Maybe...In the case of the hurlock vanguard, it's a persistent and chaotically overlapping discordance of whispers, which I might compare to the sound of being near the shards in DAI. Then it turns the "camera" over to your goal, and tells you what to do (usually killing a prominent NPC) in subtitles. It seemed to me to make it clear that following the commands is a compulsion the vanguard absolutely cannot ignore, and I think there was a thought that the archdemon communicated about being "together" or maybe just "come to me". Your mileage may vary, of course, but it seemed to imply a certain longing and something like a intimate reverence when it came to the effect of the arch demon's "song" on the darkspawn. 

 

There's a couple different ways a person could be horrified by that campaign. If you care about any of the NPC's or any of the companions, then there's a bitter unpleasantness to slaughtering them, of course.

 

The thing that really got to me though, was the insight into how the call of an archdemon works in a darkspawn's mind. There is nothing more important than the will of the archdemon. I found it visceral, and I doubt we could have something quite that intense with Corypheus. 

 

 

Interesting, maybe I should try that then.

If Tevinter was the least bit competent they could, no...they can't even get some mages from Redcliffe.  Oh look at me I'm a Magister and I'm so powerful Tevinter for life....well what short bit was left of it

"tevinter" didn't try to get mages from redcliff a renegade faction of political outcasts trying to gather some microdrum of relevance, In Tevinter went invaded the south and damn near conquered it.

 

I still can't believe the south came begging to us to "outlaw" them, as if Magisterium as any inclination of appeasing the Southern heretics because they were having a rough time, with a few reprobates.

 

In the end the venatori were put down like the dog's they were. apparently it was a big deal in the south they had a celebration, toasts talked about their great victory. They even had cake.

 

Back in Tevinter its remembered as a Tuesday.

Dorian made sense when he said slaves are not any worse than people stuck in slums such as alienages without any hope leaving there, poverty an desperation is pretty much permanent.
 
While some slaves are treated poorly, excellence is rewarded in Tevinter regardless of Origin so slave can free himself and can even provide for a family while being a slave. There are many ex-slave heroes in Tevinter who rose up above their station. Of course I'm against both slavery and having slums, my point is we shouldn't be too hard about it because the south is in no better position to judge Tevinter. Not ot mention Orlesian nobility is known to have slaves anyhow.

Well Fiona was a slave, its a hidden and taboo thing but it happens behind closed doors like many things at Orlais. Stinking poncy cheesemongers!

Anyone fans of the imperium have reservations on slaves? I like the idea and wish Bioware takes us to Minrathos an have us impact the slavery there.

 

The only impact I want to have on slavery in Tevinter is owning slaves.

Servants are there as well.

In Tevinter for example, it is said that some slaves can sustain entire families and have a decent job. If the game is passed in Tevinter probably will have a slave origin. I hope Bioware in the counterpoints to hate or accept slavery in Tevinter. But I hope also cover Anderfels. I'm very attached to the Grey Wardens and want to see what goes on there.

Yeah anyone can become a slave except Dwarves. Teviner and Dwarves have signed the oldest existing alliance in Thedas.

No doubt, unless they have another explanation for elves in Tevinter, mages or other, in other case they will be slaves. But I do not have much interest in Tevinter, the subject of the extension there for me has ended, only that part of the slaves was not as well explored.

It's already all of the above and more. Even weaker mages can be slaves in Tevinter, like Alexius wanted to make the southern ones.

Finally the day had come, Monkey guests had arrived. Nobles of Orlais and Magisters. Negotiations would happen. Monkey Estate was huge and there were many people there. The Red Lady spied everyone, while Monkey tried to keep entertained all the guests. Noble of Orlais arrived with Templars and some soldiers, it bothered some Magisters who were just there with their slaves. Monkey had been informed by the Red Lady: there was some killer among these slaves and servants elves. Monkey asked Red to take a look, he knew all servants there. Red goes out of the Estate, the Monkey Garden, where much of the servants was. The night fall and the dark did not facilitate the search. 

While Red walked he was surprised by a dagger in the throat.

- Got you, damn magician - a sweet female voice, spitting words in a Orlesians accent. It was an elf, blond and long hair, large blue eyes. - And now, how you expected get out of this?

Red was caught by surprise and once in sight, apparently nothing could save him. But, instead of lifting the arms to deliver, he smiled.

- Good that, huh? - Retorted - that ugly accent...

- From Orlais. - The elf put down the dagger, and the two embraced vigorously. - You should be more careful, if I were an enemy?

- In this case, I would have noticed. - Red recognized his old partner, Tallis, one viddathari serving the Ben-Hassrath.

- What a coincidence.

- How so? I don't know what goes on in the minds of those fools. 

 "Fools" was like Red and Tallis closely referred to their heads.

- Did you kill anyone?

- Five nobles.

- Should I? - Tallis extended a smile. - We can not go without finishing the job,did you forgot? Our instructions are to kill the Magister who welcomed you. There are more of us infiltrated among the servants, Help me. She was rigid in following orders, that's why she adapted so well to Qun. - Need to take me as a prisoner. I can kill him.

Red experienced the hard task of hiding the magic of the Qun and maintain Tallis there was a problem. She could find out about his gift. 

Red Collected arguments to convince her to leave, but when his was opening the mouth, a small sound was made. Shot in the heart by an arrow, the blond viddathari strands fell. She tried to grab his friend, but the physical life had left her.

For a moment, Red froze. Two soldiers who had come with the nobles entered the station doing thumbs-up, certain that had saved him.

- You're welcome - gave him a pat on the shoulder. - Can I have the daggers, magister?

- Of course - he replied, apathetic.

- Where's the smile? - A second boy stimulated. - I heard that Here is full of murderers, we caught one! Negotiations will continue.

- Jewel - Red shook the neck. - Very good - regained consciousness.

- To hell with these elves! - Said a masked one.

- That's how you talk - said the other. - The key is to think big, we will win that promotion .

- Exact...Thinking big - Red repeated for himself, staring at the lifeless body of Tallis.  He said a few words to Tallis  and remembered: It’s just a game.
