"All acts performed in the world begin in the imagination."

That doesn't prove your position or mean what you seem to think it means.

So, you would say that the natives from South America had stolen from the Olmecs? They were influenced, like the others, they were in the same continent and et cetera. It is more easy to see this type of thing to happen. It's normal, I do not think it's steal, if you were a native and Spanish/Portuguese descendent for example, how would feel about yourself? It is difficult to determine what is theft, when all pre supposed that no culture develops too much without having much contact with another.  And from another point of view, you could argue that those who are teaching their culture to other people consider themselves superior and that they are civilizing that primitive people, even if not in an agressive manner.

They learned from them because the Olmecs came to them to teach them.

In ancient times the Olmecs come to South America to teach them math, science, architecture, and astrology. That's why you see Olmec Head Stones almost everywhere, and the Olmec have African facial features which confirms it was Africans who came way before the Conquistadors came. There's a difference between learning from different culture and stealing people's culture.

Olmecs from Africa? An outlandish theory rejected by virtually all experts on mesoamerica and largely supported only by North American Afrocentrists... The things you believe are starting to make a sad sort of sense.

It means that all wonders of culture, heritage, and academic wonders begins with a imagination. Even Albert Einstein said imagination means everything. And Tevinter doesn't have an imagination to create so they oppress elves by enslaving them and steal all their knowledge of magic, religion, and culture to rise as an empire because of it.

I'm no fan of the Tevinter Imperium but they have imagined and created their own things and didn't get everything from the elves. For example they were able to imagine and create transoceanic-capable ships to emigrate from their home continent and immigrate to Thedas. Plus they have a completely different religion so where are you getting they stole the elven religion?

^ This.
But some elven fans would say that the old gods are the elven gods and etc. Forgotten Ones I think.

All of it is based on elven magic they just reverse engineered it.

Oh for the love of God. Do you really think it means that nobody is influenced by what is around them or what came before? The imagination takes inspiration from experience and available knowledge, it is not a vacuum. Imagination isn't the ability to spontaneously generate 100% original ideas. Tevinter existed before the elves, it was already an empire. The developed their religion before attacking elves and had cultural practices before the elves. They even practiced magic before the elves. They drew a lot from the elves, but they were more than that. They did not adopt elven culture or religion, certainly.

Look, when the Arab invasion occurred and Arab rulers took over Huge swathes of the Byzantine and Sassanid empires, they adopted architectural and administrative practices of the empires they took over, especially the Byzantines. Did this make them thieves totally lacking the capacity for original thought? No. As an often nomadic desert people, the Arabs had not developed a system for ruling a large agrarian society, nor did they have an advanced monumental architectural tradition, so they employed the styles and systems of the cities they conquered, but through the centuries they made it their own and they certainly didn't lack a culture of their own beforehand. The Arabs had a longstanding relationship with the Byzantines and adopted a system they knew worked (and even admired) rather than muddle about and try to make up something new.

Same deal, Tevinter adopted the knowledge of the elves in magic. It doesn't follow that they lack capacity for originally thought.

We met an Old God. It was not an elf. :P

How can it be reverse-engineered from elven magic when they created it before they encountered the elves?

Don't know...How they would have access to it? Or the elves taught them or they already had prior knowledge. The old gods had teach them blood magic, perhaps...

Bunch of stupid malevolent dragons who taught "humans" to use magic which is why the blight causes their downfall in the first place.

Just to ask, do you think that Solas and his crusade to restore the elven people glory is a... you know, valid casus belli? Do you agree with him?

I wonder if we could become a Magister in Tevinter and engage in politics in the Imperium! Imagine it! Debates, assassinations, blackmail. Remember how fun the Winter Palace was? Imagine how awesome it would be if we could spend a whole portion of the game like that! I wonder what kind of factions exist in the Senate.

I understand what Solas is trying to do and I respect him for it, but I don't agree of what he's doing by destroying the world to relive the glory days, he will cause more damage that's so big it will be irreversible beyond repair. He thinks that everything is his fault that the elves were mortal and a prey to the Imperium, because he created the Veil to keep the Evanuris from destroying the world. He made the best out of a bad situation so he did what he had to do to save his people, if I were Solas I just take all elves to somewhere else to start over and teach them everything about elven history, magic and philosophies and never again repeat history. And I would've take my lover with me so we can raise a family and settle down, the thing is that Solas needs to forgive himself and forgive everything so he can move on with his life and be with Amaya (My elven Inquisitor)

Yes I have. Many times.

You know this is not considered credible by the vast majority of Mesoamerican researchers, right?

I "think" you're being sarcastic... but I'd love an entire game like that.

Not sarcastic. Just want a more involved game. If we get the chance to be a magister (human/elf mage exclusive/not impossible remember Varania)(other classes and races can find their own little niche). Each race and class joining a certain group/faction making you more involved in Thedas. Unlikely I know but it's a lovely thought.

All of those citations are garbage level propaganda.

I didn't really expect much but, I am still disappointed.

Also two of those sources no longer even exist, just FYI.

When you are presenting evidence against what goes against historical grain, you generally have to do better.

I'd certainly like some politics in my DA4, yes. I still remember the Winter Palace and the Landsmeet with fondness, and Dorian's words imply that politics in the Imperium aren't very different from Orlais.

That said, I have the feeling that the great equalizer (no mater if there are origins or not) that will kickstart the game will be slavery. Except dwarves (and in their case you need just a bit of imagination), having mages, non-mages, humans, elves and even Qunari as slaves is a pretty common sight in Tevinter, according to lore.

Also, I think we shouldn't desire to be Magisters. There's a juicier prize on sight, a possibility suggested by World of Thedas: becoming an Archon. Contrary to other monarchies, the position of Archon is not hereditary. He or she chooses the successor. If no one is named when they die, the Magisterium elects a new one, but no Magister or ranked member of the Chantry can become Archon. It doesn't say that only mages can become Archon; perhaps a loophole left there because no one believed a non-mage would be elected by the mage nobles of the Imperium. But when a PC is involved, everything is possible.
