What power? I mean, nothing you listed before even came close to a natural, non-magical or non-Fade touched substance.

And now you're suddenly going full Subaru-Outback-tier granola.

...I don't understand the last bit, maybe if i were from here...Anyway.

What i meant was; why employ a spirit  when the world provides better sources of strength.

Beyond that, splitting hairs on how the taint is magical when its entirely alien to magic and its constructs according to a spirit, a mage who spent decades researching it would require more effort then i care to enlist, but anywho i just wanted to point out, i did have a non magical one on the list.

Or at least non magical as in not of the fade.

Oh i do.

Or maybe i played too much Resident Evil back in the day...

o.o Or maybe i know enough dirty laundry about real life super soldier programs throughout history to see the potential.

We have all strode for that greatness, fiction isn't alone with striving for the ideal, for perfection.

Or Perhaps i am merely bored and am pondering for the sake of pondering.

resident evil is defininatly my favorite series... even operation racoon city XD

What sources of strength? Especially to the extent to create super soldiers? Are they better, or better in theorycraft?

Oh, the Taint is nowhere near non-magical. It might be completely isolated from Thedosian conventional magic, but it is objectively magical in nature.

I mean even it being alien to the Fade is not truly certain. That is, after all, the place where the auld Magisters apparently unleashed it.

Perhaps the Taint is something that need not be explained or magical, perhaps it is simply corruption.

o.o Nuclear detonations are so pretty...

And can you believe the Government civil trial that took Umbrella to court lasted from 1998 to 2003...

A complete suspension of business in the United States, all of their DOD and subsidy contracts ended, and they still held together for five years.

That's about like it would be if Wal-Mart or Big Pharma went to court i suppose, when you have companies that have more money then God they can just last forever even without profit.

I remember being like 10 years old or something when this game came out and going into the game store and the video of that giant snake came on!  I was in awe.  I wanted this game SO bad!  I had those "strict" parents.  My dad gave me that line like "No, you can't have that game...it has too much graphic violence" LOL @ how far we've come.  And then not long after that I get GTA haha.

Off the record, I find the Red Templars and Red Lyrium endearing in how they resemble a Thedosian Umbrella. Behemoths are like their first-gen Tyrants... the corrupted giants would be like one of the B.O.W.s created from mutated animals.

Sadly for Umbrella the Red Templars actually seem, uh, much more successful in their endeavors.

Yeah, but when Umbrella actually got something right it was pretty much in spite of themselves. While the Red Templars' experiments tended to be successful and pretty effective almost all the time.

I mean, Umbrella had it so bad that success went as follows:

- Does the B.O.W. follow its directive at least 45% of the time?

- Has it managed to not grow its critical organs on the outside and/or random eyeballs?

- Can it be transported without destroying its container and killing everything in a 2 mile radius?

- If no to the above, can the killing of everything in a 2 mile radius be somehow postponed until after it has been transported?

Mass-production and sale requires at least 2 out of 4.

I wonder sometimes just what would produce the ideal soldier.

Uber Soldaten.

Red Lyrium, The Blight, Demonic possession, lyrium infusion, or perhaps...something else.

Something older.

Oh come on, you know the answer.. Obviously the ideal soldiers are strong mages. After that, any of the above can give them an even greater edge.

Yeah the same guys that do lines off prostitutes asses every night and are married with 2 kids lol.  It's all a big joke.  I don't follow politics very much, but I think that guy...John Edwards? think thats his name....out with hookers when his wife was on her death bed and died? wtf....  Not that I believe anything/everything i see cuz I don't,but that just a trip and I don't think he even denied it.  The list is long and those are a lot of the people running the country...obviously there are some good ones too, but you know.

anyways....as far as "strict" family members and parents go....yeah. I've learned a lot of things to NOT do if I decide to have kids.
