I don't say it's properties are magic... it's properties are magic, as it has been comprehensively demonstrated time and time agian.

Unless you have a scientific explanation for this phenomena, there is really nothing to suggest otherwise beyond a burning desire to project your own fanon.

It being able to used for certain applications does not infer it's nature is those applications.

Maybe I'm giving much prestige to Bioware. The thing is I will explain in a way '' rough '' I do not know if will understand,I lived years in Russia and Brazil, my English is not good. I believe that the taint is the manifestation of human corruption, greed , these things , it's magic ? can be, but does it matter? what the taint is perhaps need not be explained , it is simply a '' manifestation '' of human corruption and how it can be bad.

It need not be magical, it may simply be a metaphor , of course we have indications that it's magic , Avernus talks about the power that the Taint can give, but if the taint is the need of power? perhaps this would also explain the fact appear to be magic. I really do not know, the taint be magic does not seem right , I see it as something else.

No, you did not understand me , that's just it , I do not want a black and white morality, but rather gray, but this has nothing to do with my view of taint , reduce it to something simply ' ' magic ' ' to me , takes all the idea of what it represents.

It goes beyond application (even though every application that we know of is magical in some way). It's basic properties are magical, with its applications being a result of this.

I don't think it could be that. The Taint and its properties are a diegetic element within Dragon Age, to such an extent that the story wouldn't really make sense if it were entirely a metaphor. I think it's existence and qualities can be considered a kind of metaphor... but that would still mean it is magical in the way if functions.

If taint is metaphorical then it makes it black and white as opposed to grey, so you contradict yourself.

Perhaps even magic or worse , maybe a crazy explanation, as they like to do. I like concepts that need not be explained. At first I had this vision of Taint in the first game , but after the Inquisition ...

Taint is not evil, and it's not a metaphor. Corruption is a subjective concept that has no place in the physical realm. Sorry but these things really grind my gears.

Taint is not evil, and it's not a metaphor. Corruption is a subjective concept that has no place in the physical realm. Sorry but these things really grind my gears.

I had to learn Russian and Portuguese , and seven years of English course , I can speak, write normally, but can not explain some things. And Thank you Lady hahaha I never thought anyone would find this interesting crazy theory.

I meant that with how the Taint has been described within the world, along with other things like Blights, the Darkspawn etc. it has been developed beyond being a metaphor or a symbol.
