Just out of personal advancement what are the requirements to be recognized in the senate as a magister?

 

Either by inheriting it, being a magister's chosen replacement, or being appointed by the Archon... I think, have to look it back up.

 

I know that Archons used to be chosen from the magisterium, but now only the magisterium can vote among the altus to become the Archon.

Looks like they are chosen from the different Circles. Grand Clerics are also magisters and the Divine. They can be inherited, and an Archon can name a magister at anytime.

 

The Archon can not be a magister or hold an office within the Imperial Chantry, but doesn't seem to have to be a mage as some after Hessarian were not mages, as in 7:34 Storm, an Archon was elected from the enchanters which apparently was a new thing since the Transfiguration or something.

 

Edit2: An Archon usually inherits the seat, but if no heir is chosen or around, then the Magisterium elects the next Archon.

Damn good question.

 

it would have to relate to the power of your house, not just money and political connections, but also your pedigree as a mage.

then again it could be an alliance type thing others support your bid solely to block rivals moves.

 

I'm afraid however the magisterium is rather traditional and would be unlikely to support one with your radical beliefs about property ownership.

It is unlikely an immigrant can be a magister by being chosen among the Circles, and positions within the Imperial Chantry are usually inherited as well.

 

I do say "usually" because it is not always the case.

 

So, by either showing true knowledge and strength in the Circle you are a part of or showing true leadership and faith within the Chantry can possibly lead one to become a magister.

 

But being a magister could get in the way of other pursuits. Politics can be annoying at times.

First Enchanters can not be elected to the magisterium.

 

I think the rank of enchanter still sticks, although you have other things to deal with than just Circle business.

I'll be rolling a human mage first, although depending on how the game plays out, he may just be a part of the orlesian Chantry, because that is how his family is and how he grew up. If he can speak about how magic is a gift from the Maker more or show sympathy or even adherence to the Imperial Chantry, that would be cool. Although, he does not like this open rebellion of the mages, as uncontrolled and chaotic magic is not a good thing, even the Imperium knows that. Order and proper respect to authority is important in Tevinter... at least that is what I read in WoT.

 

Second playthrough will either be a female qunari warrior or a female dwarf rogue... still undecided on that.

Doesn't sound like you want to get involved in politics. Maybe you can just be a senior enchanter who does research and leads templars against rogue mages as a hobby. Since having first hand experience against rebel blood mages can give opportunities to test theories and such.

If anything is going to be modded in, I would hope for a mage death glare. Either Omega Beam style or Evil Fire Lightning like in the comic. Although, that should be top level ability only for cut-scenes, when the Inquisitor is so powerful that the Inquisitor just doesn't care about scaring those around.

 

Find the big, evil traitor, traitor gives last speech opposing the Inquisition, Inquisitor turns to face the traitor and does a literal death glare.
