I hope so, although I fear they'll force us to go with their preferred choice or BioWare may choose to go with "reform the entire civilization from the inside" or "everyone unite against greater enemy" formula for their story. In case there's other civilization from other continent invading Thedas. As much as some like to drown Par Vollen in Qunari's blood or to see the Imperium crumble to the sea. I don't see either happening unless it was the last game, and speaking of ME3 I'm still trying to forget about that game...why did you have to mention it again.
They seem better at saying "Look at this problem" and exploring it a little, but not really getting into the political details well. Or like you said, just creating a bigger problem so everyone can shed their differences and "unite" against it.
I've said this was childish before. And the more I think of it, it's even more childish than star wars prequels....which actually got into a lot of politics (first thing that comes to mind, since I watched them recently).
Sorry for mentioning ME3 though.
