I think it was mentioned several pages ago in this thread, that in the end there's no way to confirm Calpernia's death. Given the sympathetic treatment she can have in DA:I (depending on the Inquisitor's choices, of course), and the fact she enjoys some screentime in the recent comic-book series, I can see her coming back. I don't know if as a romance option, but I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case.
She has potential as a companion. Known backstory (less work for the writers), powerful but not overpowered (you can buy her becoming a companion), ruthless in some regard but idealistic in others (start counting her "Calpernia approves/disapproves"), knows slavery yet is a supporter of a better Tevinter Imperium (conflict!).
Good to know.
Agreed. Not only does she have an interesting backstory, a connection to Inquisition, an interesting story point (former enemy now ally), has the remnants of the Venatori at her command, she's powerful, and quite stunning.

I would be quite shocked if she wasn't involved. Depending on just how much of the Venatori are really left, I could see her becoming a companion.Agreed. Looking to other Vints, Dorian is virtually assured as an NPC (I doubt he'd be a companion again). Maevaris is likely, though still not sure about companion likelihood. I'd love to see Fenris and some exploration of the lyrium tattoo business as a sidequest. Marius and what's-her-name could make an appearance, I guess, depending on whether there's another comic series about them in the works...

I hope we don't get stuck with Calpernia as a companion and/or romance option. The only capacity I want to see her in in DA4 is receiving justice for all the atrocities she committed.

I want to play Fenris' background story of what he been through as a slave and have him as a companion for DA4 to chop heads of Tevinter slavers together!
We won't be a companion in DA4 since he can die in DA2.

That's what imports are for. And I would love to play him to put the fear of god upon them. Revenge has never felt so good!!We won't be a companion in DA4 since he can die in DA2.

They aren't going to spend all the resources that go into a companion character for a character that can be dead. A NPC sure, but not a companion.

I'd love to romance Calpernia or have her show up again as a companion. She's got a sympathetic backstory and it's not like we've had former antagonists turn into companion members, that's basically how we recruited Zevran and Loghain in Origins, as well as Nathaniel in Awakening.
Plus it can lead to some amusing bits of banter between characters;

There should be more dnd in general. I don't care who makes them, so long as they follow some of the rules (and aren't those dinky action rpgs).

I mean we don't get many big DnD games anymore. Proper RPGs. They''re more like these action games that show up on Xbox Live and last 5 hours.

I used to think that of obsidian, but they won me over with NV and so forth.

Fair enough. It was Kotor 2 (what I remember) and NWN2 that made me negative about them. But New Vegas was years later. And I partly blame Kotor 2's problem on being rushed.
But yeah, I'd like to see Beamdog stick to DnD again. I also get the feeling Gaider would just be happier writing adventures and characters. He didn't seem to like being responsible for the lore, when it came to DA.

It was fvcking LucasArts's fault that KOTOR2 turned out the way it did. Only one year of development and had to be a Christmas release. Obsidian managed to churn out a critically compelling non-traditional Star Wars story that really forever changed how I look at Star Wars with its black and white dichotomy.

@vitNever said the story wasn't good just... Poor gameplay and crippling bugs. And it was basically a copy paste system wise they could be done better if allevone wasn't Damn perfectionist
