Well, I haven't read this entire thread (nor will I ), so I can't tell if it has been suggested, but I like the whole Tavinter Imperium concept so much that I think that a D.A. game based intirely in Tavinter/ Nevarra MUST happen.

For the Imperium to make anyone bow they would actually have to leave their city and WIN a battle.  They aren't even mad the Qunari kicked their ass off of their own island...they just stand behind their walls and run their mouth.  It's like that little kid who always likes to act hard when his dad is picking him up, but when hes on his own he goes and stands in the corner where he belongs.

Choice is extremely important when it comes to Tevinter in particular. Are we going to have the choice to embrace its culture, or are we going to be forced to radically modify it to better resemble the South?

While it is true the bigger your horn the less other things you need to make up for it.  There is no excuse or anything of worth that comes from making stuff up in your head that makes you feel better about your reality.  Denial is a weak and pitiful way to live.  Man up.  I've seen the "magnificence" of the Tevinter.  I've seen how easily they die, how quick they are to retreat back to their walls when tested.

 

When the care bears of Thedas crush your pitiful walls with paper boats and burning spit balls you will be the ultimate joke!

Tevinter Imperium has been binding its time, the power is there and it will be used. Legions will march and trample down that fallacy which is the qun. You really shouldn´t believe run away slaves and covards who run away from the power as they are in denial because the truth is so earth shattering.

I sure hope DA4 gives us that change, otherwise I am screwed.

*Nazlik stood in the river bench washing herself in the afternoons sunlight. They had found this ice cold river streaming down from the mountains during their travel as they were making their way towards areas ruled by the Imperium. Coming across this little river was a stroke of luck and they decided to wash away the dirt from the ancient tomb off their bodies. He insisted in taking the first watch and let her enjoy the fresh water first. She bent down and filled the golden bowl with water then poured it slowly over her. The crystal clear water made the sunlight glimmer on her naked body. He sat there watching her fascinated as the sun played on her slightly bronze skin.

Nazlik glanced at him and a playful smile rippled on her lips. "Well watchman, maybe you should join me here since you are doing such a poor job at guarding me".
"On the contrary, I am keeping a keen eye on you" he said smiling at her, "I take my duties seriously". She pulled her wet white hair back between her delicate horns. "My hair is a mess" she sighted looking for her ribbon to tie it down. "I adore your hair" he whispered in his thoughts. "Whats that?" she asked looking at him curiously. "Nothing" he replied still in his thoughts looking at her slender body. Her small but visible belly mound spoke of obvious future. Despite the situation he couldn´t help but be blissful.

Nazlik had proposed that they would try to find her parents during their trekking through the hills.
*"You know, we could go live with my family" she said with a coy voice, "people probably think we are dead. This might be our change to have a life of our own...".*
The hopeful look in her eyes was a clear signal. He couldn´t answer to her, as much as he wanted. Something was holding him back.

Why wasn´t he full of fear? In his heart he knew there would be repercussions, with a high probability those would be life threatening, with the path ahead. But somehow he couldn´t care less. It was just this moment of sheer joy and serenity. He closed his eyes and lifted his face to meet the sunlight. Warm breeze caressed his face. He thought of Nazlik´s proposal. It could happen, they could just leave. Leave it all behind. Zera would inherit his seat in the Magisterium, life would go on. They could be happy living of the land. And for the first time in his life, he could be truly happy...

And then right there, at precisely that moment he knew he was in a crossroads of his life. On the other direction there was his life with Nazlik. A simple life filled with the simple pleasures and challenges such life would present to them. A free and happy life, to raise their child free from doubt. On the opposite direction was the Imperium and his life as a Magister. A life where her and the child´s life would be in danger every moment. A life where the happy moments were confined in a short but luxurious moments.

He could feel the world turning and time seemed to stand still, "decide" echoed suddenly in his mind, the same dark voice he heard while struggling for his life in that dark tomb. From the deep and dark depth of his mind rose a memory. A vision of a man. A man with white hair and silver eyes. A human man sitting in the Archons throne. Imperial flags flying over Qunandar. "It can be..." echoed in his mind.

A sudden splash of ice cold water interrupted him sharply recoiling him into the present moment. "Hey there dreamer!" Nazlik gigled, "take off your stinky clothes and come over here!". With a smile Ukki stood up and started to undress.

In his heart he knew. It was decided, the Imperium.

