I sat here thinking I was going to learn some lore stuff about magic that I can use when I'm dumping on vints and you guys just stop? :(

Only thing you can learn about magic is you can't dump on it even Templars and Seekers resort to magic in order to fight magic. You have 3 options:

1) Very large army that will overpower just because of it's size.

2) Rely on your Saarebas, which you would need a hefty amount of as well, since you don't train them properly.

3) Better make some very powerful weapons using your advance technology.

Is that why you hate the Qunari so much? Because none of your "strengths" matter against them....they will just tear your arms off and be done with you?

Try me.

Last I checked lyrium pulsed upon my heed.

But it's not, you are like a mundie, and I am a mage. I move around like Usain bolt on steroids ( haste ), and can fly around even faster with fade step. And then there's like rocks flying in your face and sh*t, and you are burning and melting, and you are shocked, and frozen, and you are being crushed and hurled around with telekinesis, and your blood is boiling.. and then like, even if the maker himself came and resurrected you a couple of dozen times after all of that and then took you with his mighty hand and teleported you right next to me, you reach out, and find that your hand goes right through me, because I went into a fade cloak, then I just pass through you and you blow up from the inside. Yeah..  ;)

By the way, all of this ^ might be one of my favorite debates about who's the toughest on here so far.

This discussion with this Orlais guy and the Qunari will not lead to anything. Every magician should be free, because a Qunari has the right to be free? because he is not a magician ? and why a wizard can not be ? because he invokes demons ? Anyone can be a murderer, rapist or any other potential thing , this is not exclusive of the magis.Invoke demons or be owned by the same is chump change as cruelty whom a soldier can do to a civilian in a war, we agree.

Lol, magician, gets me every time.

Also our discussion is not about that. Tevinter doesn't fight for the freedom of all mages, it empowers the worthy. I totally invoke demons, and murder, and slavery, as do many of my brethren. ;)

Well, at least we should not generalize.

It is simple to understand , we can not condemn all mages by an act of an isolated.

ah thats a fine point but a slippery point indeed. True most mortals should have freedom and magi should be judged as a whole for a few bad apples but who deciedes punishment, who deciedes mercy and reward. The mundanes? Magi?

A powerful mage can beat the power of the relatively small amount of lyrium in a templars body that the templar uses or the power of the boon that was bestowed upon the seeker by the spirit, that the seeker uses. A powerful mages natural mana supply is stronger than that.

Actually according to Cole, Several Templars and a first enchanter that isn't how it works because they aren't invoking normal magic, it is magic but it's done by not invoking the fade or their connection to it.

It's not their personal strength as it with mages but ritual or lyrium.

And considering even extremely powerful mages have their magic just be cut off (first enchanters, magisters, qunari, and more)

It obviously isn't a direct involvement or you'd be admitting Titus was bested by Alistair in a battle of will.

Seriously.

Mages are all the same, remove their curse and they are as frail as a newborn.

Well, not all of them.

Mage smarter, not harder.

*sweat drop falls to his eye and momentarily blinds his left eye. He resist the urge to wipe it. The raging power requires his whole concentration and distraction now could prove to be deadly. He needs all his attention to balance the power flow, the boy is young but strong, there is no room for mistakes. On the street, few meters away, the you mage drops the direct fire flame blast he tried to use and switches to fade step to break his shielding. "Idiot" he thinks, "powerful but idiot". As soon as the boy becomes translucent Ukki invokes repulsion field with mana cleanse. The pulse meets the fast traveling young man halfway and sends him stumbling across the street towards the cheering crowd.

Without a pause he tries to capture the boy in death hex with paralyze. Boy is momentarily distracted but can deflect most of the effect with dispel magic. Ukki switches his tactics and goes through series of elemental attacks bombarding the boy with fire, stone, ice and lightning. Several layers of protective shields appear on the boy, he can see at least fade, arcane and spell shields turn on at the same time. "Powerful indeed, boy has a lot of strength to spend" he thinks with a bit of admiration, "but not powerful enough".
He gestures fast and the land beneath the boy starts to shake violently causing him to fall to the ground. He casts haste on himself and moves few steps away for the next move. His accelerated status grants him a faster casting which gives him time to shower the young man with several hexes to drain him from his power. The boy seems to struggle to control his power and has obvious problems on getting back on his feet.

