Precisely. Gets too heated too fast.

Qunari threads and Tevinter threads and dorf threads mostly treat arguments with a certain amount of lulz. Elf threads get mean. Same with mage/templar threads.

Dark walls, with elegant, faintly glowing runes. A massive black chandelier, lit with torch flame and inlaid with topaz.

 

Some magical oddities, like a large golden astrolabe moving on its own beside an absurdly opulent throne etched with arcane designs. 

 

...Behind that, an immense stained glass mosaic.

And not a throne room, but I always imagined a Tevinter bedroom to have one of those immense four-poster canopy beds, draped with dark, velvety curtains. A probably a more exotic version of a bearskin rug on the floor (drakeskin? Lol, not so fuzzy).

I think I would avoid spikes, chains and skulls. Too obvious and screams of "evil". Something more subtle and ominous, bm-runes would do,silver runes against black backround. Dark colored velvet, pitch black and blood red. Flames to bring flickering lights in large bowls. Use of shadows and fire to bring mood. Qunari skull would do if it would be the Arishok´s, on a pedestal. 

Carvings on the floor and walls, but not colored, only silver framed figures. Dragons and magic related pictures. Events from the Imperium´s history.

 

Throne has to sit atop stairs, all alone maybe just flaming bowls on both sides. And it has to be simple, some decorations but not too much. Tall pillars and statues of important Magisters.

*The uproar in the grand hall was almost unbearable. It had been a long time since this ancient building had seen such a disturbance. Most of the Magister and senators stood in their place shouting and waving their fists.

 

The revelation of the evidence about wide spread blood magic use among the Grand Clerics had stirred the Senate to a point of mayhem. Opposite political parties accused of each other for orchestrating it. Threats and challenges were thrown around among the heated people. Those grand clerics who had been present in Minrathous were bought to the scene in shackles for the hearing, despite their pleas for innocence.

 

Caius walked to the podium calmly while the storm raged in the hall. He raised his hands calling for silence. "Please, my fellow Magisters! Remember who you are and where you are, respect the Magisterium! This is not some barbarian court!".

 

His spell enhanced voice echoed over the hall calming the storm slowly down.

 

"Thank you" He said smiling, "I am sure we can all be reasonable". Caius stood there waiting until even the most hot headed ones had cooled down. He cleared his throat. 

 

"I understand your concern, believe me. I was as shocked as you all when I heard of these startling news", he gazed around the hall. "But we must believe that the templar order has been working under divine guidance. Andraste herself must have guided their hands to this discovery. We must root out this evil from among us mercilessly. Remember what just happened with the Venatori traitors. We cannot have this ordeal to crush our dignity and values. Chantry is a Imperial institute despite what those southern barbarians say and we must keep it clean of any stains".

 

Caius took a dramatic pause, "therefore I will now put ahead a proposal of a vote where the accused Grand Clerics are being superseded from their positions". 

 

A polyphonic shouting begun again in the hall. Some for and some against.

 

Caius lifted his arms again to calm them down, "We must be vigilant and protect the Chantry of corruption. Therefore I also suggest a vote of the successors for the Grand Clerics. There is a list of names of possible clerics, these people are men and women of pure and untainted faith. You will receive them shortly. We must vote for this today, otherwise it would make the Imperium look weak. Delaying will give the wrong signal".

 

"Sure, we all know who these people are Vaellanius. Your pets no doubt!" a younger Magister shouted from the liberal part of the Magisterium.

 

Caius turned to him with a condescending smile on his face. "Well, we all know in who´s legroom you sleep your nights Magister Durio. At least there is no mistake in that", he glanced at Maevaris Tilani. A mischievous laughter broke out among the conservatives in the hall.

 

He gazed at the Magister for a while smiling at him then turned to the hall. 

 

"I am bit hurt but not surprised of this innuendo. But I assure you, these candidates are not part of any political block. They are people picked solely by their devotion to the one and only faith. The Imperial Divine has approved of this list, there is no room for mistakes. I believe we all trust his highness judgement. I will leave it to your vote my esteemed colleagues". 

 

He bowed and left for his seat.

 

The day turned to evening and finally the last vote had passed.

 

Caius walked down the main hall towards the main doors with his guards in tow. A cold smile lingered on his lips, one step completed. He didn´t get all his proteges as new Grand Clerics, but he did get the majority of the seats. Everything was proceeding as planned.*

If I could choose a place to live I would just want to have my own little place in the fade and use my imagination and magic to shape it as I see fit.

 

I'd turn it into a little glorious Lala-land. The sky would be full of stars of all colors, with passing constructs of varying shapes and sizes, both solid and gas-like, and would alternate itself from a dark void to bright lights and infernal fires. Multiple suns would move around and dance with the stars and disappear from time to time to be replaced by rainbows and sparkling golden rain. The land would be full of beautiful trees, flowers and mushrooms of absurd shapes and both traditional and neon colors. The leaves on the tries would grow really fast, and then change color and fallout and be picked up by the wind, flying like butterflies and disappear in the void skies, only to be regrown a new to be completely different, as would the trees themselves. There would be big floating mountains and cracks in the ground with bottomless pits and raging fires. And I would have my own Castle made of rooms without walls that would be connected to the ground and the mountains in the skies, furniture made from both plants and finest materials and rocks. And there would definitely be music, like no mortal has heard before, and the whole world would breath and dance with it. 

That would be my realm, my throne room, my rest place.

 

One can dream eh? That's what the fade is for.

"They had me in chains, Severus! Charged with practicing blood magic!" Marinus jumped in his seat when a servant approached, offering a cup of wine. He glanced over his shoulder, then feverishly snatched it, drinking in hearty gulps. The servant began to withdraw when Marinus grasped her by the sleeve. He returned the empty cup and waved her off, "Another". Wiping his chin, he turned to Severus, "... And you were nowhere to be found!"

 

"My duties drew me away from Minrathous," Severus shrugged, "but it wouldn't have been my concern either way."

 

"Not your c- Caius is lining the seats of the Grand Clerics with his personal cabal of sycophants!" Marinus cleared his throat, looking around the office again.

 

"Unless he is determined a threat to the greater Imperium, or the Archon, I am under no obligation to stop him."

 

Marinus leaned in close, speaking low, "And you think the seat of the Archon is beneath his notice? You are not at all interested in what he could be planning?"

 

"And that is not your concern." Severus stared Marinus down, until the cleric averted his gaze, looking toward the door in anticipation. Sure enough, the servant returned, this time with both the cup, and the bottle.

 

Marinus poured himself another cup, "You know, it is funny... When the Divine proclaimed he innocent, he cited my support of your execution of the Venatori. After all, what could have posed a larger threat to his position? And here they always told me I was throwing in with the losing side." He chuckled, lifting his cup toward Severus.

 

Severus did not return his smile, "Will that be all, Marinus?"

Theres no hope for you.  Bioware doesn't even care to put dwarves in their games.  Only reason Varric was in DAI was they couldn't figure out a good way to kill him off.  Next DA will be the end of him and no dwarves at all.
