* begins tripping balls due to power* POWAHHH UNLIMITED POWAHHHH * casts lightning*

we are not saying master race just the origin status of effectiveness we in this thread believe has been lacking for "balance" we arent the majority(hell the bsn arent the majority).
The series does enough damage to magi (lot are ****ing morons) why not give us the full experiance. I wouldnt

Because if you make one class purposefully overpowered compared to the others, then the other classes won't be played at all. No one is interrested in gimping themselves, unless they are going for some sort of challenge playthrough, which only a small minority of gamers ever do.

So the choice is: Either you balance the mage class to match the others, or you make mage class unavailable in all future installments.

Honestly I think Mages are already more powerful than the other classes as it is, Slightly less in DAI I'll admit.

In DA:O maybe, since that game was one heaving broken mess regarding balance (DA:A did not improve upon it), But both DA2 and DA:I are reasonably balanced if you ask me.

im just advocating a better balance system. Arcane warrior was op as hell ,KE op as well if built right. Make the magi op cool but each class need to be insane as well. All im saying fun comes in many forms

I have returned from my journey in southern lands. So very uncivilized. I had initially thought the Venatori had the right idea, but they showed no reverance for proper tradition nor for the Gods. The viewed this Corypheus as their god. Absurd. My sources tell me tha he was banished to the Fade by the so called Inquisitor, comical. I have even heard , that after the insult of trying to usurp the throne of Dumat that he even mocked the gods openly. Yet as he was about to be defeated he begged Dumat, our lord for salvation. Silence is appropriately the only response the golden one saw fit to bestow upon the blighted former Magister.

It would seem that this Inquisition has developed beyond a mere ragtag group of heathens and into a formidable fighting force. Corypheus has been successful in one aspect, he has greatly weakened the south. Perhaps the time to strike will be soon at hand.

There are no "Temples" to the Old Gods in Tevinter anymore.... They are all Chantries...

This is the story forum. Stick to the story, and rp to your heart's content. Don't indirectly spread misinformation.

could a magister in tevinter survive if he was openly supportive of returning to the old gods?

Nope. He would be killed before he could say "praise Dumat". Tevinter REALLY do not like the Old Gods, ever since the First Blight crippled the Imperium and sent it spiraling down. They are still big on dragons in general though.

If he openly did it yeah but I'm willing to bet there are a few secretive cults of the old gods out there.

Of course there are. Dragon Cults for instance are still a big thing in Tevinter. However, there are no temples dedicated to either dragons nor Old Gods anymore.

I'm imagining massive, secret, underground Temples beneath Minrathous...

Right under a Chantry. With Secret passageways. Dark, twisting, and full of traps for trespassers unfamiliar with the way.

I don't doubt that people would practice the worship of the old gods, just not publically.

Your description sounds like the beginings of an interesting dungeon to explore as well :)
