He denies them speech in the afterlife and the ability to see.

He takes them with a wood carving knife while their still living.

But that isn't all there is to H.

He eats still living flesh to appease the movement of blood but it's simply devotion.

No; his true darkness lies beneath religion.

It's not his indifference or even ambitious nature, it's his utter cruelty. Example; he once freed four slaves only to rape, impregnate and sacrifice them and his unborn offspring to satisfy his own power, to gain additional ability and strength.

He consorts with Liches and the Black ones for a reason.

He isn't about dying.

He's a living conduit for the spirit of domination.

He ended up becoming more a tertiary antagonist then a party member after a while.

Not so much of a god though, bowing his head for a darkspawn. Of all things. Motives were kind of there though.

*A barely audible sound echoed in the dark room. A small draft from the gap appeared in the window moved curtains slightly. Silence lingered for a moment then the window started to open. A dark character slipped into the room, closed the window behind it, then stood silently in the shadows. Everything seemed calm. The house was sleeping. Agent gazed the room in silence. He knew what he was up against, Horatia was a fierce battle mage. Sledgehammer made of fire in the battlefield. He would have only one change to take her down, there was no room for mistakes now. She was powerful but even powerful people had to sleep, that would be the key he would use. 

 

After he was sure no one had noticed his presence he sneaked silently through the house, checking every room as he passed. He had a bag of powder with him along with his normal set of weapons. Just a pinch of it would silence Horatia for good. Inhaled this powder would just stop her heart, a merciful death. And by the morning any dust would have evaporated of her body. She had been one of his mentors in Ordo Silentia, someone he had looked up to and more, but she had to die. Somewhere deep inside his mind his true self screamed. But the oily lingering demand had the control. 

 

The agent moved silently up the stairs to the second floor avoiding guards and servant quarters. Once he had placed the dust on her leaving would be easy. He had gone through the drawings of her manor several times. The route to her chamber was clear. He slipped through a hallway and stopped by her door. This is it, he thought taking a deep breath. Then he silently slid the door open.

 

The room was silent and dark. He could see someone sleeping under the blanket in the elaborate bed. Armor and weapons were placed on a dummy standing in the corner. Her lance leaning on it. He remembered the first time he saw her in action. It was love at first sight, a love that burned deep inside his heart, never to be spoken of. How could she love someone like him? And now she had to die. A small shake in his arm spoke of internal battle, a last desperate attempt. He moved silently closer to the bed pulling open the the bag in his arm. Move fast, no hesitation, he thought. He reached out with a pinch of the powder in his finger.

 

A sudden hiss startled him. A cat by her side showed its teeth to him. He gazed at the cat and then her, she had her eyes open. Looking at him. "Flavius?" she asked surprised. With a tremendous effort he let loose the powder between his fingertips. A power surge threw him straight up in the air and over the bed, along with the dust he had sprinkled. His years long training started working as he landed on his feet at the end of the bed. Horatia rushed up from the bed, it was now matter of seconds for him. Flavius threw the bag in his hand at her throwing himself out of the door. A powerful flame erupted behind him igniting the flammable powder. A massive explosion shook the room throwing the door off its hinges. 

 

Flavius rolled down the hallway turning on his feet running. The manor was now awake, he could hear guards yelling downstairs. Horatia walked out of the burning room her nightgown still smoking, unharmed. "Flavius!" she screamed after him. Flavius wanted to run, so much, but something inside him told him not to. He turned around the corner and slipped into shadows pulling his daggers. Runed for penetrating her shields. "Flavius" she called again walking down the dark hallway, "can you at least tell me why are you doing this, for gold? Is that it? Or did I do something to you?". Flavius circled around her through the servant doors in between the rooms. Deep inside him he fought for control. Still in vain. "You were my favorite student" Horatia said eyeing the dark rooms as she passed them, "A man devoted in the service of the Maker... a good man. I thought we were close.. Are you in trouble, is that it?". 

Flavius emerged from the shadows behind her, daggers gleaming in the dark. He went for the strike. 

 

Inside Flavius mind a tremendous struggle continued. He fought that dark power holding him hostage. I love her, maker help me, he begged. Then suddenly he had control of his voice. "Horatia!" he screamed as he flew towards her. She turned around only to see him in arms reach. "Venhedis!" his whisper sounded almost ecstatic. A sudden burst of fire exploded from inside him burning with the heat of a furnace. He fell on his knees before her as the intense heat burning with a blue flame engulfed him. In a matter of seconds only ash remained.*

There are different editions. Pretty sure we all here played 3.5.

Had to google it. Tons of stuff on that one. I once was asked to play but I wanted to start with a 24 level necromancer mage with his own castle and undead army. They didn´t accept that. 

I don´t know which version they were playing though.

But to be fair, All Gods in D&D kinda suck, nit worth the praise.

The only God ever worth worshipping is always Slaanesh.

I never really thought about divine blessings as anything worthwhile.

That said it's just background text on the character.

Its just about self respect you know. If a God is pathetic, its not worth worshipping.

In Motb my character gave a middle finger to every single God, and no one could stop him. After that I just strive to make my characters powerful as a God or better.

o.o Course I mostly did it for dramatics; you should have seen the DM's eyes when I declared I was going to join the Dark Crusade rather than oppose it, I declared it by launching a greater fire bolt into the chest of our Cyromancer.

It's the only specialized combat magic H knows but it's still a greater spell, so what if he can't specialize in but one.
