We need to get together at a bar one day.
We can share stories.

Oh.
One is flashy impractical bull**** and the other is less popular flashy impractical bull****.
Nope :>
LDS is a strictly military style and it's going extinct.
I was taught that by my uncle who learned it off a NATO instructor long before I got HTHD down in the army.
That's the difference.
I can kill you in thirteen separate holds.
Latter-day Saints?
Latter-day Saints?
The Marines based their newer system off of it, and they updated it a few years ago.
Line Defensive System.
It's a martial style developed for military use.
It's the one American Marines and Special Forces were taught a few decades ago.
Yes, well, Ansatsuken is a fictional derivative of Shotokan Karate, which involves a healthy amount of grappling, throws, and submission holds.
Of course, with magic at their disposal I'd imagine a person would primarily focus on making decisive and disabling strikes. Attempting to deliver a flying knee to a Qunari sounds, on paper, obviously impractical and flamboyant, but the idea of a human grappling with a Qunari or placing one in a submission hold is no less so.
Of course, I'd be producing the former scenario in a proper context that makes use of the fictional elements within the Dragon Age world. Under the cover of the Warriors' signature heavy fog, the individual would Fade Step in, deliver a flying knee as a way to both clear the vertical distance to the Sten's head, and also kill it in a single strike (utilizing rock armor + physical enhancement with magic), and then Fade Step out before the rest of the Sten's squad can react. Alternatively, he might also use a throat punch, but, you know, Tiger Knee. Acceptable use of Rule of Cool within this context.
Given this specific situation (The target is a Sten in the middle of his squad giving commands), and the presence of magic that would allow a martial artist in DA to perform feats impossible in real life, I think a massive strike would be preferable to a grapple or submission hold.

Not even close to true; you must have missed his heel runs in WWF and WCW.

That post was just not one of my better moments. ![]()
Fair enough. Admittedly, I came in late. I had watched old matches on youtube, but I didn't see Bret monologue until after it stopped being WWF and became WWE. So I knew he was amazing to watch in the ring, but the times I saw him on mic, he had trouble getting into the swing.