It is quite funny that there is plenty of NPC using TI themed armours but the PC has no option to get them. I would wear Erimond's outfit most of the time. To be honest I'm a little bit afraid of what may happen when we get to Imperium. Considering BioWare's fits of progressive agenda, TI might get dilluted and bring main focus on the imperial thrash; slaves, commoners and what not, leaving magisters as 'the worst' with some exceptions of nobility traitors who care for the lesser being. Iwould like to see the full glory of this place, not the poster boys of martyrdom.

I have a feeling we have to wait for the dlc for a while. But then again I would save anything worth doing with Tevinter for DA4. Would not want to get it screwed up in haste.

*Sweat dripped off his face as little insects buzzed around his head trying desperately have a change to suck his blood. He flailed them away irritated by their little buzzing and the intense heat rippling in the air. Dozens of different calling sounds echoed in the air as the myriad life forms of the jungle around competed with each other trying to get their own voice heard. This little grove at the bottom of a larger sandpit was a burning hot place just to sit around and wait, as the wind stood still there. But that is what he had to do now.

After passing the hills they had to plunge into the waste jungle spreading all around the hill area. At first Ukki was happy to get out of the hills, as going up and down the hill sides started to slowly annoy him, but then he had to change his mind. Finding the way across the jungle was time consuming as the dense growth slowed their movement to a minimum. Colorful flowers, huge leafs and lianas blocked the view effectively. Seeing past the next five steps was practically impossible. After couple of days wondering around he had to admit it, they had lost their way.

It took several days of aimless wondering for them to suddenly stumble on this small valley. Here the vegetation was not so dense, the Sun was mostly able to shine all the way to the ground level. And as they noticed, it was not an improvement despite them being now able to enjoy occasional hot breeze of air. The scorching heat accompanied by the humidity of the jungle only made things now worse.
Nazlik was concerned as she had some seen some familiar traces, despite of his questions though she refrained from guessing anything at this point. All the tracks and paths suggested that a group of people lived somewhere in the area. As they had climbed over a small hill and were descending down to its opposite side Nazlik suddenly grabbed him by the arm pulling him down.

"Don´t move! There are people in front of us" she hissed, "people, and what seems to be huts too".
"What people?" he asked curiously and tried to peer ahead. "People mean food and water" he continued trying to get up. Nazlik pulled him down again, "these are natives, what do you think they will do when they see you?" she asked concerned. "I hardly look like a Tevinter Magister now" he said, "look at me". He pointed at his dirty face and torn clothes. Nazlik gigled, "you look like a ghast". "They can be Fog Warriors though and than means trouble" she continued with more serious tone, "there are many factions on this island".

"Wait here for a moment, I will scout ahead" she said and slipped away silently before he was able to say anything. Ukki had no other choice but to sat on the small stone among the vegetation cursing the hot air and insects.

After for a few hot and agonizing moments she reappeared from the bushes. "As I suspected, they are Fog Warriors, I can see the clan markings on them. I have never seen this tribe" she whispered. "This is extremely dangerous now. Let me do the talking, I am Tal-Vashoth and not part of the Qun. I now how to talk to them" Nazlik said. "Just follow me and don´t talk unless spoken to. If anyone asks you are just another Tevinter slave on the run. Don´t worry love, It will be fine. I will protect you" she said cupping his face and giving him a small kiss, then she stood up and started to walk towards the village. Ukki went after her dumbfounded, "protect me?".

As they were approaching the village a series of alarm whistles could be heard in the air. A group of armed men appeared from the village before they were able to set foot in the area. A large and tattooed man stood in front of the group holding casually a two handed sword in his hands. The other men were armed with bows and spears. They seemed to be a bit nervous as the surprise visitor were not spotted by the lookouts in time. All of the men wore leather armor patched up with occasional metal plating. A ragtag bunch of cutthroats.
"Stop right there" the big man said lifting his hand. "You can call me Lucius, I need to know who you are and what are you doing here?".
"I apologize for this intrusion. We had no idea of this place, we were just passing through here" Nazlik said, "I am Meraad of the Beres-taar tribe in the north and I am taking this run away Teviter slave to southern coast. He wants to find a way to mainland".

