Nah, common RP rule of thumb: Try not to RP as the rulers of nations in established settings. Ergo: Try not to play as the King/President/Archon/Whichever of countries, since they have the ability to influence the entire world, which established settings (ie not player owned) are incapable of adapting.
Hence, do not play as a Magister, but play as his protege. Don't play as the King, but as his advisor. Generally play a character CLOSE to power, but not IN power. Or don't play a character near power at all, though in this case, that would be rather boring.
part of the reason why I liked having Aurelia be a knight-comander guard of the Magisterium close to power yet not holding any true power.

It's mostly just a style thing. A darker character (not as lawful/pro-circle as Vivienne), and then with a literally dark colored version of Vivienne's skill set. Alter the colors on the Knight-Enchanter skill tree, apply them to a Male Mage, and then you have the potential makings of my ideal DA love interest.
