I think we need to remeber is that while X in thedas is based on Y it doesnt mean they follow "convetional war tatics or if they even exist. Yeah similarities exist but doesnt mean they wholly follow through and share the same fate in the end

Yep. I´d like to extend that to the societal evolution of Thedas, I hope it keeps its current medieval tone (thought Orlais is somewhat strange 19th century mix up, which I hope to forget, especially the WW2 german ammo pack on Inq´s back *shivers*). Things like gun powder should stay off the game IMO.

The grand hall of the house Vaellanius tower was filled with societal creme of the Imperium. Everyone from the Archon to the lowest members of the Senate could be spotted from the hall. Music filled the air and dancers whirled through the dance floor.
Ukki sat on his seat at the elevated area for the members of the Magisterium. Archon sat next to him, on the right side as a prestigious guest. The lady of the house Mucia was seated on his left side. Nazlik stood behinds his seat in the shadows. "Excellent party lord Vaellanius" Archon said leaning towards him, "You did not lose your skill to entertain during your odyssey through the Seheron jungle. I am sure bards will be singing tales of your exploits as soon as they have made up stories grand enough".
"Thank you my lord" Ukki nods, "It is the least I can do. I hope you found my my report of the events satisfactory. There was a momentarily hassle with my unexpected return, but now things are settled" he glazes at Mucia from the side of his eye. She ignores him by looking the other way raising her chin.
"I am glad you could take time to participate in this little feast. I know hearing about the Magister Generals safe return has been good news too, especially since you two are long time accuaintances from the Circle times". Archon nods satisfied, "indeed, he is a good friend of mine and it is good to hear he is doing well. As you as well".

As Ukki concentrated to watch the acrobatic performers on stage he suddenly felt a hand touching him. Mucia had placed her hand on his hand, surprised by this strange token of affection he turned to look at her. "I have been thinking" Mucia said, "maybe we could try to work things out. I could move in here. Maybe we could give us one more change?". This totally unexpected proposal momentarily made him speechless. Somewhere in the shadows Nazlik moved a bit.
"Where did this come from?" he asked. "I have not really known you at all during these years, even we are married. Maybe if we would get to know each other there could be a change of reconciliation? It is not too late to give our daughters a family" Mucia said looking at him.

Finally home. He walked through the main hall looking at the servants and slaves welcoming him back. On top of that his daughters were hanging on him like burdocks. This place was the cause of so much grief but in a strange way he felt happy to get back, a home nevertheless. After he had left his daughters to the dining room he walked into his study, only to find Mucia there rummaging through his desk. "What is the meaning of this?" he barked startling her. "By the void! How is it you are alive?" Mucia gasped dropping some of the papers in her hand, "I was told you were dead".
"Dead or alive, you have no place here either way. Anything in this tower goes to Zera. You know that" he said.
"I know, I asked her permission" she placed the papers she had collected on the table.
"Permission to steal my papers? I doubt that".
"How is it you are here? I received a Imperial letter signed by the Magisterium telling me you had fallen in combat" she said regaining her confidence, "I had even a nice little funeral prepared, finally".
"I´m not that easy to kill. You should know" he said sourly. Mucia snorted at him, "I will find myself out then".
"You do that" he said waiting her to leave the room.

He shaked himself off his thoughts, "No". Mucia looked at him wrinkling her brow. "There was never anything between us. And there never will be. I don´t know what caused this but it will not work. You tried to murder me, disregarding everything else that alone should tell you how things are. I believe you know your way out of the tower after this celebration is over", he pulled his had off.
"You know why I am doing this, your secret is leaking" she said hissing to him, "last week I head a bard singing a song about forbidden love. Power and slave. People will know of your unnatural love. It will destroy our family. If anything you should think of your daughters. You should have stayed dead".

Ukki ignored her and stood up grabbing his crystal glass, "now my friends and colleagues, let me toast for the Imperium, our beloved Archon, my triumphant return and for good health!". The crowd joined him cheering. "Sadly I must withdraw myself from the feast, it has been a long trip back home and I am not yet fully healed. Please enjoy the party, my daughter and her husband will be your host for the rest of the evening". He grabbed Monkey and Zera by their shoulders. Nodding to the Archon he left the table.
As he walked through the crowd he noticed lady Valentius caught in a heated debate with one of the enchanters. This beautiful young artificer was a Monkey´s find. A low born, soporati, but one with impressive background. As soon as he had read the intel on her he had proposed Monkey to bring her into the house. She had already proven her skills, and talent was where you find it. The young lady noticed him looking despite the argument and greeted him with a raised glass through the crowd. He nodded at her with a faint smile.

He exited from the ball Nazlik in tow. They walked through the silent corridors and rooms as most of the servants and slaves were at the ball serving guests. As they went by his study Nazlik suddenly stepped forward. She grapped him pressing him against the wall. "Power and slave" she whispered kissing him, "you turned her down". "There is but one woman in my life, you" he said holding her.

A dark figure stood in the shadows watching in silence. Mucia looked at them rage boiling inside her, she had followed him wanting to talk to him more about them but this...*