"Oh really, and what are you doing here then, why didn´t you go along the coast? Lucius asked with a suspicious tone, "and when did the Tal-vashoth have such a fancy armor?" he pointed at her elaborate armor.
"This?" she tapped her chest, "We got lost in the jungle as we avoided Tevinter troops in the area. He escaped from his master who was with those troops and stole this armor as he ran. I bumped into him. I got it as a reward for guiding him to coast and as I already have business there I thought why not".
"Well see" the man said, he turned to one of his companions whispering something to him. The man nodded and left with a haste. "I will check something first before we let you pass" Lucius said casually eyeing them, "we will wait here until this is settled".
"Can we at least have some water? We got lost and have spent almost all of our water" Nazlik said. Lucius nodded to one of his men and he threw his canteen at Nazlik. "Thank you" she said taking a long sip, without turning she handed the water to Ukki, "now we will just wait then?". "Thats right" Lucius said calmly.

The hot afternoon sun was scorching, there was no clouds in the clear sky. Nazlik and Ukki sat on a log as the group of Fog Warrior stood there keeping a eye on them. Occasionally someone from the village approached them interested but the guardsmen waved them away. After some time they noticed a man coming their direction. Lucius gestured the man to come to him. After a few whispers they all approached Ukki and Nazlik. "Now we will see how it goes" Ukki thought getting up.
This new man stopped for a moment as he gazed upon Ukki with a mixture of disbelief and hope. He had severe burning marks on his face which twisted his speech fairly much, "so you are a slave from Tevinter, what is your name?" he asked pointing his question to Ukki.
"Thats right" he said, "My name is Aulus. I was with my master as part of the Tevinter troops sent to the area. There was a huge battle with the qunari, I used it to run away from him".
"Is that so?" man said gazing him. Ukki had a bad feeling about this, he obviously didn´t believe him. "And who was your master?" the man asked pensively.
"Magister Ukki of the house Vaellanius" he replied.

The man turned to his companions, "you want to know who this man truly is?" he asked raising his voice. "Look at that posture and and that arrogant look in his eyes! Even now, covered with filth and rags you can see that this man is a Magister!". He turned to Ukki with spit splattering from his mouth as he shouted with rage twisting his face. "You don´t know me, do you? I was your slave many years ago. You are Magister Ukki of house Vaellanius! You sacrificed my wife for power and sold my children into slavery and killed me for standing up to you!" he shouted pointing his burned face.
"But I didn´t die! I, Titus, lived! I ran, and I prayed for the maker to give me this one change! One change so that I might have my revenge!" His high pitched voice was exultant as he waved his arms around.

A cold smile creeps on Ukki´s lips, he knew how this would end.

"that smile, that cursed smile!" Titus screamed, "It has haunted my dreams! Maker I thank you!", with those words he drew his sword. Nazlik gasped as Ukki let his power fill him. His power came over him like a soothing tidal wave.

Burns, everything burns. Air ripples with infernal heat and black smoke covers the sun. He hears faint screams all around him as the power flows through him like water. Someone runs towards him with a sword in his hand shouting. A fiery cone turns the man into a human torch. Screaming begins again. Someone cries at his feet, a little girl holding her bloody mother in her arms. She looks at him with tears in her eyes, "mom, please don´t hurt my mom!". He walked past the girl without a word.
Dead bodies litter the ground and the smell of burning flesh fills the air. Titus lay on the ground among them, his body is twisted and mangled. Glazed eyes staring at the sky.

There are no one left to challenge him anymore. Nazlik walks behind him stunned. "We need to take water and food with us" he hears his own voice speaking, "we have still a long way to go".*

The last experiment did not yield much success. It seems I went too deep, almost lost... who I was. My assistant claims I tried to converse with him in the cow-speak for a good five minutes after he shook me out of the trance. Strange. I remember the conversation, and being befuddled by his inability to comprehend me, yet I perceived nothing strange in my manner of speaking. I suppose some use could be made of this, just not in the way I had wanted.

 

After I had regained my strength and returned to my home, a courier came by with a message before I had even shut the door. Someone, it seems, is very interested in my work. Not just my current endeavors, but also my other studies in the applications of Blood Magic (applications my peers and respective patrons dismissed as absurdity and foolishness. Ha!), and that they would be able to provide me with an ample supply of suitable subjects. Though, they did not state whom they represent... I fear this may be a trap; the conspiring of Qunari spies, or maybe that of a jealous rival trying to steal my work. Perhaps it would be better if I stayed at the Circle tonight...
