Fair enough, I guess Tevinter also has a a big share of it's weaker mages.

Would be very useful to instruct mages in burning out templars lyrium though, so they don't have to waste energy on casting a lot more powerful spells that templars cannot handle.

Oh, it is definitely on Enchanter Nerva's list.

Plus when the next Dragon Age comes out the Qun will be a democracy with Womens Rights.

Preach.. Still mindblown about what Bull said about Krem according to the Qun.

I personally think that lyrium works the way it does because it enables the closure of a mages connection to the fade and forces the reality of the world upon them.

It disrupts the magic like antibotics to a virus.

Why would you need qamek?  That is for the hopeless.  Why resist? You're better than that!

Plus when the next Dragon Age comes out the Qun will be a democracy with Womens Rights.

I'm a materialistic, arcane-loving, Mage-exalting, Tevinter loyalist!

One look at me and anyone under the province of the Ariqun (curse you for motivating me to look up all of these heretic words!  :P ) is going to decide that at the very least I need intensive re-education.

The last made me giggle. You're probably right...Dammit.

Theres a few other things too.  When I start playing again I'll remember.  My brain is trying to block them out.  Foul and hurtful words :(

Srsly I would like have zero doubts about this and would accept the whole thing without any problems if it was just something different, like another mineral that is not lyrium. Because Lyrium is used to send people into the fade, and to cast / empower spells. \

Also when you block people from the fade they become tranquil. Which means that if a templar disrupts a mage connection to the fade they should become briefly tranquil, and the tempars then would be able to make mundanes tranquil with their powers since they still can dream, and templars themselves would be tranquil if they have no connection to the fade.

I guess I'm just hesitant because we know so little about Seheron and its people, even after DA:I.

This is true, but the do the odds of your Shaman character concept inevitably being true to lore seem high to you anyway? I suppose it might, but it seems impossible to be sure. You've got years, I imagine. Might as well have fun with your own ideas for now if you feel like it.

Still, I do know what you mean. I'd be troubled about throwing in too much of my own head-canon into my own Dragon Age fic.

In any event, I really hope we get some Fog Warrior focus next game.

You figure more people would be up in arms against Dorian and his insights into Tevinter.

Still surprised you don't want to take a leap and get in touch with the arcane, seeing as you adore it so much. You also currently come across as a person in for a darwin award. Not that I mind.  ;)

NO!  You heard her.  She was looking up all those heretic words and definitions.  i'll use my retcon armor to modify her role as my personal property and if any other Qunari touches i'll kill them and we will be fine.

Don't put your filth in her head.

Well I for one don't like Dorian, he wants to fix Tevinter in all the wrong ways. What he wants to fix is not broken.

As I said earlier it must have to do with how it interacts with the Templar that enables it to do so.

If the maker was real it would have seen the Qun and came down and submitted itself.  Is has not, thus it doesn't exist.  A "maker" would not deny the Qun.

Qun is not religion.  It is Order.  You cannot blaspheme that which does not exist.

When has the Imperium defeated the Qun?  If telling yourself we will fail makes you sleep better then have at it.  You should submit now while you have the chance though.

"You continue to Blaspheme. The maker is real, the very existence of magic is proof enough of the existence of the Maker. If you were blessed by magic, you can see the Black City in the Fade. The very existence of this, which has been proven by nearly every mage.  Every Natural wonder in this world was made by the Maker's hand, that is why he is the Maker. But I shouldn't bother wasting my breath, you will never sit at his side for you blaspheme with your every breath.

As for the defeats of the Qun. Your expansion during the Steel and Storm Ages were halted and you were driven from the land. Only that pathetic city of yours in Rivain is what remains. You tried to conquer the Imperium, but through, Magic, steel, and the gaze of the Maker we drove you from the land. Following the end of the third exalted mach, you would try again in the Blessed age to conquer the continent by landing in the Imperium. Yet again we defeated you and we shall do so again! "

The templar is just a mundane.. They are nothing before the lyrium, it interacts with nothing. Did you see how lyrium interacted with Fenris? Gave him a bunch of magic powers, which again resemble mage spells.

By making it a less morally bankrupt land that isn't dictated by a bunch of squabbling magistrates that choked the life out of their land centuries ago?

You're joking?

Cole is clear the Templars connected with SOMETHING.

not magic but...something.

They are normal people and yet...not.

Basically. They just need to get their sh*t together and fight harder for their riches. You really don't get to just sit there on a comfy chair and drink whine while getting everything you want, sometimes you have to get up and show everyone your fangs and roar.

Maybe "normal" is exactly what they're connecting with. He said they connect with something much older than they are (and that the Lyrium "helps"), perhaps it is their native plane.

K..

''They feel older than they look. They've been changed, and their bodies are incomplete now. The lyrium helps, but their bodies always want to connect to something older, bigger than they are.''

The templars have been changed because they have been brought closer to the fade, closer than mundanes are. Now they feel like they want to feel the fade like the mages do, but they cannot, since it is not their natural state. The lyrium helps them feel closer to the fade. And the fade is old and big.

''That's why they block magic. They reach for that other thing and magic has no room to come in.''

They are more mundane than a mage, and the magic cannot be a part of them.

Brainstorm away on your own interpretation.

Maybe lyrium is itself a natural state of "magic" not through the fade but of the world, magic not of spirits and spells but nature.

...I will need to think on this more.

I like the train of thought.

So you allied with the Vints in these times? Your "maker" has no problems with this? Slavery and blood magic? Oh what a maker it must be.  The second coming is on the way.  The entire world allied will not be able to stop the Qunari.  Not even with the help of shifty gods.
