Ever play Marvel vs Capcom 3? It's quite remarkable how well they translated his (post-mutation) moveset and playstyle.

It isn't as fatal as I'd prefer but yes it's a decent job.

Mhm, in the absence of The Witcher, I need to play something else. The aesthetics of the game does not attract me.

How about the new kickstarter rpg´s like Torment: Tides of Numenera, Wasteland 2, Pillars of Eternity, or the BG, sword coast? Aren´t some of them out already? I´m not qure sure though, was waiting for them all to come out before I start buying them.

*Mettius took a careful step to the alley next to his house through a small servant door. He glanced around the alley in the darkness of the night to make sure no one was there. Despite the distant steps of the night watch everything else seemed to be alright. With a sight he slipped into shadows pulling his hood on. "This might work", he thought, "I might get away. I should have never taken part of the cursed plan". It was a known secret that Magister Ukki was a vengeful person, and people had a tendency just to disappear if they had crossed him. At that time though the clink of gold coins had led him astray. By the Void! How stupid that now felt. He had been tipped of that the Magister knew of him now so he had decided to skip Minrathous fast and run for his life. To somewhere far away, Perivantium maybe, or even Nevarra. Maker, I will run all the way to Fereldan if need to be, he thought.

He was a mediocre mage but had no illusions of standing up against a Magister. A soporati class mage had few friends among the powerful ones and even fever when push came to shove. As he sneaked along the alley he thought of what brought him here. He had a job as one of the clerks in the Circle. A good job now as he thought about it. Since he´s job description required him to spend a lot of time circling around the different imperial offices, he had a lot of acquaintances among the lover officials. One day he was approached, by a stranger he knew only by name. This person had offered him a lot of gold. A lot of gold just to start a rumor, a small rumor without any direct implication of involvement. Just a rumor. He hesitated at start as he knew the person of whom the rumor was supposed to be about. But that cursed gold, it had charmed him. At first everything went well, just few whispers here and there. Nothing that serious, until Archon started to arrest those being members of the Venatori group. And now the recent revelation he had stumbled on.

One day he came across with a strange parchment, just accidentally as he was merely stamping the paper pile to have some work finally done. This paper had caught his attention. It had something to do with a transfer of the Eluvian away from the Circle, to the tower of house Vaellanius. The same man of whom he had started those rumors. A loan for a week the paper said, as he was the official responsible with it he had to check the item before sending it and after shipping it back. It was not a unusual request as Magisters occasionally borrowed something from the Circle. People didn´t do much with the Eluvian anyway these days. Countless Magisters had tried to make it work through the ages without any luck. So the Eluvian had just stood there in one of the Circles storage rooms forgotten, just gathering dust for a very long time now.

Then it was returned, after the week like it was supposed to. But it was not the same Eluvian, of that he was sure. Everything, absolutely everything was as it should be with the mirror. Each scratch, each dent and and each worn patch. Each dimension of the structure. It even had the same magical aura. But not that one thing, the magical mark he had placed on it by himself. As he was checking the mirror before sending it out he placed a small mark in the ornamental part of the mirrors rear. Invisible to the eye, only to be seen with a specific spell. He did that just out of boredom while dreaming of being a Magister himself, discovering the secrets of the artifact. And now this. He had mentioned his suspicion to one of his co-workers in a moment of weakness who had dismissed him as being a lunatic. Later someone told him this man worked for the Magister himself. And then he got the secret warning.

As he walked towards the alley entrance someone stepped before it, standing in the dim light closing his path. His heart started beating faster as he turned around, just to see a flash of dark figure swinging a runed baton towards his head.

A ice cold flash woke him up. First he was confused as the pain throbbed in his head, what happened? Where is this, where am I? He tried to see his surroundings but the dim light prevented it. Then he noticed a ward on which he was on his knees. His hands were also in warded shackles. His captors had nullified his magic.
"You have been busy" someone said. Mettius tried to see who was talking, there was a figure in the room but the dim light prevented him from seeing who it was.
"So much gold for a little rumor. Nothing serious right?". Now he could see a bit better as his eyes adjusted to the light. It was a woman, and two men were standing on his both sides in the shadows. "You do understand that even rumors have consequences right?" she asked again. "And then you go around saying the most strangest things too". She walked closer and he could see a bright dagger in her hand.
"I swear, I will not say anything! I will run, I will leave and never return!" Mettius panicked.
"Yes you will" she said leaning towards him, "but before that you will tell me all about the people whom you have talked with about my master".

It was a dawn of a new day. Ukki walked into his study after good nights rest as Nazlik had let him sleep for most of the night. He poured himself some wine and started to read through the latest reports. Among the pile was a note, it had just three words in it, "it is done".

He smiled taking a sip of the wine and then squeezed the parchment in a ball.*

 I remembered that you wanted to see one of my drawings, but they are all ugly, then I looked at yours and decided to make one. Only one thing: makes one or two years when I design anything(I'm very rusty :x) and my stroke was strongly influenced by others, then it can be too ridiculous. Here's my version of your character, I do not know how to color, I would only destroy the draw more if I tried. I tried anyway take the whole body, but could not. I had to take the picture by mobile phone. ;-;

I give them persistent obedience without the need for ambient blood magic, and they tell me that they "appreciate my contribution", but they can "no longer support this endeavor". I am happy for him and feel like something refreshing and new will really be a return to form for him and fire him up.  It will be interesting to see the story on their new IP.

 

I'm not sure what to expect as far as DA goes though.

How much does lead writers change affect on the story? I mean can he actually do drastic changes, or does he just follow pre-set line with his own view. How does he see the DA world? I was under the impression from the other threads that this new guy is still rather traditional.

I really don't expect anything "refreshing" from DA from franchise. If anything, they have only moved further away from such concepts since Origins.

There is more faction in the Wasteland vying for power and control though. I still remember convincing the Master to give up, and take down the Enclave.

 

If you're truly interest in the lore, Red. This may be a good place to start.

Well, we happen to favor different faction this time, Red. Let's just say I liked the NCR more, and prefer them over other faction in FNV. However, three of my favorite characters from FNV are from the Caesar's Legion or used to work for them.

I'm not even from the U.S. let alone California, and despite all the NCR flaws and fault, regardless of how this faction seems like a corrupt republic, incompetence ruler and imperialist who's trying to take over everything. They are still better than most, and I personally believe they're the best hope for the Mojave Wasteland.