He decides it is time to stop this spectacle and finish the boy. Suddenly a really powerful dispel magic spell falls on him followed by a disorienting spell. With a gently blow all his coherent thoughts fly away like a flock of sparrows. For a few dangerous moments he doesn´t know who and where he is. Then it strikes, a arc of lighting penetrates his weakened shield layers burning its way through his robe setting it on fire and burrowing into his skin. His body starts to twich and convulse. After a few fumbling steps he falls paralyzed on his back hitting his head on the decorated marble road with a sickening thud.

Somewhere in the background, through the cheering of the crowd, he hears Nazlik scream. Stars flicker in his eyes as the pulsating pain both in his body and back of the head requires all of his attention. Dazed he turns on his stomach. He feels nauseous and fights the urge to vomit. Blood drips between his lips as his tries to stumble on his feet but is only able to get on all fours. "Get up! Get up! The boy is still there!" his mind screams but his body doesn´t respond.

It started as a beautiful day, in the morning he surprised Nazlik by taking her to carriage ride in the Imperial park, where they had a long breakfast by the lake. She fed some bread crumbs to the swans nesting there. Those little baby swans made her happy and her dazzling smile brightened the day. She was glowing. He gave her a jewel ring, he had their names carved into the inner arc. Her kiss was long and warm.
Unfortunately he had to visit the Senate and there was some problems with Monkeys business deals with Nevarrans. Though that was all settled for now.
Afterwards he took her to a see a orlesian silk merchant. The merchant had some new fabrics he wanted to show him and they took measures for a new dress for Nazlik. When they were leaving a handsome young dashing looking mage blocked him in the street and challenged him to a duel.
First he was not sure if the boy was joking but a stone fist cast at him changed his mind.

His confused eyes wonder through the crowd. The onlookers really got their money worth. A Magister is about to fall to a young rising mage, what a spectacle!
His wondering eyes see a familiar face in the crown he did not expect. Then he sees her, the one he was looking for. Nazlik stands there, terrified look on her face. Hands on her abdomen. Those hands... cold feeling creeps into his stomach.
And then power lifts him up in the air and slams to the ground. He falls through the ground and travels a few meters distance underground appearing right next to Nazlik for the shock and surprise of the growd. Good thing he took the time to learn that dalish spell, stone´s throw.
The young mage looks stunned at the place he where was supposed to be laying broken. Ukki charges fast and strong disregarding the pain in his battered body. A powerful dispel spell followed with the hemorrhage. The boy screams and smoke rises from his ears, mouth and eye sockets as his blood boils. Ukki increases the power and watches as the boy falls to the ground scratching his skin and eyes. After for a while his twiching stops.

He takes a few tottery steps and Nazlik runs to support him. "Take me home" he says, "I think we are done here". The crowd cheers and claps as they climb aboard the carriage.

No, but we've just been through this, the lyrium or the spirit that does it for them does not compare to a powerful mage.

And considering even extremely powerful mages have their magic just be cut off (first enchanters, magisters, qunari, and more)

Who are these extremely powerful mages? And it's a joke that you put the enchanters and qunari into the list. They don't even have proper training, they can't be extremely powerful.

It obviously isn't a direct involvement or you'd be admitting Titus was bested by Alistair in a battle of will.

Uh sure, that is probably the truth. After Alistair is this special snowflake that has magical blood in his veins, allowing him to use some of templar magic without the lyrium, his borderline mage.

I forgive you for leaving that out monkey.  Wouldn't expect much from someone who has never played Last of Us, Infamous, or God of War. (Yes I left out Uncharted on purpose, but Naughty Dog is still the best dev in the industry) ;)

Videos will generally will do, but not for games like Last of Us.  You need to wait until you get a chance to play it.  I was in awe.  You need to be the one doing the things...learning, adapting, and making the choices. I don't know if there will ever be a SP game better than that game.  I mean YES GIVE ME THE SEQUEL, but idk.....thats gonna be hard to beat.

Infamous was powerful because of how much I liked a certain character and the build up through the games. I've never cried or got upset at a movie or a game or anything , but that ending though.....was well done and well written, it was powerful...having been there for the entire ride and the ups and downs and then for that to happen (depending on which ending you go with)  I think the newest Infamous is probably garbage.  When SONY buys a dev they become complete garbage usually and they bought Sucker Punch after I2
