last i checked we tevinters magisters/magi are held to a higher standard and have a moral obligation to help the boy.
The boy is dead and unimportant and Alexius is a magister with forces under his command which are more important to get for our fight with the Elder One.
Ya, Leliana really jumped the gun on that part. My Inquisitor will be upset if she does that during my human mage canon playthrough. "We were talking, we were getting more information, then you just HAD TO UPSET HIM, NEEDLESSLY, and forced a conflict."
I wouldn't be friends with him either, as his group is responsible for some of this mess, but I would accept them as underlings/subordinates/agents after imprisoning Alexius. Then would either gather info from Alexius and make him an underling overtime or send him back to Tevinter if they request him.
Just some thoughts after seeing that scene.
Still, the Venatori either get with the program and be absorbed into the Inquisition or perish. No way their organization is doing any good, but the individuals may redeem themselves.

Mine's going to be to. Was planning on a dalish mage who has the whole Andraste thing go to their head. They'll probably end up supporting the Imperial Chantry if somehow given the chance.

Speaking of recruiting Alexius, the mission we saw involved Leliana because we sent her... kind of wondering what happens if we send Josephine instead, maybe she'll be able to get the venatori to play nice? Or maybe she'll just die horribly

Cullen has a pretty pro-templar mindset though (least from what i've seen), and they are mages. He might actually be the worst one to use, at least from that perspective.

My canon would probably sent Cullen and a platoon (I doubt he'll go alone), to investigate the lack of communocations, since with all the problems in Thedas, thinking that something went wrong isn't that far-fetched.

Well, I headcanon mine as having studied Chantry lore, and forming the (almost impossible) theory that the Old Gods-Maker and creators are actually the same. With the Maker being Fen'harelOh yeah, when it comes to religion mine is going to be kind of bi-polar, full on Herald of Andraste while still believing in most of the Dalish stuff. Unable to deny what happened but not necessarily wanting to give up their heritage, probably reconcile it as the creators are aspects of the Maker or something weird like that.
Split the difference and go with the Imperial Chantry, since its closer to what the elves of old had

Good art that. Although, I noticed the Grey Warden heraldry on Bethany, but then I remembered something important about Tevinter history.
The original Grey Wardens were Imperials. They may have sworn neutrality, but the original Grey Wardens did consist of Tevinter mages, not that surprising, but still.
My Warden gone Alistair's Queen would totally seek out Tevinter Mages if they could help her have an heir to the throne. Especially if Avernus's research yields nothing along those lines. Have her son/daughter marry an Archon's son/daughter to secure the deal, fine! Alliance between Ferelden and the Imperium? No problem, just give me a baby so Anora doesn't rise to power anyway after Alistair and I loose our tainted minds and leave the throne without an heir! While my Warden is in Tevinter might behoove her to pick up some rare poison and use it on Anora and deal with that backstabbing viper once and for all when I get back from the Imperium with my baby!
