulment all still exist there.

We don't know the scale of the issue, but it can be anywhere from minute to society ending and we likely wouldn't know about it.

Well, it sounds interesting and all, but I'd still rather go to Tevinter first.  Par Vollen or Seheron are second on my list... then Kal-Sharok, Antiva, the Anderfels, and then Rivain... xD

I don't know, sounds like you're describing a lawless hell hole to me. Hopefully Tevinter will conquer the place and give them proper governance after they crush the murderous Qunari hordes.

Well yeah, that's why I said after Tevinter beats the cow people. I'm starting to think you're not a particularly loyal citizen, doubting the Imperium's inevitable victory is heresy  :P

Tevinter is a terrible place but it "works" in the same sense I'm talking about. Neither Tevinter nor Rivain have imploded or collapsed into ruin, so having Seers doesn't cause that.

Nice art, but....*shakes head* as if you could tell a maleficar by appearance.

Also, this is the Tevinter support thread, right? OK: there are no such people in Tevinter. At least not more than everywhere else. This is all political propaganda by our enemies.

[Oddly enough, this is actually quite possible when you think about it. The only difference may be that in Tevinter they can have positions of power]

Tevinter is the greatest power the world has ever known. Blights, exalted marches, that lying blasphemer Andraste and the Qun have all failed to bring us down. Minrathous the gem of Thedas has never fallen. It is only a matter of time till we strike down the cows and add them to our work force, rebuilding all that their godslessness has destroyed. The Old temples will be restored, Andraste's false faith will fall. Orlais will bow and break, she is weak and ripe for plucking after civil war. Not too mention our strength has already been bolstered by the arrival of new mages fleeing the south daily. They will learn true power here. War Oliphants and unbeatable Golems, not to mention the best trained Legions in the world, battle hardened and unconquerable. We have been fighting for years, we are not posh and weak like the former provinces to the south. Dumat wills a Tevinter victory, and we shall have it. We just need a strong Archon with a true vision to take power and drive us down the right path.

If that's true, why would Andraste attack Tevinter?

Retribution against the fallacy of the High Priests. Their attempt at usurping the Power of the Old Gods themselves is what unleashed the Blight upon us.

I must respectfully distance myself from the Andraste is Dumat belief. The great Lord of Silence would never lower himself to appearing as a barbarian fool. At best she was his herald and a wake up call, at worst a blasphemer. Dumat will return and all will be revealed. Until then no end to suffering or chaos, followed by the sweetness of silence.

I have researched the First Blight extensively. The White Divine's prophet is the Dragon of Silence. I assure you.

Loving the research you have put in! We shall see. If you are proven correct I will petition the Archon on your behalf. Until then I will beseech My Lord in the Old ways. :)

*grabs popcorn. Those theories are always fun to read.
Not that my theories are necessarily better (Fen'harel=The Maker), but I enjoy reading them anyway.

Tevinters mmmf... Id like to see this place in DA4 it'd be intrensting, as much as I hate tevinters for keeping Elves as slaves, and sending their stupid slavers to Alienages, I'd like it to be the next DA setting, especially if we can go to Arlathan.. Or even retake it if we can't the Dales.

BUT I am sure not all Tevinters are racist, Anti-Elvhen or even wish slaves.

I didn't ask him for proof, but this is what I was referring to...

Seems like an odd thing to pull from one's backside, no?

WOT page 80, Under the heading Minrathous:

Another wonder is the city's massive arena, Known as the Proving Grounds. This architectural marvel, Built as a triangular prism, Takes it's concept from the Dwarves. The exterior is decorated with hanging, Terraced garden's. Making it a green jewel at the centre of a stone city.

As much as I'd love to lay claims to having pulled such a description from my own arse, sadly i cannot.

It sounds like another relic from back when Tevinter was important.

Green Jewel in the centre of the city is a relic?

Minrathous is still the largest and most populated city in thedas, the decline of the empire does not mean minrathous as fallen into disrepair, For one why would they maintain it's Gardens if it's some abandoned disused arena.

You're taking Tevinter's association with the declining roman empire far too exacting.

Enjoy being a Mana Battery.

He's a brave Soporati, We don't use law Citizens of Tevinter as mana battery's......... only worthless slaves, preferably from Oralis as the more useful slaves seem to get better sleep once they are relieved of that hideous accent.

Depends. In the past they used slaves that were well-treated in Blood magic experiments (said slave preferred to run towards the Dales, in a voyage with High risks, then Stay in Tevinter).
I honestly doubt this is really changed, but we'll see if we'll ever explore deeply tevinter lore.
Possible Dorian will explain a bit how tevinter society works.

I'm counting on that.  I'm also expecting him to get so annoyed by my Inquisitor's incessant questioning that he'll set up an ice wall to block access to his room.

Well treated doesn't make them Useful, it merely highlights how well tevinter treats its slaves, even those useless enough to be used as battery's are looked after.

In any case the Soporati are a free class of Mundanes and citizens of the Imperium, They are not Slaves.
