Now please, go jerk eachother off some place else than public.
Lol...oooo did we hit a nerve?. Calm yourself, no one is attacking you personally.

It appears that someone purged some heresy.
New information points out that the Tevinter Imperium, does not approve of same sex relationships and considers it to be "selfish" as well as deviant behavior, however they do encourage it in their favorite slaves. O_o

That's not exactly correct. What they disapprove of is mages not reproducing as to continue their bloodline (a much bigger deal for esteemed magister lines like Dorian's). They couldn't care less about homosexual behavior beyond that.
well its selfish to let your bloodline die. Ill tenously argee but to claim diviance that where i disagree.New information points out that the Tevinter Imperium, does not approve of same sex relationships and considers it to be "selfish" as well as deviant behavior, however they do encourage it in their favorite slaves. New information? I thought this was already known... same sex relationships can't produce new mages, after all... where did you hear that it was considered to be "deviant," though? That part is new, unless by "deviant," you mean "deviating from the social norm of producing children." The basis of their culture is creating as many new, powerful mages each generation, so I can understand why a family would consider it selfish if somebody decides they don't want to help out. That's pretty much how these families maintain their political power and wealth.
On this note, I have a feeling that the Red Templars are also backed by the Magisters.
My post from a different thread: "Has anybody noticed the connection the Red Templars appeared to have to Tevinter? Commander Duhaime of the Freemen (a faction that appears to be working closely with the Reds) wears Tevinter colors. The interior of the chateau had Templar banners hanging right beside stained glass windows depicting Blood Magic sacrifices and slaves."

According to Brother Genetivi in Dragon Age Inquisition, it doesn't sound so specific, but who knows right, maybe Genetivi got wrong.

in was shown in one of the Inquisition new videos, the player had found a codex entry on Sexuality in Thedas, and it talked about Orlai, Ferelden and Tevinter's view on same sex relationships.

So did they elaborate at all, or it just a general dislike of same sex couples with no reason behind it? Because that would be kind of lame...

The quote itself says it is considered deviant among nobles (which in Tevinter would be Magisters and/or Altus mages), not in general. He further states that "nowhere is it forbidden, and sex of any kind is only considered noteworthy of judgement when taken to awful excess or performed in the public eye".

thats what i meant of course, but i didn't want to spoil everything. Of course they mention noble, who else would have slaves in tevinter? I suppose a merchant could have one but i wasn't really think about them.
I wonder how many dwarve/ elves or humans it to create those legendary colossi?

One each.
Just because they are bigger, doesn't mean they needed more souls/spirits to occupy/control the giant golems.
It is no wonder that Tevinter has gotten their ass beaten on the open field so many times, if their soldiers are stupid enough to sit on the back of a scorpion.... That takes a special kind of idiot...
I'm not sure about scorpion part, maybe it is idiotic. But Tevinter absolutely and utterly crushed any single Thedas Nation in all of the wars it had and was only defeated by united Thedas coupled with exalted marches. Capturing free marches was walk on the park for Tevinter. Oh and out many exalted marches only two have been successful against Tevinter which means more war slaves.

That is interesting...I didn't catch that. i'll need to go back and look.

you realise of course the implications?
the venatori are a small pointless faction to tevinter, which is why they left tevinter to continue their work.
If they control the red templars....... one small faction controlling an army of insane nutters well then the Qunari are screwed!
You know the Venatori are a small pointless faction...how?you realise of course the implications?
