Atleast this monster used to be a Magister.
He is still a magister. You would be wise to learn from him, he knows much, and is capable of much.
Atleast this monster used to be a Magister.
We will, after he is bound and caged in the dungeons of Minrathous.
*For days their team followed the coastline to north. Thick jungle prevented them from moving fast, vegetation was lush and colorful with moss and liana hanging from the trees and large flowers of different colors bringing different kinds of heady scents. The chirp of birds and insects fills the air with occasional sounds of larger ground animals. At times they had to circle around larger stone and hill formations as they came closer to the mountains. Hills and valleys dotted the area. Because of the hot and humid weather they had to put on light travel clothes, but it was a small help against the heat.
They camped for the nights and in the morning before they would continue their journey he and Nazlik would wander out to see if there are any familiar landscape she would recognize. When they had passed the High Reaches peninsunla latitude while going north they diverged from their path to the beach, hoping she would recognize something.
Days passed and she started to become frustrated and angry. In that evening they camped close to the shore. He and Nazlik went out to walk on the beach. "So what do you think now?" he asked, "is there nothing here wich would give you any clues?". "I don´t know" she said, " I have so much hope that I try to see familiar landscapes everywhere. I´m just fooling myself. My parents are either dead or left this place a long time ago" she says kicking sand around with frustration.
"Don´t give up just yet" he said, "we still have ground to cover", he reached his hand out and a flower flew form the near by tree to his hand. He placed it in her hair behind the ear. "I will not let you give up just yet" he said softly. She turned to him and they kissed.
Suddenly she looked up over his shoulder at a rock formation in the waterline. "This!.. I know this place. This is where those slavers caught me!" Nazlik said looking the beach round-eyed. She ran few steps, "I know where we are! I know!!" she started to run through the beach and into the jungle. "Nazlik wait! We need to wait for the morning! It is too dark here" he shouted. For a few moment he stood there looking after her waiting her to come back but as time passed there were no sign of her. Only the sounds of the jungle. He decided to go after her cursing "By the abyss!"
Jungle felt even more thicker in the darkness. He cast a small light but immediately regretted it as swarms of insects flew to it in a frantic attempt to touch the light. He turned it off and waited for a moment to his eyes to adjust in the darks. The moonlight gave him some visibility for which he was grateful. In the dim moonlight he was able to make out the small path she had used to disappear into the jungle. For while he followed the path and tried to find any clues of her whereabouts. Something big closed in on him in the night sniffing loudly at his presence. He started to pulse power to warn any predator of trying to taste him. The animal in the night took notice and passed him silently.
For a half an hour he walked silently onwards. After a small hill he started to descent down the hill side. Then he stopped to listen, it was too quiet. Someone was talking down in the valley, not far from his position.
While getting closer he started to think not all was well. Then he heard her cry of pain. He started to run. Her scream continued and increased. Now he flew through the jungle, there was only once in his life before when he had run so fast. Cold fear creeped into his heart and hastened his speed. His hands and eyes started to glow and magic gave him even more speed. He ran into a small clearing following the path.
Suddenly a lightning bolt struck him throwing him off the trail and sent him rolling through the long grass. He rose up instantly smouldering from his clothes and hair. The power was not strong enough to penetrate his shield with full force and cause too much damage but it had caught him off guard.
There was a Saarebas standing in the shadows in the other end of the clearing with his Arvaarad. He started to ran towards them power crackling around him. Arvaarads shouted something in qunlat and the Saarebas stepped on the trail to block him and started to cast again. "Out of my way puppet!" he bawled out and ran towards them rage twisting his face. Before Saarebas was able to cast his spell he struck them with the full strength of his rage. Both qunari exploded in a splash of blood and flesh.
He kept running past their remains without stopping and speeded up his pace.
Down the trail he found Nazlik. She was on her knees with s a beresaad soldier holding her head back and a sten standing in front of her with a bloody dagger in his hand.
With a loud scream he stroke both qunari with a force field. The beresaad soldier flew back and disappeared into the jungle. Sten tried to get back on his feet but he grabbed sten with a rage fueled power and squeezed him with clenched fist blood spilling out from his every body cavity and skins pores. Sten squalled as his body crumbled up in a ball as the qunaris blood spilled to the ground.
He dropped what was remaining from the sten and ran to Nazlik who was lying in the grass silently. "My love, no..no,no,no.. not like this" he moaned grabbing her in his arms.
He touched her face and she twiched. "You are alive!" he said tears flowing on his face. "I.." he noticed a blade cut in her shoulder and a bump in her forehead. The qunari had still been interrogating her as he caught them. He looked at the wound, it was deep and she was bleeding badly. That had to be dealt with first. He cut a wound in his had and started casting. This time he felt strange dizziness as life flew from him to her. Her wound closed up and the bumb on her forehead smoothed down and the paleness of her skin gave away for healthy color. His hands and legs started to feel cold and numb. He had to stop the spell in fear of going unconscious.
Nazlik opened her eyes "Ukki?" she whispered. "Yes, I am here. I am so sorry my love for being so late. That should not have happened" he said holding her close. "You look pale" she said, "what happened?". "You were injured, I healed you" he whispers. "Now I remember" she says shaking her head, "there were qunari here, they caught me with magic. They were asking things about a Tal-Vashoth in the area".
"They won´t hurt you ever again" he said touching gently her cheek.
He heard rustling from the jungle and looked up just to see the remaining beresaad soldier attacking them with a spear in his hand ready to throw. Ukki lifted his arm but the power slipped his grasp, he was too weak from the blood spell. He had used too much of his life force to heal her. With a curse he placed himself in front of her.
Suddenly a spear flew from the jungle behind the qunari and pierced him. Beresaad soldier took a few steps with a surprised look in his face and then collapsed to the grass. They stood still waiting and looking at the jungle alerted. For a moment silence lingered and then a huge Tal-vashoth with large horns stepped into the clearing.
"Father" Nazlik whispered.
I'm trying to collect every Tevinter related staff I can find, so I found this Tevinter staff with an interesting backstory while exploring the Hinterlands:
I accidentally read a spoiler about the Venatori in the game guide. Hmmm, it's made me rethink my opinion on them. Wished I could've been surprised by it in the game though lol.
random comment by some scholar in the western approach was rather interesting, plus giving me an idea for an NPC or few that hopefully we can see in the next game. The scholar anyways said that there were tevinter ruins in the area, and thought that the venatori who had come there were just other scholars studying tevinter ruins, he didn't seem to be bothered at all about the tevinter guys. Then again this guy studies dragons for a living. ![]()
It did make me wonder if we might see some scholars in tevinter who want to reclaim old ruins not for any evil plan but to help the glory of tevinter, ie just normal politics. Sort of like the Nazis in Indian Jones basically.

