I don't think he'd have any fortitude if he did follow the Qun... Since he'd be drooling and pooping his pants.

Still better than being a vint and its still part of the Qun.

Also I don't see him as hopeless...with the proper "accessories" he may be valuable.

No, not really in any universe. Being able to take a **** and feed oneself alone is better than anything the Qun could offer a bas mage.

It's not your decision to make. Mages who were originally outside the Qun are given the Qamek treatment by default.

I don't know this to be true.  CAPTURED mages...yes.  I'm not trying to capture him.  I'm saying submit and show your loyalty.

If you know something beyond that feel free to share.

Saarebas who go unleashed can not go back to what they were before, regardless of whether or not they are loyal to the Qun. A bas mage who has lived unleashed their entire lives is hopeless, let alone a Tevinter magister.

Is this your interpretation or something I missed?

I know the saarebas in DA2 had earned a ceremonial death, but as far as ALL mages captured or not being "hopeless" Where are you getting that.  If they already have saarebas and the Qun accepts all that seek it then thats contradictory.

qunari "accept" saarebas born to the qun but outsiders are given to what bacs describe. Not so much a retcon but a addition to lore

Exact. Saarebas are not guilty of his curse , but that Saarebas concerned wanted to live by Qun , so he accepted their condition. I believe the Qunaris do not like magi who do not accept their condition ( the outsiders. )

Solas apparently witnessed memories of Andraste's march on Tevinter.

Now that was a neat little revelation.

news how? We've known tevinter was beaten at x point. And its frightening how you listen to a mage npc when your generally "enslavement" or "paladin anderson (been on a hellsing kick again simple teasing)

In DA2, the Saarebas was executed because he had lost his "lead", despite returning to the Qun and remaining loyal because there was no way of knowing whether or not it had been taken by a demon, or spread demons through its words (as per Qunari logic regarding magic). If Hawke tells the Arvaarad that they are a mage, or bring attention to a party member who is a mage, it is an instant death sentence.

In WoT, it is stated that captured mages are given Qamek by default because they are considered hopeless. Rest assured, a Tevinter magister, willing or not, is not being made Saarebas.

I also found the mention of singing to be interesting, again Andraste's ability to compell through it brought up.

If it made spirits weep...well maybe it did catch the eye of the Maker.

Hmmm not to be an ass, but I don't see anything "concrete" that changes my view.  If they attack Hawke for saying he  is a mage....that still wouldn't be the same as him trying to submit to the Qun.

For the second part of your post you said the key word again "captured"

Guess really it could be changed tomorrow anyways, but still im just coming from a different angle.

How would trying to submit change anything? The Saarebas who just did submit (and never even left the Qun) gets cacked. As soon as Hawke mentions that they are a mage, Arvaarad attacks them. If one wants to try and submit to the Qun and become Saarebas, communicating that one is a mage is kind of important... but if you do that, you get executed. Hmmmmmmm. I wonder what this could imply.

DA4 Qunari will allow ''captured'' mages to decide what role they want to take on in the Qun.

your not gonna sing are you, already went to church 10yrs ago haha

But really; if hymm magic exists is it hedge magic or a elven school lost. It is interesting maker or not

that submitting as a mage not born to the qun = death or super tranquility. But a saarabas that lost its leash is to commit hara-kiri or to be executed

Accurate, the Qunaris accept a magi of their own race , but otherwise not.
