Seeing something more of Fog warriors would be really cool.

Are you writing this concept into a fic?

They sound like your class to me.  crazy technology and instruments.

watch some of em be rocking crossbows come the next game....with their grenades and stuff.  Lets see how fast you leave these slavers!  Of course seeing that knowing how hard I tried to get you to join the Qun and got nothing.....:(

Not necessarily. We have never seen a mage able to affect Lyrium in such a manner.

I could very well be possible, but either way it seems no one has formulated (or re-discovered) such a spell.

No, necessarily. Because everything that can be done with fade energies is universal. I've talked about barrier long before DA:I ever came out, and people told me: ''No, mages can't just block attacks and arrows with magic, no one has ever done that.'' Well guess what, now it's in the game, and I talked about it before because it just makes freaking sense seeing how spells such as telekinesis existed. It's not about seeing it's about things making sense.

Also on the:

We do not know yet, at least not exactly.

Why not stick to things that make sense then, rather than say that it's different and then stop due to the lack of information and no evidence to back it up? Does it really matter what everybody in the game says? They all have their different opinions and specially when it's said through weird a&s riddles like the ones in which Solas and Cole speak.

You want to sew his lips and put him in a collar sadface?

SHE is not a mage remember? none of that needed.

but to answer your question, yes I would do that to you.  Better that for you than living a lie and a slave to the fade.  Empower the Qun and be productive.

I get that, but again, even if seems theoretically and reasonably possible by all means, no one that we or the rest of Thedas knows has ever accomplished such a spell. So, maybe mages can do it as well, but it seems none of them at the present, for whatever reason, can.

The assertion that the powers work differently is not a claim that lacks evidence. What we lack information on is why they work differently.

Or there's like a whole bunch of different mages that can do that and we just haven't met them. Obviously they won't teach this at the circle. Maybe Tevinter mages can all happily do it in order to control their templars. Would make sense?

I don't know, I personally see no practical difference between what templars do and mage anti-magic and mana alteration trees. Also these red templars did many other things which were MAGIC, and not just anti-magic anymore, it would make sense since, they weren't about jailing mages anymore.

"You want to deprive them of their ability to talk. You want to turn mages into slaves. The Sarabbas are nothing more then enslaved mages.  The Maker who made this world, created magic. He made it as a gift to the world. The words of the prophet, Andraste sing this out. Magic is the Maker's greatest gift, this is why he bestowed it upon the prophet Andraste, and how his holy guidance can be seen when even those who are born a slave are blessed with the ability to do magic.

Yet you would see those who have been blessed, enslaved. Of course one should not expect anything else but blasphemy from the Qun and its faithless servents. You  deny the existence of the Maker, yet You have the gall to slaughter and crush all those who worship him. You seek nothingless then to make everyone a blaspheming, heathen bound in chains and deprived of any ability to think.

Yet for all your efforts, you WILL fail. The imperium has opposed the Qun before and won, and we shall do so again. You have attacked us, but the might of the Imperium has repeled you. A single individual was able to stop your invasion of the free marches, the Imperium is far greater then one man or woman and you will fall. Serhone and Par Vollen will be annexed, and the people will know the Chant of Light and the watchful Eye of the Maker. "

Of all the images you've painted...that one is the most tempting.

Oh, my dear Arishok, I do know you mean well. I have a hard time imagining however, that even if you theoretically did manage to lead me off to Par Vollen, you would have much say in my fate. The Arishok leads the army, certainly. As I understand it, though, they do not decide to what degree re-education (or qamek) is necessary. I believe that decision falls to the...priesthood?

Even if I were to completely trust your intentions, I do not trust the Ben-hassrath's.

Or the Tamassran's. ::shudder::

Tevinter Templars aren't actually trained to disrupt magic. They're essentially just regular mooks.

Also, there's a War Table mission where you can send Templars into Tevinter covertly to assist a friendly Magister. The after-action report states that the mages were very surprised upon encountering "actual" Templars and got stomped.

I don't know, I personally see no practical difference between what templars do and mage anti-magic and mana alteration trees.

Well, even in the novels they function much differently. To be honest, when a mage (Felassan) used magical disruption it actually seemed more effective and potentially lethal for the victim.

I'd read it in a heartbeat. I loved the description Fenris provided.

I guess I'm just hesitant because we know so little about Seheron and its people, even after DA:I.

The darkspawn will build all the boats they need. It will be a fullscale blight directed at Par vollen. We will start at Seheron, make some brood mothers.

If the maker was real it would have seen the Qun and came down and submitted itself.  Is has not, thus it doesn't exist.  A "maker" would not deny the Qun.

Qun is not religion.  It is Order.  You cannot blaspheme that which does not exist.

When has the Imperium defeated the Qun?  If telling yourself we will fail makes you sleep better then have at it.  You should submit now while you have the chance though.

Why would you need qamek?  That is for the hopeless.  Why resist? You're better than that!

Plus when the next Dragon Age comes out the Qun will be a democracy with Womens Rights.

Fair enough, I guess Tevinter also has a a big share of it's weaker mages.

Would be very useful to instruct mages in burning out templars lyrium though, so they don't have to waste energy on casting a lot more powerful spells that templars cannot handle.