Lol i hope to run into that scholar, he sounds interesting. I would love to get to meet other Tevinter related scholar/academics who are searching for ruins or other ancient artifacts for the glory of the imperium. It would be cool if there was someone from the imperium who could give more of a background about the Tevinter mosaics and Astrariums.

Alas I gave up. Got into the Alexius fight with no potion(and had no more supplies to replinish) and with literally a sliver of health. Plus closing rifts with Terror demons is no pun intended a nightmare. Maybe once I'm more acustome to Inquisition I'll retry my nightmare playthrough.

I've heard very experienced players discussing it's un-do-ability, but I know a lot of them are also going to go back and torture themselves later on.
Meanwhile, some of us are very content to leave the crazy to you guys as we hang out comfortably on normal.

I am playing on Hard and finding it awesome. It can be a bit tricky at times, but so far the challenge is enjoyable and fun.
Mentioned this in the Dorian thread, but I had a random thought. As the rumors seem to indicate that we are going to Tevinter in DA4. I wonder if it might be a good idea to see him back in Tevinter ![]()
I'm loving playing on Hard difficulty, just the right amount of challenge for me. Terror demons are indeed nightmares, no matter how fast I fade step away from them they always find me lol.

I'm sure HARD difficulty is pleasingly challenging for ultra competent players.
Nightmare seems like it's only for the...well, the "suicidal and truly mad'.

I haven't, and i've been looking, kinda worried that we won't be able to wear Venatori gear.

The slave armor is wearable I would really doubt that Bioware would not include the Battlemage armor.

Don't trust rumors.
every rumour has a bit of truth my milady. Even the crazy onesDon't trust rumors.
I haven't found any Venatori gear yet either and I'm looking all over the place. I finally reached skyhold and have many of the tevinter decorations up but I still need a few more things. I found a shop in Orlais that sells some of the decorations.
