Throw all that in with being able to actually play as my Inquisitor in a dual-protagonist role whenever the story need arises (*cough*confronting Solas*cough*) and I'm set. lol

To this I'll add one mushy romance scene with Dorian for a romanced Inquisitor (somewhat limited so it's not too unfair to non- Dorian-mancers), and I completely agree. ;)

[edit]

The Solas-mancers get theirs too, of course.

I really want this.

I have this idea in my head that the Inquisitor will have a more hands off role in the story, but with access to a wartable-like interface with effects we actually encounter in the world our new PC explores and affect the story.

I was hoping my Inquisitor actually just becomes Genetivi in his new role... and not Genetivi on steroids. He's spaced out, off in some ruins somewhere with Cass.

I suppose its about time a climbing mechanic was added to Bioware games. You can use it to get out of the pit of fade snakes.  ;)

(Genitivi's antics just really remind me of Indiana Jones, honestly.)

Not sure about his companion chances. As it was mentioned, Fenris could be killed or event sent back as a slave to Tevinter in DA2.

However, as a cameo, a minor quest giver or optional NPC? Yes, I can see it happening. A bit like Nathaniel's and Zevran's appearances in DA2, in which the quests are optional depending on the import, or the Council's and other characters appearances in ME3, in which other NPCs can take their place without the quest changing much. Or there's also the minor reference in a War Table mission.

With my Hawke I never turn him in to that thing and I never killed him, because I feel sorry for him and I understand why he hates mages because of his experience of being a slave by a mage. Who knows what the man has gone through hell and back in Tevinter?

A whole vertical aspect is needed. That's partly what I was hoping Tevinter would have. I want to leap from rooftops like AC... just as a City Elf.

Not that I care for AC too much. Just that part.

Oh, I love exploring, jumping and climbing around in enviroments. I even managed to do this a ton in Inquisition so I'd love to see it improved upon in the next game.

Also, saved me time from having to take the stairs and use the doors.

The reason I don't think some people would like it is because of the absolute powerlessness of being presented as a slave. Not just a slave, but one who is also sold, the ultimate symbol of being treated as sub-human property. To me, this is different than simply being a prisoner, as at the start of DAI or Skyrim, or even the contract that Hawke takes on.

And that's another reason I like it.

Let's be honest, Bioware love their power fantasies, and they're good at doing them, but from time to time it's not bad to challenge the player and make them remember they're human (Respice post te! Hominem te esse memento!). After DA2 I don't think Bioware will try a downer ending again, so if the player has to feel absolute hopelessness, let it be at the beginning. Knowing slavery is bad is not enough, let them have a (brief) taste of it.

The combat tutorial could happen before we're bought by Dorian in this scenario. It could be whatever incident we get mixed up in that brings us to his attention in the first place.

Ideally I'd like it to go Menu->CC with racial/class choices with basic attached backstory like DAI and DAO->start in Tevinter at master's house with the ability to talk to fellow household and flesh out/explore this new story/character->given task-> leave to do task-> stumble on something beyond our ken-> kickass or be kicked (or a bit of both, probably)-> return/get carried home-> someone shows up and presents owner with offer s/he can't refuse-> get escorted to Pavus manner->  Meet new owner Dorian & talk-> get put in position of secret agent under the guise of Dorian's new favored slave -> sh** gets real.

If I could, I would have origins as in DA:O. Let us discover different sides of Tevinter and let us play our way until we end up being purchased by Dorian. That way we could have a taste of everything.

So many possibilities! Tevinter nobles falling from grace, Dwarven politics in Ambassadoria, elves trying to get by while fearing slavery (or starting as slaves themselves), Vasoth in the middle of a war between the Imperium and the proper Qunari... But I fear all those ideas, if any, will be just a mention in the dialogue or the codex. Easier and cheaper.

With my Hawke I never turn him in to that thing and I never killed him, because I feel sorry for him and I understand why he hates mages because of his experience of being a slave by a mage. Who knows what the man has gone through hell and back in Tevinter?

Sending Fenris back as a slave has to be one of the evilest thing we can do in a DA game. And it's not as if there's a lack of jerkass options. Still, the possibility is there, so the best I can hope is Fenris being a quest giver or a cameo. For example, a mission to stop a friend of Danarius who is performing experiments to replicate Fenris' "success". If Fenris is alive, we may find him in the middle of the mission and he will help us and provide some commentary. If not, we'll do it alone. Something like that.

Didn't we let a elf be raped in Dao? Giving someone over to slavery seems not to bad compared to all the other things

You could let Danarius drain city elves for +1 Con (not that the number matters). The Warden is the biggest bastard of them all. The one Morrigan approves of at least.

edit: Caladrius, I mean.

What kind of catch 22 is that?! Slavery is evil and turning someone in to slavery is beyond evil, because you take away that person's freedom.

For once, we agree :P

I hope you don't like the Qun either though. They're the same thing. The whole North seems to suck.

But they give you a choice if you want to be part of the Qun and people come at their own will to be a part of a society that gives them a purpose in life.

True, that was one of the most evil thing we can do in DA games so far.

Though I don't get the Morrigan thing. She approves that choice as well as other not really moral ones, but you can have a good relationship with her without doing those stuff.

I knew it. You'd defend them. Tsk tsk

So much for caring about elves. Hypocrite :P

Great choice. You can choose to join them, dying or become a midless laboured with qamek. Happy times.

It's just shallow. The player must be fellated at all times.

You can even do the most awful things, and they still build a statue for you in Redcliffe. You could kill Leliana and defile their prophet, and Cass still wanted your Warden as the Inquisitor.

Look @ Gat and see how he's happy under the Qun, and Iron Bull rescued him from that monster who raped him when he was 8 years old. And the Qunari cared for him and he lived a good life under them, the Qun is far from perfect but it's better than living anywhere else who hates you.

Again, I do agree on those things being strange, but I still don't get the Morrigan part :P. Do you mean that regardless of your choices the characters can still like you?

I never saw him. I haven't even had Bull.. But I'm trying to do it on a new playthrough... but now I've postponed that too.

And look at all the people who refused who are killed or reduced to labour. The Qun is flawed, as every country and organization in Thedas.

Fenris was taken advantage of sexually by Danarius as confirmed by, I believe, David Gaider so turning Fenris back over to Danarius is giving him back over to slavery and to a man who'll likely rape him. There is a line during the confrontation that alludes to this aspect of the relationship between the two.

It seems to be that way.

I guess it's up to us to roleplay a Morrigan playthrough that makes sense. It requires less thinking if you're an aggressive Warden type. If you're a good guy, then you're "cracking her shell". I don't like this. It reminds me of the time I dated an alcoholic. Or being a needy teenager.. like you're pining after someone, but want them to change.

That's why I won't live with them because of it and they should let them go if they don't want to.

They won't let them go. They want to change the entire world. It isn't like some optional lifestyle thing. It's totalitarian.
