I suggest we give this thread a new tagline;

"Tevinter is coming for you"

Ye gods, I just hope that they give the protagonist some real freedom. Allow them to oppose or support, to affiliate themselves with, who and what they please.

It's gonna be great! I wonder if they'll have some kind of slave faction or rebellion in the midst of all this chaos..? THAT would be interesting. Maybe we'll run into Fenris, if he's not schmoozing it up with Hawke.

I suggest we give this thread a new tagline;

"Tevinter is coming"

:lol:

I hope to meet back up with Feynriel, even though he may have died in some players' games. A minor inconvenience.

I'm very excited for what's to come next. As usual I'll keep my eyes open for Tevinter lore and I definitely plan make an RP guide for the future dragon age game. :)

This is a good point, I hope it will be possible to make a radical reform in the empire or leave it as it is, I think the Qunari will not be an option.

Lol, Perfect! And now it's official. Thank you, Archon RobRam!

I'm just desperately hoping that in the next game, it really is coming. I hope we get the chance to engage in dangerous Tevinter politics, to witness all the intricacies of Minrathous culture, and most of all: to dress our character in some actual Tevinter fashion, dammit.

To think they once mocked us, brother and sisters, for supporting the great Tevinter Imperium. Well, now we know where the next DA game is set so our time coming! It may be a few years off still but it is coming! REJOICE and prepare for the great struggle to restore the honor and glory of the empire!

Imagine if the protagonist, as an independent but also potentially influential agent, ends up being called on for lots of different situations throughout Minrathous. They become like the Thedas version of a government spy (or a Spectre  :ph34r: ) When the Archon asks them to be a personal agent of his.

But there's another prominent Magister attempting to seize power, and they approach the protagonist with a compelling offer to turn coat. The protagonist now has the option to favor the contender of their choice, or...

They could instead turn on all the other parties to favor their own ambitions, placing themselves in a more vulnerable, less mobile, but also more ostentatiously powerful position.

That's the kind of thing I was to see.

I hope we join Dorian's faction and start hunting down blood mages in the empire. And of course, fighting back the forces of Qunari. I'm sure theres no doubt that Dorian is committed to opposing the filthy Qun.

I think it will be more or less that, given that if we get into political systems without having some noble birth, we will have to climb from underworld. If this game is about it, really, I will enter in that Hype.

With Bioware's tract record... I fear we'll end up getting Formal Attire 2 Electric Boogaloo.

No I mean Formal Attire 2, nothing like having a female inquisitor go to the most fashionable event in the country dressed like a man  -_-

Yeah, but if female inquisitors were forced to go in a dress there would be people complaining that was sexist? (Why are women force to wear only dresses!)

I'm sure some would go out of their way to be offended by it, but Bioware would be better off if they stopped pandering to that crowd any ways.

Lot of Byzantine Empire theme going on here. Not complaining just saying. I wonder if we'll be an Altus or Laetan as a Mage or maybe we'll be a slave with magic and work our way up like Calpernia. I read a really interesting thread which suggested we could be a Sominari, a Dreamer, which could be an awesome gameplay mechanic, only for mages, human and elf ones obviously. Maybe their will be different political factions in the Senate like a real government where you have conservatives and liberals. And cults! We must have cults!

Some of us want to play as blood mages. That never stopped me from hunting down other blood mages though. Eliminate the competition.  :)

As for pretty dresses, why not give people the choice? How difficult could it possibly be? Yes, I was disappointed not to have a party frock, but I'd hate to be forced into a dress, especially if it were pink and didn't have pockets for concealing a handy stiletto. If they'd made the formal attire more like a Napoleonic war-era jacket, I might have actually worn it again.

This would be more my style than a blue sash and dangly epaulets:

Spoiler

Perhaps a bit warm for the ballroom, though. Considering I spent hardly any of the night dancing, it might have been fine.

I'd prefer to meet a somniarus on a quest or have a somniara companion, because the ability is a bit OP, and I don't want another all-powerful Inquisitor-like protagonist. It might possibly be okay if the protagonist was unaware of her somniara abilities and had to learn, gradually, to use them, with the requisite danger of becoming possessed by a demon or nullifying the ability through blood magic.

I wanna play a traditionalist dwarf who's only gone as far north as the Ambassadoria. And just when they thought they were finally free of petty politicking, they get thrust in the middle of Tevinter's noble crap.

eta; I meant embassy, not Ambassadoria :P

It would be good to have someone having a talent the pc does not have, and it could be something s/he could exploit to achieve the required goal. What ever that might be. Choices, choices, and more choices.

I'm having mixed feelings about the game going to Tevinter. It's exciting, and yet... I've come to love the Imperium of my imagination. What happens when all these mundane pro-Chantry, anti-mage people get their claws into it? I'm just going to have to avoid the forums when that happens.

Hopefully, setting the game in the north will let the Circle conflict rest while we move on to different themes.

Arghh, what if the clothes turn out to be ugly?! Horrors!!!  :o

It is normal, some people think Tevinter will fall like Constantinople, I prefer to believe in an aggressive reform, something with impact. Unless you can be in the Qun side, in that case is another story, but I think the Qun will be portrayed as something evil as ever, so I think we can not have that option, so I think Tevinter will continue as before.
