It sems to me your position is a bit biased N7Phantom. You think every human is bad and responsible for what happened and happen to the elves, but you don't seem to think a elf can be bad, or if he oppresses his kind he/she does so just to please others and not for his/her own volition.

As I said if you want a very deep one-on-one about this hit my inbox.

She's still have a mentality of a house slave and she should be killed, she is an infection that needs to be eliminated.

Anyone else smell troll?

That's the thing, Iakus, I do not think N7Phantom is trolling or joking when they say these kinds of things nor that Hanako Ikezawa is entirely wrong about projecting.

what do you mean?

* blows smoke* well on your stance seems like your extremely downplaying elves and giving them the Tolkien treatment of virtuous gods while demonizing humans(yes pun intended love abominations deal with it lol) anyway and on the human defendants we are assuming that they "can" change and not as you say opress non-humans.

Both moot points since the series has yet to end and lack of any true history that is unbiased or very least intact from no outside remedy

My stance isn't reallt pro-elves, expecially based on what I wrote here. I'm more on a neutral side.

I don't joke when it comes to these issues. The elves reminded me of my people.

I'd like to think I don't downplay elves so much as provide mitigating circumstances. And that I don't demonize humans so much as air their dirty laundry.

I doubt it, from previous conversations it seems clear to me that N7Phantom is a black nationalist projecting his warped understanding of real world history, culture and blame onto this situation.

Your people were once immortal mages who hunted mythological subterranean beings for sport, practiced slavery and possibly blood magic, and were ruled by god-kings you raised yourselves?

People, let's not get into a whole moralizing of the enslavement of the elves. Elves were enslaving each other long before humans even existed, so it isn't fair to lay blame for all their woes at the feet of the Imperium. While it is true that the Tevinter idea of elves being 'lesser' is perhaps their longest lasting cultural impact on the rest of humanity, the elves have been oppressed and worse long before humanity, so don't lose sight of that.

Actually, it doesn't look like any notion of superiority over elves was prominent until after the Exalted March on the Dales. Prior to that, Shartan was celebrated as one of the heroes of the Andrastian faith. Animosity toward the elves really only seems to have hit full swing over time through the refusal to aid in the Second Blight and the refusal of the Andrastian faith.

Lol, no, she wasn't a slave, she said so herself I think. She genuinely liked her position, she considered herfelf a citizen of Tevinter and couldn't care less about the elves.

He considers Varania the Thedas equivalent of a house n-word. He also considers real life black americans who don't share his agenda uncle toms and house ******s.

Remember it's just my opinion: As far as I'm concerned the writers made the elves as bad guys to justify the "humans" enslaved them for their own good, because they want to feel better about themselves of not being the bad guys by making elves just as evil and they want to justify racism against elves because of it. It sounds familiar with history of slavery by justifying that type of evil, by coming up a lie to enslave people so they can feel better about themselves in the real world.

I'm pretty sure the logic that the bioware devs decided to make elves the "bad guys" so they could feel ok with their own real life history of slavery of black people fails as a premise since, if for no other reason, that the majority of the devs are canadian, which doesn't have the same history of black slavery as the US.

Also, the premise just makes no sense. So there's that.

No, the reason I don't relate to you has little to do with your race and everything to do with your attitude.

I promise OP, this is my last post on this.

How would you know that? Did someone run a skin color survey when I wasn't looking?

That's not really what N7 is arguing about. They've stated a few times that the bioware devs made that part of the lore up just to justify oppressing the elves in-universe b/c the devs are white and they want to feel ok about a history of oppressing black people in real life.
